Crashplan trick...

Well not really a trick but if you want an archive folder to be backed up from a network share which Crashplan doesn't support you can temporarily copy those files to your local and let Crashplan do its thing. Once the the backup is complete you can remove the local files. This is pretty good if you have folders with a bunch of static files in them that doesn't change much. Yea, I would love Crashplan to be able to add some remote shares but they just saying it is not supported at this time.

live drive also doesn't support it, but how i got round it is in windows 7 i back up the library (c:\libraries) in the library is music, videos ,documents.  these point to unraid

As far as live drive is concerned its backing up the library and it works.  All documents, music and some videos.

I tried using a symbolic link in Windows (which is basically what the Libraries function is) with CrashPlan and it failed. I haven't had a single hiccup since I installed the agent on my unRAID server itself.

I'm not very good with doing manual installs using Linux. The last thing I want to do is mess up my stable unRaid box.

I'm not either and it was a cinch!  I just followed the instructions provided on this forum and it worked like a charm.
