Why not run your plugins like SAB/SB/CP/etc. in your arch VM as opposed to inside unraid?

I don't want to go thru the hassle of moving all the databases and mounting the shares.  Mostly laziness I guess ;)  I'll probably move them in a while.  I haven't had a successful move that keeps all of my settings and I'm tired re-setting it all backup. Windows Box with RAID5 to  Drobo/Mac-Mini to Drobo/RaspPi to Synology to unRAID.

I like your setup, can you go into detail on your WAP and reverse proxy setup?

Thanks! May have borrowed my layout picture idea from you.  I liked yours as well.

WAP is a ASUS RT-AC66R put into AP mode.

I'll update my drawing.

Thanks!

Do you keep the backup array running 24/7 and run automated backups? Why no parity drive on the backup array?

I do not keep my backup array running 24/7.  I turn it on once a month and and run an rsync.  As far as the no parity, I  just need to buckle down and spend 130 on another 3TB drive.

Ok, thanks - was wondering if there's some deeper philosophy in running it without parity :)

Just curious, where do you get those kinds of cases for your data disks? I've just been recycling old desktop towers, but they're hard to wire nicely and they don't have good air-flow over the drives.

I've seen some desktop cases designed for NAS used (like the infamous Fractal Design R4), but you seem to have something that looks more like a QNAP/Synology box with all of the disks laid out side-by-side and sitting where you can easily access them.

Link/hints on how to search for this style of case?
