karsto
Hello Community, I recently (2 weeks ago) bought a brand new Western Digital Red Plus drive. It has been working fine until yesterday when errors on the dashboard started adding up. I managed to pull the (SMART) error report but I'm having difficulty interpreting the data. I'm hoping that some of you experienced folks could help me out in this regard and shed some light on what might be going wrong. I have attached the SMART error report at the end of this post for reference. The primary things I'm wondering about are: Are there any errors serious enough that I should consider replacing the drive immediately? Could some of the errors be false positives or insignificant issues? What should be my course of action to avoid potential data loss? I am worried because the drive is brand new and I wouldn't expect it to have any issues at this point. I would really appreciate if you could take a look at the attached report and share your insights. Thank you in advance for your help! tower-smart-20230702-2331.zip Quote Link to comment

itimpi
I would say off-hand that drive looks a big suspect with the large number of Pending Sectors ad on a new drive I would expect that value to be 0. There is a faint chance that if you run a pre-clear on it the value will go back to 0 but I would not be very hopeful. Quote Link to comment
