linuxdevil
Hi, new user to Unraid. I created a usb-key under Linux, booted into Unraid, all was fine. Then I hit 'Start Trial' and I get the error you see in the headline. I never used Unraid before, this USB key has never seen Unraid before. What can I do to get into trial phase? linuxdevil
The brandname is Platinum, Unraid shows it as Innostor (8 GB) Quote Link to comment
Squid
Have you paid for a key, or is this a new trial. If the latter, then your flash drive is not returning a unique GUID and cannot be used. If you contact support with a copy & paste (no screenshots) of what shows within Tools - Registration they can tell you whats going on. Quote Link to comment
linuxdevil
This is a first trial, never used Unraid before. Will contact support. I greatly appreciate your help. Quote Link to comment
ConnerVT
Innostor is the company of the disk controller of the flash drive. My best guess is the company that produced the completed flash drive (Platinum?) saved a few cents, and did not bother to generate/program unique GUID for the drives, but rather left it set to how they received the controller chip from Innostor. So there are likely tens of thousands of these drives out in the world, all with the same GUID, and one of them was already used for an Unraid boot flash drive. Quote Link to comment
