April 20, 201214 yr Hey Everyone, Just though it would be cool to let you know that on my recent build I was really afraid to leave the jumpdrive on the outside of the case so I picked up one of these: USB 3 http://www.amazon.com/Atech-10-Pin-Motherboard-Adapter-Converter/dp/B006VFA1C0 They also make them for USB 2. http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Motherboard-Header-Adapter-USBMBADAPT2/dp/B002GNU2V6
April 20, 201214 yr There's perpendicular version from StarTech too. To the right of the heatsink http://i932.photobucket.com/albums/ad169/adamrbell/unDAT2012/DSC03558.jpg[/img]
April 20, 201214 yr Did same thing for my initial case (Centurion). Got the 4224 now and also got one of those compact notebook flashes, so it fits nicely for the 4224 case usb port.
April 20, 201214 yr An old motherboard purchase came with a USB header. I simply disconnected the bracket and plugged the other end into the new motherboard.
April 20, 201214 yr my motherboard actually has a usb slot on the inside of the board. i left it plugged in so i don't have to worry about breaking it off of the back or front.
April 20, 201214 yr Actually, I WAS mistaken. Got my unRaid USB inside the 4224 case, it is my ESXi USB that I have in the low profile USB plugged into the outside.
April 20, 201214 yr I used the cable method myself http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-Motherboard-4-Pin-Header-USBMBADAPT/dp/B000IV6S9S
April 20, 201214 yr I used http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815201028 and it plugs direct into a USB header on my MB. That way just in case it does not get broken off the back or come up missing (via the little curious ones....) Works great for me - supports two usb devices... Myk
April 21, 201214 yr I used the cable method myself http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-Motherboard-4-Pin-Header-USBMBADAPT/dp/B000IV6S9S i am also using this unit, works well
April 21, 201214 yr not sure if they are still available but I used the official supermicro board, from a few year back. It came with a USB slot on the motherboard, very handy. Just a pain if you ever have to pull it out for some reason. Though usually I can perform upgrades via the USB network share, also very handy.

April 21, 201214 yr mines kinda nested within a bunch of sata cables. not secured down haha, I guess that works too.
April 23, 201214 yr I used the cable method myself http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-Motherboard-4-Pin-Header-USBMBADAPT/dp/B000IV6S9S i am also using this unit, works well I'm looking at using this method... are you using cable ties to connect it to other cables so it doesn't lay on the motherboard? aka how is it positioned in your case? Mine is just kinda laying there. You can see the white wire dropping off the motherboard towards the bottom and hides behind the Sata cables. I didn't want it tied down so I can easily grab it and pull it out and change the USB if I need to.
