November 15, 201114 yr Thank you for your message Unfortunately sabnzbd is installed in the directory /boot/config/plugins/sabnzbd
November 17, 201114 yr Might be a silly question but I presume you have set the Data Dir to something other than the RAM disk (i.e. /usr/local/sabnzbd)?? If not then all your settings and config are being stored in RAM and this will be lost at the next server reboot. Try setting them to either your Flash drive or one of your storage disks. For example my data dir for SAB sits in /boot/config/sabnzbd Hope this helps. can you tell me how you do that? /boot/config/... is on the Flash Drive. How big is your USB-drive to use it as download location? and IMHO it isn't a good idea to use a flash drive for this type of things.
November 17, 201114 yr My Flash drive is only 4Gig. I say only as I know you can get much larger flash drives now but in unRAID terms its over-sized if you consider unRIAD will boot off a 128Mb flash drive. I only put the config files for SAB, SB & CP there. the install dir's are in RAM (or in the case of CP its on one of the harddrives in the array - dont ask me why) So where does it download to the install dir, no? I wouldnt imagine it downloads to the config dir would it? Anyway, my whole system has just gone down tonight, see the post below for a full description http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=16660.0 Any idea how I can reset the flash drive so its not read only? There must be a simple command line fix for this!
November 17, 201114 yr If you don't change the Dowload folder in SAB itself it will create a folder called Download in the "settings" directory and put it all there.
November 17, 201114 yr Oh I see what you mean now. Yes, I did that already. It was all set up and working fine. Server had been up for about a week then.. BOOM!!! - read the original post, here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=16660.0 I thought you menat the folder that unraid downloads SAB to firsat time round. Any body here got any idea how I can reset the file permissions on my USB key as it seems to have gone read only when the server got shutdown (not the right way)? Is there not a command like CHMOD or similar that does this - sorry I'm new to Linux so not sure of my way round yet. Please read my original post above where you can see my SYSLOG Please someone help!!!
November 20, 201114 yr I noticed SABnzbd 0.6.11 RC1 has been released. How does this Sabnzbd plug-in update itself? Thanks
November 21, 201114 yr Every time I start of stop SickBeard, it hangs the unRAID menu. Every single time. How can I help diagnose and fix this problem. I'm happy to test whatever, or read whatever necessary. I wish I knew more about this, since I think maybe I could just dig in and find/fix the problem, but I'm just not very educated about Linux or plugins yet. Refreshing the browser DOES NOT WORK. That is not the answer. I have provided error messages received in this and other threads, and can post them again if they would be helpful. I really want to help 'fix' this. I'm still testing out a few things, and anytime I start/stop SB, I have to wait 15 minutes to use the GUI again; and I have almost put my fist into my new monitor already due to the SEVERE frustration with this. HOW CAN I HELP? I have experienced this same problem myself, specifically when stopping SABnzbd or SickBeard, but I've also experienced it on occasion when starting CouchPotato. When this occurs (and no refreshing the page does not work), I have noticed that a process called rc.sickbeard or rc.sabnzbd is running (check by running: ps -A | grep rc.* ...I think). If I kill that process, the webgui returns to normal, but the plugin hadn't started. Starting it again usually results in a success. I've been away for over a week now, so it has been a while since I've looked at my unRAID box (which with SickBeard and SABnzbd, ran beautifully while I was away). Once I get settled back in, I'll try and gather some more information if I can regarding this.
November 21, 201114 yr For anyone having troubles.. check the permissions on your folders. I had a hell of a time getting the holy trinity up and running, but I found the errors by starting them all on the command line without dumping the output to /dev/null. Each program quickly told me that it couldn't write or access a folder that I had set in the config. A quick chown and all is well now. Just a thought for the plugin developers - it might be helpful to keep the output from the first start up and display it on the GUI.. i know I could see the start up command, but never the output. Once the app is running well, the output could be directed to /dev/null. Cheers and thanks for all the work getting these going.. this is the final step in getting to my goal of only having one box running all the time. whiteatom
November 26, 201114 yr Having trouble getting sickbeard to stop properly. Both from GUI or on array stop it hangs at: /bin/sh /etc/rc.d/rc.sickbeard stop When I kill that process (after waitin 5+ minutes) the array will finish stopping. Any ideas what is causing this? Same happens with sickbeard stopped (if I'm simply trying to stop the array and I've stopped sickbeard already). Also, With the array offline and sickbeard disabled the GUI still thinks its running.
