November 1, 201114 yr Author i guess there could have been a problem, when you had sabnzbd installed from unmenu (and it was possibly running). if it was running, the port was blocked and the "new" sabnzbd couldn't start. this may have caused a hang when starting the server, causing problems. (i'll add this to my todo) if i read you correctly, at the moment your problem is, that couchpotato isn't starting. did you use the update function inside of couchpotato? if yes, you have to delete your installdir (i.e. /usr/local/couchpotato) and then it should start again. (i'll have to add this warning in my starting post, to NOT use the updater within couchpotato) btw. my screenshots are not one screen but multiple. if you click on the couchpotato/sickbeard/sabnzbd icon, you SHOULD see the configuration dialog. how did you start the apps, if not with the gui?
November 1, 201114 yr Yes, the problem is that Couch Potato isnt starting at the minute. Although I am also concerned that when I reboot my previous install of SAB (which was installed through unMenu will try to install again and that may throw a spanner in the works again! Do you know where these files reside on the Flash drive so I can delete them? When I tried switching from disabled to enabled in the GUI (for CouchPotato), I noticed on the monitor attached to the server, that there were error messages coming up on screen that it couldnt find files in /usr/local/couchpotato. When I browsed to that directory, the files were not there but instead in another folder in that directory (called RuudBurger-CouchPotato... blah blah something) so I moved the files up one directory and clicked on enable = Yes and then clicked on "Apply" again and this time the script (or whatever runs when you click Apply) ran fine and CouchPotato started fine. So I understand that /usr/local is a RAM drive and therefore will be recreated on reboot and I will therefore have the same problem again. How can I avoid this. Also if I want to make a permanent store of the config file / settings for SAB, SB, CP on my HDD so its already configured when it boots up next time, how do I do that? Is it the install DIR or the Data DIR I want to change in the GUI? So would something like /mnt/disk1/Usent/SAB/settings work, for example? Also, to avoid further potential problems with SAB, do you know how I can 'tidy up' my install of unbRAID? Is there a command I can type to give a print out of all my files & Directory structure, perhaps like the old DOS "tree" command?. Maybe if I post that you could tell me where I have messed things up? Thanks again for yuour help and support.
November 1, 201114 yr Author to disable the unmenu sabnzbd you could either go into the unmenu gui and disable autoinstall in the package manager (if i remember correctly. haven't used unmenu for ages) or if you don't want to use unmenu at all anymore, you can remove the unmenu parts in your go script. the unmenu packages should be in the "packages" folder on your flashdrive. (for more infos on this, you should ask in the threads for the unmenu packages) again the question, if you used the update function of couchpotato. if you didn't then there is a new bug i haven't encountered before. (which i will hopefully fix.) if you did use the update, then this problem won't come again, until you use the update function again. (so don't ) instead of moving the files one folder up, you could have just deleted the whole folder and when enabling/starting couchpotato via gui again, it should have been reinstalled (like i wrote before). /usr/local is on the RAM Drive, yes. so all files here will be lost on reboot. to save your settings, you set the DATADIR to a folder on your array, cache drive or an other connected drive. (i use an extra drive, which is not part of my array.) The installdir is the folder, where the app will get installed. the datadir is the folder, where any configuration will be saved. if you don't specify a datadir, all configuration will be saved in the installdir.
