ahab666
After changing my parity drives - because the last ones i used produced read errors, even though they passed the full pre-clear routine. With the factory-new drives I did a resynch without a preclear and it seemed to work, BUT now I am getting an error notification array health report = FAIL Can anyone explain that to me please, attached 2 files and if you need additional dumps please name them including their location(s). cheers tower-diagnostics-20221204-1227.zip Edited December 4, 2022 by ahab666 Quote Link to comment
itimpi
Your diagnostics seem to show that parity2 has been disabled ! This would happen if a write to it failed for any reason. Your screenshot does not show enough to confirm this and to give the serial number so we can check it’s SMART information. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
See the notification details, it should have more info, possibly a device temperature issue, if a device temp is above the set warning it will be considered a fail. Quote Link to comment

THX for that idea - but my server is in an unheated basement and its winter time ... even during summer HDD temperatures rarely reach 32 to 35 C .... cheers Quote Link to comment

Solution Kilrah Posted December 4, 2022 Solution Share Posted December 4, 2022 When did the notification first appear? If it was while building parity that's normal as the array is considered "failed" until it's fully protected again. Quote Link to comment
ahab666
Thanks - it happened either during the initial parity run or slightly afterwards .... 😄 Quote Link to comment