November 27, 201114 yr Ok, I removed the plugins, rebooted, then reinstalled them. SAB and CP are running fine and dandy, SB is still giving me grief. I kept the port, install directory and run as untouched, added the datadir, enabled the plugin and saved. The GUI refreshes and says SB is running but I don't get the web interface. I also don't see SB in my list of processes like I do the other two... any suggestions, anyone? EDIT: appeared to be an issue with the information in my datadir. I removed it all and started from scratch and it seems to be working fine now.
November 30, 201114 yr Each program quickly told me that it couldn't write or access a folder that I had set in the config. A quick chown and all is well now. As a linux and unRAID newbie still, can you be a bit more specific what command you actually ran? I'm having some issues starting/stopping the plugins, and I suspect the "fix permissions" utility may have changed the permissions on these folders, and I'd like to correct this as you suggest. thanks
November 30, 201114 yr hi there, for a few days now sickbeard is acting kind of strange. everything is downloaded correctly and in the right folder. but every day some of my tvshows are processed just fine but sickbeard has always some problem with moving the other shows. it's not like always the same shows won't be processed..it seem's like it's totally random. every time i restart unraid completly everything works fine..but not for long. i fixed permissions several times. upgraded unraid to beta14 and then downgraded again to beta13 because i thought i made it worse : ) this is the error sickbeard gives me all the time: Nov-30 15:01:23 ERROR POSTPROCESSER :: Exception generated in thread POSTPROCESSER: 30 Nov-30 15:01:23 ERROR POSTPROCESSER :: Unable to move file /mnt/cache/"xxxxxx" to /mnt/disk2/"xxxxxx": 30 thanks so much for your help.
December 5, 201114 yr I'm having problems again!!! I did a server restart the other day and SickBeard wont start, tried refreshing the page but its more than just that. I read above that it might be permissions related, can someone tell me how to start SB from the command line and how to change the necessary permissions please? The Array isnt starting either so I cant access the disk to watch any movies or play music! Also I have the Sysstat+unraid plugin and the iStat plugin running on my install of v5.0 beta 13 if that makes any difference. Appreciate all your help guys / Benni... Thanks

December 8, 201114 yr Sick Bear is SLICK.. Has any one figured out how to add the torrents branches yet? Not much into the news groups.. Thanks I apologize in advance for the following comment but I couldn't resist. Has anybody called a Veterinarian for that "Sick Bear"?
December 8, 201114 yr The plugin get's it's state information (running, or not running) from /var/run/sickbeard/sickbeard.pid do a "ps -ef | grep sick" (where ps -ef shows all running processes, and "grep sick" shows only the lines with "sick" in them) Make sure sickbeard isn't running, then delete rm /var/run/sickbeard/sickbeard.pid Then state of the web GUI will realize SB isn't running, and you can go about your business.
December 8, 201114 yr Recently upgraded my server from 4.7 which was running SAB to 5.14 and thought I'd try this plugin out as it was a clean install. I;v downloaded the files to the plugins folder on the flash and run "installplg /boot/config/plugins/<NAME OF THE PLUGIN>.plg" but when it runs i get an error it says installing plugin from .... downloading from slackware.....ending in bad download, deleting Any ideas please.
December 12, 201114 yr Somewhat OT: but for those that use a Synology in conjunction with unRAID - here is a package to install (python, transmission-web, Sickbeard, Sabnzbd, CouchPotato, Headphones) I like to use my unRAID as a media server only, and well...the Syno is a good work dog for all the other stuff. http://synoblog.superzebulon.org/2011/10/some-news/ Maybe some ideas for the unRAID programmers as well

December 14, 201114 yr I seem to be having a problem updating couchpotato. I noticed there was a new version of CP, so I attempted to shutdown couchpotato within the app so that I could reinstall from the plugin screen, as directed in the first post. The problem I am having is that it seems now that couchpotato is not running, but the plugin thinks it is. I have checked for processes to kill, and I am not seeing any. I have also tried to enable=no, but it just says Stopping Couchpotato forever. =/ Is there any way to force couchpotato to stop (or force the plugin to recognize it)? I'd hate to have to reboot UnRAID for this... Many thanks! EDIT: TL;DR, how can I force the couchpotato plugin to stop?