November 2, 201114 yr wow, that's a lot of info to work through Yeah, sorry. i didn't want to provide too little info first your hang with sickbeard: this is a known bug, but i have never experienced it when sickbeard was started automatically on server restart. (i'm guessing your second code block is from when you restarted the server?) when sickbeard is started in the webgui, the gui will hang, but you can just reload the page and the hanging stops. i still haven't found the bug causing the hang, or a workaround. (in my previous plugins, before the new pluginsystem, i could just kill the hanging part of the webinterface, but now it would kill the entire webinterface, which of course isn't good...) This is the hang I was referring to, and I see it even on a fresh start of unRAID. I shut it down, completely off, then started it, and this is the last line I see, and hitting enter accepts, and takes me to a command prompt. installing the latest version of sickbeard starting sickbeard: sudo -u nobody python /usr/local/sickbeard/SickBeard.py -d -p 8081 --datadir /mnt/disk1/plugins/sickbeard --pidfile /var/run/sickbeard/sickbeard/pid > /dev/null 2>&1 please refresh the page I'm not sure if this is relevant, but it does appear to be related, or at least one cause of issues. maybe not? run_cmd: /etc/re.d/rc.sickbeard disable nobody 8081 /usr/local/sickbeard /usr/local/sickbeard /mnt/disk1/plugins/sickbeard run_cmd: /etc/re.d/rc.sickbeard enable nobody 8081 /usr/local/sickbeard /usr/local/sickbeard /mnt/disk1/plugins/sickbeard /etc/re.d/rc.sickbeard: line 78: [: missing ']' are you sure, the emhttp segfaults were caused by my plugins? Nope, I have no idea what causes them, I just figured I'd mention all my issues, in case they are/were related. i don't use a user/password for all my apps. sabnzbd has its api key, but that's all the protection i configured good to know. I'll probably do the same. if sickbeard and couchpotato are still not finding any files, you should check their logfiles for errors. I think I have them working properly now. I have SAB download stuff from both, so I think I'm okay with this one. Thanks again for all your help and hard work in making this available to us; I appreciate it!
November 4, 201114 yr How much RAM does leaving the default install directory at "/usr/local/s..." take up? Would moving the install directory to the cache drive free up a significant or fair amount of memory?
November 4, 201114 yr du -hs sabnzbd/ 8.1M sabnzbd/ du -hs sickbeard 11M sickbeard du -hs couchpotato/ 13M couchpotato
November 5, 201114 yr OK, so I decided to 'tidy up' my unraid install and started from scratch, formatting the Flash drive and installing 5.0 beta13 from scratch (I had previously installed 4.7 and then upgraded to 5.0b - not sure if that makes any difference?). One difference I notice now is I dont seem to have a disk "sda" in my array as before. Previously Disk1 was a 2TB data drive (sda) Disk2 was the parity drive(sdb) and I had the 250Gig drive that came with the microserver instlled but not part of the array yet as its not pre_cleared. Now, however, sda seems to have disappeared and Disk1 has become sdb and Disk2 has become sdc!! Anyway the Array works so I guess its not a huge problem. Anyway, I digress. I have installed the three plugins from the links on the first page of this thread. They didn't automatically install on reboot so I had to use the installplg command from the command line manually. The three plugins (with their respective icons) now show up on the "Settings" page, as they should. SABnzbd and Sickbeard start fine but CouchPotato does not! Here is the log file from Couch Potato 13:21:13 INFO [ app.config.db] Initializing Database. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Listening for SIGHUP. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Listening for SIGTERM. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Listening for SIGUSR1. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Bus STARTING 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Forking once. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Forking twice. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Daemonized to PID: 17523 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] PID 17523 written to '/var/run/couchpotato/couchpotato.pid'. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Started monitor thread '_TimeoutMonitor'. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron] Starting Cronjobs. 13:21:14 INFO [ider.yarr.sources.newzbin] Using newzbin provider 13:21:14 INFO [er.yarr.sources.nzbmatrix] Using NZBMatrix provider 13:21:14 INFO [rovider.yarr.sources.nzbs] Using NZBs.org provider 13:21:14 INFO [ider.yarr.sources.newznab] Using Newznab provider 13:21:14 INFO [provider.yarr.sources.tpb] Using TPB.org provider 13:21:14 INFO [rovider.yarr.sources.x264] Using #alt.binaries.hdtv.x264@EFnet provider 13:21:14 INFO [.movie.sources.theMovieDb] Using TheMovieDb provider. 13:21:14 INFO [movie.sources.imdbWrapper] Using IMDB provider. