unable to see shares on a QNAP / Unraid server

I am just testing to see if I can breath new live into my old TS 469-PRO QNAP.

I have been able to installed unraid on a USB and fire up a trail licence, and I am able to see the environment.  at the moment I only have one 10TB hard drive which I have assigned to the array, and then formatted. so far so good.

I then when and created a new share called Media, but when I go and try to see if I can see the share in windows SMB,  all I see is a empty folder.  I then tried to mount a NFS share from my main Unraid to my test unraid, and again I can't see any shares.

but when I go and have a look at the shares,  what I see is a orange triangle informing me "Some or All files unprotected"

so my question is:  because I only have one Hard Drive, that at the moment I am not able to use unraid or because I have missed something and I need to do something else with unraid OS due to the fact that I am using a QNAP tin ?

When you go to the setting for the share check under the SMB section that you do not have it set to Export=No (the default) as that would mean it will not be available over the network.

If it is not that then you should post your system's diagnostics zip file in your next post in this thread to get more informed feedback.  It is always a good idea to post this if your question might involve us seeing how you have things set up or to look at recent logs.
