February 12, 201511 yr Hi Not sure if there is a recommended list of supported USB thumb drives but if I already have this will it work when I order my key? Here is what I have: SanDisk Ultra Fit™ CZ43 32GB USB 3.0 Low-Profile Flash Drive Up To 130MB/s Read- SDCZ43-032G-G46 Thanks
February 12, 201511 yr You'll know if you install unRaid basic and see what the GUI key is on it (you have to do this anyways) to order a key

May 18, 201511 yr Did anyone get this to work? I bought one, loaded up the trial (did makebootable w/no errors) on it to see if it boots and it won't boot from it? Thoughts on how to debug?

Try totally blanking the drive and starting again. I used diskpart to "clean" my USB stick, then set it up again. Worked great after that.
June 14, 201511 yr I have the 64GB version of that, but I've never tried it unRAID. I think it came preformatted as exFAT, which would not work for unRAID. Did you reformat it?
June 22, 201511 yr The biggest USB Flash device you can use using standard Windows format tool appears to be 32GB. There is a tool that can format larger FAT32 volumes: http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm This is not an endorsement of the program and I haven't used it myself, but others have reported success using it. The exFAT format, being Microsoft proprietary, is not supported in unRAID at this time, though there are linux tools that support it. We still need to look into legality of including it.

I second that! I did have a 64GB USB 2.0 stick which I had to format with a special 3rd party tool to FAT32 but did have issues with it. So I grabbed a couple SanDisk 32G 2.0 sticks and transferred the license over. I can use the 64GB stick at work or for other things. I recommend just sticking with 32GB or less and USB 2.0. They are fairly cheap these days.

Note that the 16GB Ultra Fit appears to be what LimeTech ships if you buy a pre-configured USB Flash drive from theme (see the picture): http://lime-technology.com/preconfigured-usb-flash/ In fact, based on that, I recently bought one and it works perfectly -- boots VERY fast and I love the very compact size. ... interestingly, it's not on their recommended list
June 24, 201511 yr Yep, I have two of the 32GB. Nice and fits closely to the USB port. I'm always fearful that I'm going to damage the longer models...