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.trailer] TrailerCron thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.subtitle] SubtitleCron thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.eta] ETA thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.renamer] Renamer thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.movierss] Movie RSS thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [app.lib.cron.kinepolisrss] Kinepolis RSS thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.trakt] Trakt watchlist thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.renamer] Watched folder doesn't exist. 13:21:14 INFO [ app.lib.cron.yarr] YarrCron thread is running. 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Serving on localhost:8083 13:21:14 INFO [ ENGINE] Bus STARTED 13:21:24 INFO [ app.lib.cron.movierss] Movie RSS has been disabled 13:21:24 INFO [app.lib.cron.kinepolisrss] Kinepolis RSS has been disabled 13:21:24 INFO [app.lib.cron.kinepolisrss] Kinepolis RSS has been disabled 13:21:24 INFO [ app.lib.cron.yarr] Searching for new downloads, for all movies. 13:21:24 INFO [ app.lib.cron.yarr] Finished search. The WebGUI reports CouchPotato as running but I cant see it on port 8083 (my port for CP). The log shows itas seving" on Port 8083 on localhost (192.168.0.3) Another log (further up in the file) showed this as "serving" on 192.168.15.9:8083. This is because when I re-provisioned the server, I did it downstairs in my office on a different router with the domain 192.168.15.xxx as I am able to connect a keyboard and monitor to the server down there. But now its in the loung on a different router (192.168.0.xxx) hooked up to my HTPC. Could the move of domains caused the problem? If so how do I fix it? I already edited the config.ini file in the /boot/config/couchpotato directory, where I changed the "host" entrey under the "[global]" section from 192.168.15.9 to localhost. I then tried to restart CP from he webgui but this didn't seem to work. Do I need to rebot the server for these settings to take effect? I think not as the log file seems to reflect the change in IP address since my edit. IO did notice one entry in the log about some python hhtp server being down, could this be the problem? How do I resolve this? Grateful for help!!!
November 5, 201114 yr Hello, I apologize if any of this has been covered already. I did read back through some of the more resent posts, but couldn't find anything specific to my one issue. Some background: I'm currently using unRAID Basic, version 5.0-beta13 (Clean install, just started using unRAID this week). Since I'm using the basic version, I have no cache drive (only 2 data and 1 parity). The cache drive will be coming once I prove that unRAID is right for me and purchase the plus version. Here is the issue I'm experiencing, I've downloaded the plugins from the original post and put them in the appropriate plugin directory and restarted unRAID. The 3 plugins seemed to install correctly and I see them in the webGUI. However, when I attempt to configure the data directory or the port for any of the 3, once I click on apply, these settings simply revert back to the defaults. I tried changing all of the settings for each plugin and the results are all the same. This issue seems to be isolated to these 3 plugins, as I have installed mySQL in the same manner and was able to configure its settings.
November 5, 201114 yr have you disabled them before? (and press apply?) Yes. Sorry, I should have stated that. They are disabled and I do hit apply (I believe that if they are enabled, the actual controls on the page are disabled, so they cannot be altered anyway). With them disabled, I enter in the new data directory path, change the port, hit apply and the screen refreshes with the values reverted to their defaults.
November 5, 201114 yr if you change the values, and press apply. but let it disabled. what happens then? whats the output of cat /boot/config/plugins/sickbeard/sickbeard.cfg
November 5, 201114 yr if you change the values, and press apply. but let it disabled. what happens then? whats the output of cat /boot/config/plugins/sickbeard/sickbeard.cfg Sorry for the delay, was waiting for a copy to finish. So, I did (and have been doing) as you suggested, and I went into the configuration for SickBeard, entered in a new port of 6001, hit apply, and it reverts back to 8081. The output of sickbeard.cfg is: SERVICE="disable" INSTALLDIR="/usr/local/sickbeard" DATADIR="/usr/local/sickbeard" RUNAS="nobody" PORT="8081" It's the same before and after. Here's a ls -l output of the SickBeard folder: -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 136 2011-11-05 12:48 sickbeard.cfg* -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12086 2011-08-18 19:05 sickbeard.png*
November 5, 201114 yr No, there is not. I've tried several different ports as well. As my forum title suggests, I am a newbie, so I'm sure this is something silly that I haven't or have done.
