I am trying to login via Web browser I have ip address type in

http://tower nothing happens cannot log in to start page

Try replaceino networking adapter still nothing

Thanks

Can you find the server via it's IP address? If not, can you connect to the server via SSH? You can also try to ping an external website from the console to see if the server is setup correctly. Type root at the login prompt and then type ping google.com and see if you get packets.

Will try that

So I ping Google  and I get this

64 bytes from yyz08s13-in- f3. 100. Net ip address icmp_seq=288

288 keep going up tt I=54 time= 17.4

On the server console type "ifconfig eth0". Find the IP address of the server. See if you can connect to the server from your PC using IP address instead of tower.

From the console or telnet, type

diagnostics

Ignore any error messages, and find the diagnostics zip file on your flash drive and post it.

It is clear that the server is connected to your network, but not browser accessible. You might try accessing the server using a url like:

http://192.168.1.10

(Obviously replacing the ip address with your servers ip address)

I recommend configuring unRaid with a fixed ip and even creating an entry in your hosts file I'd you continue to have name resolution issues.

If this doesn't work, than the reason may be a failure of the web gui (http) on the server. The diagnostics file requested would give the info to determine if this were happening, which seems unlikely.

You are welcome to go to freenas, but I am surprised by your attitude. A number of people were trying to get the facts and help you. I expect you will have problems or questions on freenas too, and will find yourself in a less helpful community. Your choice. But don't bite the hands trying to feed you.

He had probably never the intention to get it working. Probably just wants to tell that freenas is a better option.

but i will keep trying

According to your diagnostics, your unRAID machine has IP address 192.168.2.212

Have you tried http://192.168.2.212 in your browser?

What is the IP address of the computer you are trying to use to access the unRAID webUI?

still not working

i don't know anything about linux

but i will keep trying

I also do't know much of Linux. Isn't really necessary. I got it working a few years following a starters guide.

Did you find out the ip address of your server yet?

You can always try reading this:

http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Configuration_Tutorial#First_Boot

192.168.2.212

also make sure the computer your trying to connect to unraid from is on the same network