December 16, 201114 yr Running unRAID 5.0 Beta12a, parity + 14 data drives and a cache drive. Only running Simple Features plugin. Added only the SABnzbd plugin. Never had any version of SABnzbd installed before. Native unRAID powerdown (no unMenu PowerDown addition). 1) The ability to not save the config without selecting "Enable", there by also starting the app really needs to get fixed. I am sure many have stumbled on just changing the config and clicking apply with it just reverting the settings back. 2) Just a thought/suggestion would one not place BOTH the install and DATA portion off the USB Stick so the it does not have to get written to every reboot (install) and worn out prematurely? Is there any issue/bug by having the complete app install to a single location? # sabnzbd configuration SERVICE="enable" INSTALLDIR="/mnt/cache/.Apps/sabnzbd" DATADIR="/mnt/cache/.Apps/sabnzbd" PORT="8080" RUNAS="nobody" 3) Someone posted the following earlier and I have to completely agree, if I do not enter the same path for both InstallDir and DataDir into the config, very weird permissions apply. Not sure if this helps the author but from my config above when I got started I only had /mnt/cache/.Apps, the install created the “sabnzbd” folder and with incorrect permissions. I corrected it (recursively) via WinSCP. 4) Downloaded some data via SAB, and then I attempted to reboot to make sure everything stuck. Server hung. Powered it off, came back up, selected to start the array, a parity check kicked off due to the unclean shutdown and no matter how much you refresh the array shows up as “Starting…” in the GUI. The array is up, SAB is up and running!, but stops the Users Shares from being mounted and anything else that may proceed user shares. I located via a terminal that “/bin/sh /etc/rc.d/rc.sabnzbd.start” was still a running process (clearly hung) kill it and the User Share immediately came up and the start array procedure truly completed. There is definitely an issue with the scripting here… In case of a power loss you can’t bring the server down gracefully nor start it back up gracefully. Look forward to the fix of the SAB plugin very much, before moving on to the others. Please do not test new releases of unRAID beta’s with plugins like this installed, it would drive Tom, and others crazy…
December 18, 201114 yr I did some updating of sabnzbd, sickbeard, and couchpotato and now nothing works I know I should've just left the same versions... What are the steps to removing the plugins and reinstalling? I found a few files referenced inside the plg /etc/rc.d/rc.sabnzbd /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/sabnzbd and there's /boot/config/plugins/<dirs> and files I also found that a reboot will get rid of some of the files. Thanks!
December 22, 201114 yr Thanks for the great plugins, they all installed on my new unraid v5b14 install without an issue. I also installed Playstation Media Server and will be doing some testing to see if unraid can take the load off my PC. It all looks very good so far, and I will purchase the pro version and add a cache if it all goes well. Just a quick question. I'm new to unraid, and running the basic version. I have 1 parity drive and 2 data drives, and I've loaded S.N.A.P. via unmenu, and set up a Apps drive. With SABnzbd+, SickBeard and CouchPotato there is an Install Directory, and a Data directory. Install is currently set to /usr/local/ which I think is running from my flashdrive. Do I need to set Install & Data directories to /mnt/disk/Apps in the settings or just the Data directory? The Apps drive is just an old 120Gb SATA I had lying around and is in NTFS format. Cheers
December 23, 201114 yr I spoke too soon. I had SABnzbd+, SickBeard and CouchPotato & PS3 Media server all running and installed both install & data on the Apps drive I set up with SNAP. Great I thought, but then I tried to set up SAB & SB using the AutoTV scripts in SAB and for some reason the sabtocouchpotato script wasn't selectable in sab. I tried loads of things, different folders, making sure the path was correct, but couldnt' getting it working. I tried a reboot, and boom, the App drive is wiped everytime, and I couldn't write to the drive, I reinstalled the NTFS-3g plug in and made sure it reinstalls at a reboot (doh), and now I get asked for a login/password before I can access the Apps drive. Nothing is working either, the plugins all reinstall and my settings vanish so I'm starting from scratch each time I reboot. I was really liking unraid, it's a bit fiddly in places, but I was finding my way around and figured once it was set up it would be sweet. I'm finding it very hard to troubleshoot when I don't know linux telnet commands that well, and you have to read pages and pages of posts to find solutions to problems with plugins. Can anyone give me any help to get SAB, SB & an apps drive successfully installed, and consistent after a reboot?
