@KingHawk I can reproduce that crash. It looks like a Roon bug. I don't really use playlists but perhaps try setting up a temporary server on a PC or Mac and see if you can reproduce the issue. If you can then let Roon know.

You’re right I should give that a try. For now, I’ve just been bulk selecting albums and adding them to playlists, which works without any issues.

I also checked in with ChatGPT and shared my logs, it pointed out that this seems to be a known bug that still hasn’t been fixed as of Roon v2.49. It called it a UI/UX flaw, since the option to add an artist to a playlist is visible in the interface, even though it’s not actually supported.

  • Can you nuke the Docker, delete appdata, and start over? you enter credentials via a Roon client after connecting to Roon core. If I recall. It will have to rebuild your server.

The idea behind Docker is that the software has everything it needs to run all inside its own walled garden. You specify a few little holes it has to see through in the docker config page on the unrai

  • I really appreciate the existence of this docker on Unraid. Roon server has run well for me on my Asustor NAS, on a dedicated machine before this, and now on my Unraid server, which helps me preserve

They put a ticket in for my report.

Hi all, I'm still on xthursdayx's container (just to clarify given recent posts) and its been working flawlessly for me both with the standard roon setup at home as well as remotely via arc (via tailscale)

I'm writing as I'm interested in updating to unraid 7 and read that there are some vulnerabilities with tailscale working with containers with network set to host (https://unraid.net/blog/unraid-7-0-1) which is no longer permited as a result. This is how my roon server is set up (and from memory the recommended way to set it up given specific networkisms of roon that I only vaguely understand).

From the sounds of things therefore I'd have to adjust my setup and I was just wondering whether anyone else had an experience with the same and/or if there were any recommendations for a setup using a different network type (if indeed that's even possible).

There's always the vm route as a backup, but would be great to stay with docker if possible..

Thanks in advance for any advice!

That's only when using Tailscale in the container. You can still use Tailscale on the whole server just fine.

Thanks for the quick reply @mackid1993 - good to know.. appreciate the clarification!

My container https://github.com/mackid1993/docker-roonserver (found on Dockerhub mackid1993/docker-roonserver:latest) automatically rebuilt like it was supposed to on May 1st along with new dependencies and the latest Photon OS build. Running this since mid April I've seen zero issues and the issues I was running into with the original container that is unmaintained haven't come back.

Stopping and starting Roon docker - no problems and continuity with config and queue.

Restarting Unraid, starting docker - all configuration, playlist, music, everything is lost. I have to reauthorise Roon core as new, deauthorise old (with the same name), and restore from last backup.

Is it normal with dockers? I had no such problems on QNAP or Windows 10.

N100DC-ITX, 32GB RAM, no array, 4xSSD cache ZFS raidz1, Unraid 7.1.2 trial. All programs and music on cache pool.

After restart Roon logs show few times the following message:

at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.AwaitableSocketAsyncEventArgs.ThrowException(SocketError error, CancellationToken cancellationToken)

at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.AwaitableSocketAsyncEventArgs.System.Threading.Tasks.Sources.IValueTaskSource<System.Int32>.GetResult(Int16 token)

at System.Threading.Tasks.ValueTask`1.ValueTaskSourceAsTask.<>c.<.cctor>b__4_0(Object state)

--- End of stack trace from previous location ---

at System.Threading.Tasks.TaskToApm.End[TResult](IAsyncResult asyncResult)

at Sooloos.RnetJsonClient.<>c__DisplayClass65_0.<_BeginRead>b__0(IAsyncResult ar)

System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (104): Connection reset by peer

What is wrong?

@mackid1993 thank you for the updated docker. I've been trying to install it, or the @xthursdayx one but both are giving me the same error. I used to have roon server working fine last fall but now I can't get it to work. Any ideas? I have it set to the default options and it starts running fine until I try to connect to it using the Arc on windows or android. doesn't seem to matter. as soon as I try to connect my account, the error loop begins, the OpenHome::Network Error. I appreciate it!
