mattiscg
Just build my first unraid server. Created a array and tried to create a user share. Every time I create a user share nothing happens. no errors just doesn't do anything. I noticed on the bottom left "Starting Services" that has been there for several hours. also i went to apps and saw a banner message that said Docker Services failed to start. Sorry still learning. Please help trying to create a Unraid Plex Server. Quote Link to comment

Solution Squid Posted May 20, 2023 Solution Share Posted May 20, 2023 You haven't formatted the drives after adding them. There's a checkbox on the Main tab to format all the unmountable drives. Presumably you also realize that if any data is present it will be lost. Quote Link to comment
mattiscg
Hey Thanks @Squid that is very embarrassing. but my issues are solved. a bit confrused why unraid let me create and start an array with unfortmatted drives. Hey could you answer another question? trying to create a plex server on this now, which Plex App should i use? i have Plex pass and a Nvida 1030 Graphic Card for transcoding. Thanks again! Squid
52 minutes ago, mattiscg said: a bit confrused why unraid let me create and start an array with unfortmatted drives Because the system cannot determine if the drives are truly blank and need to be formatted, or if they say have data on them from NTFS and the user is expecting the OS to be able to read it natively. Formatting involves data loss in that situation. Any of the Plex's would work for you. I'd go with either binhex-plexpass or LinuxServer and also install the nVidia driver from Apps 1 Quote Link to comment
