Woodpusherghd
One of my disks is showing an error. I've attached the smart report. Is it time to replace this disk or is it a harmless error? Thanks. tower-smart-20220715-0801.zip Quote Link to comment

trurl
I doubt this all happened at once. You should have been seeing SMART warnings for this disk on the Dashboard page. Do you have Notifications setup to alert you immediately by email or other agent as soon as a problem is detected? 3 minutes ago, trurl said: attach diagnostics to your NEXT post in this thread Maybe you have other problems you haven't noticed. Woodpusherghd
I have notifications set up. I just received warnings the past day or two that's why I ran the smart check. Diagnostics are attached. tower-diagnostics-20220715-1058.zip Quote Link to comment

Woodpusherghd
I have done this before, if I recall: 1. Stop the array 2. Unselect malfunctioning disk 3. Start the Array (missing disk will be emulated0 4. Shut down the server 5. Replace the disk 6. Start the server 7. Stop the array and select the replacement disk 8. Start the array and the replacement disk will be rebuilt. Procedure good? Quote Link to comment

Pretty sure you have unneeded steps in there, only used if forcing a rebuild on the same physical disk. Quote Link to comment

It will emulate the disk when it sees the original disk is missing. Quote Link to comment
