Ah I misunderstood you about removing 2 and 10.

On the Docker page, at the very bottom is a button that says Container Size. Click that button and post a complete screenshot of the results.

Maybe you need to increase the size another 10G.

Probably a good idea to just disable Docker and VM Manager in Settings until you get your array working.

New Config without disks 2 and 10 and rebuild parity. If it looks like it is having problems with that post new diagnostics.

I think you must be a few posts behind. Those diagnostics indicate New Config with all disks then disk10 became disabled while rebuilding parity.

Disk2 looks worse than disk10 actually. Since neither of these have any data now it would simplify things if you just

Ok I stand corrected. so do disk 2 and 10 out and rebuild then you want a diagnostics.

The reason I suggested leaving that one out is just to simplify your array since it is empty. If parity rebuild succeeds without problems you can add it back later.

I am getting hard drives to replace disk 2 and 11 today. Disk 2 is emulated and has about tb on it. When I rebuild disk 2 I will get my data back?

  • Community Expert

The rebuilt disk will have the same data you see on the emulated one.

Only if you don't want any of its data. It doesn't look like either 2 or 11 have much if anything on them, probably you already formatted the emulated disks because they were unmountable.

You aren't getting that data back except perhaps with some data recovery software working on the original disks.

So did I waste my time to rebuild the disk 2

That screenshot shows disk2 with plenty of data, not sure about disk10, disk1 unmountable. Can't really keep up with what you have done since you have shuffled things around. Earlier diagnostics showed disks 2 and 10 with little or no data.

Post new diagnostics so we can see where you are now.

Makes absolutely no sense regardless of which disk you mean, which you don't even mention.

Disk 1 is now corrupt and said its emulated but its saying unmountable

root@bracservultra:~# mkdir tmpxfs
root@bracservultra:~# mount /dev/md1 /tmpxfs
mount: /tmpxfs: mount point does not exist.
dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.
root@bracservultra:~# mkdir /tmpxfs
root@bracservultra:~# mount /dev/md1 /tmpxfs
mount: /tmpxfs: can't read superblock on /dev/md1.
dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.

Even when I take the disk out and its says not installed it says unmountable.

My parity has the disk1 safe from a month ago. Not much data changed on disk 1. So I got amazon sending me a new disk by 10th. I can just rebuild the parity?

Is your system crashing a lot?  Have you run a memtest for a couple of passes?

  • Author

No crashes at all, its really odd. I have not run a mem test.

its rebuilding now I got no idea whats gonna happen. If it will go back to disk 1 when I did parity about month ago. This is old disk and its mostly inactive.
