August 22, 201213 yr Author I'm running into an issues trying to install the latest version. Looks like it can't find a file Should be fixed. Not entirely sure where my cloud copy of faac dissappeared to, but it's there now. Please try the plugin again and report back if you're still having problems installing. Thanks, overbyrn

Hello. There's no direct upgrade path I'm afraid. Although there shouldn't be much effort in making the switch. Before you start, make a note of your config as it is now. You should really only need a record of the folders configured. eg. Movies:/mnt/user/Movies,TV:/mnt/user/TV Assuming you're running a version of unRAID which supports plugins, you'll need to remove the unmenu version by disabling re-install on reboot from the unmenu package manager. After that I'd suggest a reboot before going any further, just to let your system come back up without the packages which would otherwise be installed from the unmenu airvideo version. Then follow the installation instructions on the first post of this thread. Once you have it installed, you can use the Airvideo plugin settings page to enter your original movie folder locations and a suitable password. That should be all there is to it.
August 27, 201213 yr My airvideo client sees my files, but fails to render the thumbnails and says "invalid" by the file name. Running the 0.7 version of the plugin, but had the same error on previous versions. Frustrating as i've never gotten in to work. August 27, 201213 yr Author adrockin, that error sounds like a missing linked library. I'm currently on vacation in Greece, so don't have access to anything other than an iPad for the next couple of weeks. However, when you get a chance, can you do something for me... Putty in to your unRAID server and at the command line, type ldd /usr/bin/avconv and paste the output here. It should list the libraries that avconv uses and I imagine there will be a "not found" against one for libx264.so.125 The trick will then be to check in /usr/lib for evidence of that file. Give the above a go and I'll check back later today to see if youve posted an update. Regards, overbyrn
August 28, 201213 yr I'm thinking this is a problem with the server itself so I posted my issue on the Air Video forums but I figured I'd cross post it here: "I've noticed a problem with the latest Linux version of the server. Sometimes the video will start to studder during playback. Audio playback is fine during studdering but video drops to what looks like 10 to 15 frames per second. It will last anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds and is not easily reproducible i.e. I can't rewind the video and have it studder in the same spot again. It is does not happen with any certain frequency either. It can happen once during a 30 minute TV show or 5 times. All the videos are xvid or h.264. All the times this happens I am sending the live converted video via AirPlay to another device. I've had it happen on an AppleTV v2 and a PC running XBMC set to be an AirPlay receiver. I've used both an iPhone 4S running iOS 5 and a 3rd gen iPad running iOS 6 and had this problem. It can't be upload problems because I have 25Mbps upload and it can't be the hardware because I'm running a 3.3GHz Core i3 with 8GB of RAM. I didn't have this issue with the previous version of the Linux server either."

Sorry for delay in reply, still on vacation and not a lot of Internet access around where I am. Do you run any other media plugins or applications? I wonder if something else is messing with the libraries that are required. From your ldd listing, we can see there are two missing dependencies, libx264.so.125 and libmp3lame.so.0. Both get installed as part of the AirVideo plugin install process. Taking the missing x264 first, check the existence of file "x264-snapshot-20120727-2245-stable-i486-rj.tgz" in /boot/packages. It should be there if you've run the AirVideo plugin install at least once. Assuming it exists, from command line; installpkg /boot/packages/x264-snapshot-20120727-2245-stable-i486-rj.tgz Then re-check the ldd command. Also, check to see if the missing file is really on your UnRAID system; ls -la /usr/lib/libx264* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 2012-08-31 05:55 /usr/lib/libx264.so -> libx264.so.125* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1247761 2012-07-28 16:21 /usr/lib/libx264.so.125* You should have file libx264.so.125 and a symlink called libx264.so pointing to it. For the other missing dependency libmp3lame.so, check /boot/packages for file lame-3.99-i486-1sl.txz and manually install as above ; installpkg /boot/packages/lame-3.99-i486-1sl.txz Then re-check the ldd command. A lot of messing around I know, but it would be good to get to a point where we can be sure everything is on your system and then determine the cause as to why it didn't install correctly for you.
September 12, 201213 yr Any chance to specify a custom port in the settings? It would be extremely useful in case a user doesn't want to run on a default port and/or has multiple computers running different instances (e.g. kids server & adults server), etc... thx!

It would be extremely useful in case a user doesn't want to run on a default port and/or has multiple computers running different instances (e.g. kids server & adults server), etc... thx! Hi ajax, I'm not sure you can assign a custom port with the Linux variant of AirVideo. With the MAC and Windows server version, the option is there in the gui. With Linux, you only have the parameters defined within air-video-server.properties file and the port isn't one of them. Paerhaps it can be passed as a parameter to the java instance, but I've never read a posting which demonstrates this. If you know of a post or something which says it's possible then I'd happily amend the plugin. UPDATE: hmm, it might be possible. Found a Google hit with mentioning server.port= as a somewhat undocumented option. I'll check later and report findings. Regards, overbyrn

September 13, 201213 yr Author hmmm... I thought it was (if I'm remembering correctly): server.port = 11111 "11111" being replaced with whatever other port. That being said, I'm not in front of any of my machines to test... just read the same thing. About to head out to work, but will test when I hit the office and update the plugin later. In fact, whilst I'm at it, I might as well expose the subtitles code page as I seem to remember at least one user needing to change it to get subs working correct in their setup. Know of any other useful server properities?
September 13, 201213 yr not off the top of my head, although perhaps you can also expose the default encoding for subtitles (or was that what you meant by subtitles code?). if so, apologies for the echo . otherwise, it'll allow folks with e.g. asian fonts display their media. thanks!
September 13, 201213 yr And PS... Thanks for the plugin! This was my last manually installed "app" from before my upgrade to the 5b series. (Never could get the unmenu version to work...)

You're welcome. Glad it's been helpful to others than myself. Have updated the plugin to v0.8 which adds the ability to configure the port AirVideo uses as well as the Subtitle Encoding and Font.
September 27, 201213 yr Wow, I am impressed! I've been hesitant to install this for awhile thinking I might not use it really but this was so easy to install I am really enjoying it. unRAID 5.0-rc8a + airvideo-0.8-i486-rj.plg + jre-7u2-i586.plg are working with the AirVideo app ($3). Have any of you found other apps that are free but still give you full functionality like AirVideo does to all directories and files? Or is *everyone* using the $3 AirVideo app???
October 3, 201213 yr I was having trouble getting AirVideo to start after upgrading to r8 of this plugin. Turns out if you leave the "Port" field blank in the configuration page, it fails to start. I had to set it manually.

I admit I had not given too much consideration to someone upgrading an existing version of the plugin and what happens when new config options are added. I've now included an upgrade check into v0.8 of the plugin to create the port and the two subtitle settings with default values if they are missing in the existing config file.

October 18, 201213 yr installed latest version i get message: Java version 1.6.0_11 detected. Please verify that AirVideo is compatible with your installed version is it compatible?
October 18, 201213 yr Author I imagine it will be compatible. I doubt AirVideo has too many issues with java versions. I put in the message more to report whether the plugin could detect an installed version of java than to warn it may be incompatible.
November 15, 201213 yr This might sound like a dumb question, but this won't work at all on unraid 5.0 RC4?
