opentoe Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Well not really a trick but if you want an archive folder to be backed up from a network share which Crashplan doesn't support you can temporarily copy those files to your local and let Crashplan do its thing. Once the the backup is complete you can remove the local files. This is pretty good if you have folders with a bunch of static files in them that doesn't change much. Yea, I would love Crashplan to be able to add some remote shares but they just saying it is not supported at this time.
nickcardwell Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 live drive also doesn't support it, but how i got round it is in windows 7 i back up the library (c:\libraries) in the library is music, videos ,documents. these point to unraid As far as live drive is concerned its backing up the library and it works. All documents, music and some videos.
c234rmf Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 my solution to the network share issue is to run crashplan on my unraid server.

StevenD Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I tried using a symbolic link in Windows (which is basically what the Libraries function is) with CrashPlan and it failed. I haven't had a single hiccup since I installed the agent on my unRAID server itself.
opentoe Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 I'm not very good with doing manual installs using Linux. The last thing I want to do is mess up my stable unRaid box.