November 5, 201114 yr Thanks for your help and suggestions, spidi. It's really appreciated (It certainly helps me with my choice to switch over to unRAID). Here's another odd one for Benni-chan... I've managed to get the 3 plugins running by manually editing the CFG files for each and changing the data directory and port directly in the CFG file. However, the one odd thing that has happened is with CouchPotato, in the CFG file I've specified the port as being 6002 (after ensuring that nothing else was using that port) and when I refresh the configuration page for CouchPotato, the data directory is set correctly, however the port is still reading 5000 (the default port). Both SABNZBD+ and SickBeard read their ports properly (and are both up and running now).
November 5, 201114 yr start couch potato with the default port, and change it in the couch potato setting. that might work.
November 5, 201114 yr Author @Redstorm: sda is probably your flash drive now (but this doesn't matter and it can even change at each server restart). to fix your problem, the host value inside the config.ini should be an ip adress (so use the ip of your server, not localhost). to listen on any local adress (if the ip will change regularly) you can set it to 0.0.0.0 if nothing helps, you can try to delete the config file, so couchpotato will create a new one on startup. (backup the old one first.) @Lagony: you can only change values in the webinterface, if the plugin is disabled. BUT those changes are only saved, when enabling the plugin. so to change a value, first set Enable to "no", hit apply. then change the settings, then set Enable to "yes" and then hit apply. Sickbeard (or the plugin you changed the settings for) will start with the new settings. (in the next (soon to come) version, it will be possible to save settings without enabling the plugin. the port thing is an other matter. sickbeard should start with the port you have entered in the gui. there is one little problem with the gui, which happens, if there is no sickbeard config file (not the plugin config but the sickbeard config file). when there is no config file (usually on the first sickbeard start or when setting datadir to a new location without a config file), the port setting can't be written to the sickbeard config and the webgui will read a wrong setting. but even in this case, sickbeard will always run under the port, you set in the port field before hitting apply when enabling sickbeard. one of the next versions will make sure to workaround the before mentioned bug. couchpotato is a special case. it's the only of the three apps, which will not take a command parameter to change the port. so i'm using a little hack to change the port inside the config.ini of couchpotato. this config change will only take place when enabling the plugin (not when you are simply stopping and starting it).
November 5, 201114 yr oh damm, I knew that, but forgot it, since it is a longtime ago i actually change something.
November 5, 201114 yr It's like I said earlier...I'm sure it was something silly that I was or wasn't doing. That is exactly the case. I'm so used to configuring settings and ensuring that they are set before I enable any service or plugin. In this case, I was configuring the plugin, keeping it disabled and hitting apply (to ensure that settings are correct before I finally enabled the plugin). It would seem this isn't how it should be done! I've since disabled CouchPotato, gone into the configuration page, changed the port, changed Enabled to yes and hit Apply. Now it's running on the correct port and life is good. Thanks Benni-chan. I guess it would be too much to ask if you could add Headphones to your list of wonderful plugins? Headphones would round out my setup just nicely,
November 5, 201114 yr Author Thanks Benni-chan. I guess it would be too much to ask if you could add Headphones to your list of wonderful plugins? Headphones would round out my setup just nicely, HeadPhones is on my todo list (if no one does a plugin before me), but at my last tests (several weeks ago) it just wasn't stable enough. as i don't want to answer a lot of support questions on how to get it running correctly, i'm waiting for a version i'm satisfied with. (Before this, my next released plugin will probably be for Transmission (already in the works))

With them disabled, I enter in the new data directory path, change the port, hit apply and the screen refreshes with the values reverted to their defaults. flip it to yes, make your changes, then apply, it will apply then, and start the service. flip it back to no and it will stop the service. When I do this (on b12a), it takes all of 15 minutes before the unRAID menu becomes available/responsive to me. this does not seem to happen to others I hope you have more luck than I

When I do this (on b12a), it takes all of 15 minutes before the unRAID menu becomes available/responsive to me. this does not seem to happen to others I hope you have more luck than I this should only happen with sickbeard (known bug). the simple workaround is reloading the page (after a few seconds) or closing the browser window. if this happens with other apps and/or reloading the page doesn't help, please let me know.
