October 31, 201114 yr I didn't see where the Plex Media Server 0.9.5 was released for Linux. Where did you get it from?
November 4, 201114 yr Followed you steps and update fine. Awesome! Thanks! However, my Android phone and iPhone is stuck at "Preparing for playback... Opening session for media playback.." screen and getting these errors on the PMS.log I'm checking on the Plex forums for a possible fix. November 4, 201114 yr Spidi! I think you fixed my memory issue! Great job! After about 9 hours the virtual memory has not grown over 217MB. I'll keep watching, but this looks extremely promising! Thanks so much!
November 5, 201114 yr Been checking the forum and my PMS.log. Maybe someone can help me with this issue. The error that I'm getting is this: root@Frank-Server:/mnt/cache/Apps# /usr/local/plex/Resources/ffmpeg transcode http://127.0.0.1:32400/library/parts/1820/file.mkv /tmp/plex-transcode-f610c936-fa41-47a9-864e-41ea6a450346/media 5 7 0 1 nil 0 yes UTF-8 default 0.75 av baseline 720 31 aac 3355443 yes /usr/local/plex/Resources/ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory -I have alsa installed. -Looks like Plex is using /tmp (root/root:755) directory even though I set it to /mnt/cache/Apps/Plex/temp (unraid-plex/users:0755) Not sure what else to check I even tried to reinstall but still getting the same error. Update: I fixed the "ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libcurl.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" by adding this to my go file echo "/usr/local/plex" >> /etc/ld.so.conf ldconfig and it looks like ffmpeg now runs root@Frank-Server:/etc# /usr/local/plex/Resources/ffmpeg transcode http://127.0.0.1:32400/library/parts/1826/file.avi /tmp/plex-transcode-803fd392fb8dae133047a6597942934ddc5dab89/media 4 8 0 1 nil 0 yes UTF-8 default 0.75 av baseline 480 30 mp3,aac 3355443 yes --> Continous Mode !!! I will create a separate thread if you wish.
November 5, 201114 yr Author sorry, the tmp directory is definitely my fault. I forgot to set it. so at the moment its always "/tmp". I will fix that in the next release. Sorry again. but "/tmp" is writable for all, so that shouldn't be the problem. (transcoding works)
November 5, 201114 yr Author Update: - make use of the tmp directory edited via web interface (forgot it in the last version) - removed the cronjob (hopefully it isn't needed any more)
November 5, 201114 yr You ROCK spidi! installed your latest update and video is now playing The Temp Directory setting is now being applied. AWESOME! Thanks a lot!
November 6, 201114 yr How do you do this ? then i set a link to your Library. (To avoid the increasing RAM problem, works for me at least)
November 6, 201114 yr Author at the moment yes. at least if you have your Library or your tmp directory on the cache drive. (with a dot dir .tmp for example) but why is this a problem for you?
November 6, 201114 yr Author than I would say you have experienced the increasing RAM problem. If you use my latest plugin it should at least slow it down.
November 6, 201114 yr Hmm, is it because I have a "dot" in my path ? It is because your temp directory is /tmp which is in RAM. The more files placed in /tmp the more RAM is used.
November 6, 201114 yr It is because your temp directory is /tmp which is in RAM. The more files placed in /tmp the more RAM is used. but this isn't the memory leak we are talking about, since the usage of the ramdisk wouldn't show up in the memory usage of an app.
November 6, 201114 yr I've installed the plugin, changed my library and tmp dirs to /mnt/cache/.plugins/plex & /mnt/cache/.plugins/plex/tmp, set to enable and hit apply. unRAID has been loading for about 5 minutes now and i can't load the main unraid interface either. When i browse to <ip>:32400 i get an XML error but <ip>:32400/manage works ok (i think?). Just FYI, not sure how to diagnose from here. Also, i had to leave the install directory to default for this to actually work. Thank you for your efforts! Update: 25 minutes, still no unRAID interface :'( Solution: Close the plugin window, then it all works ok. BUG?
