November 28, 201510 yr So in unraid 5 I used Joe L preclear script. How do I preclear a drive in unpaid 6? Is there a something built in, plugin or docker?
November 28, 201510 yr So in unraid 5 I used Joe L preclear script. How do I preclear a drive in unpaid 6? Is there a something built in, plugin or docker? You can still do the exact same thing, or use the preclear plugin.
November 28, 201510 yr Use the unofficial faster preclear script with the preclear plugin. On the larger drives it can save you an entire day on a typical clear run.
November 28, 201510 yr Author Use the unofficial faster preclear script with the preclear plugin. On the larger drives it can save you an entire day on a typical clear run. Use both?? Can you tell me how to do this or point me to a thread please? I just ordered a 4TB HGST drive and it will be here in a few days.
November 28, 201510 yr The preclear plugin does not include the base script. The instructions on what to do for the plugin is in the [beta testers] Preclear Plugin thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39985.0 It doesn't come with the preclear script itself, which can be found here. Please put a copy of the script to /boot/config/plugins/preclear.disk/ directory. Since you will be running on version 6 of unRAID you will need to follow the 64bit instructions for the faster script setup. Here is the thread on the Unofficial Faster Preclear: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=32564.0 If you install the fast preclear script the plugin GUI will give you a check box for fast.
November 28, 201510 yr Author Thank you, think I have everything installed correctly. When I get my drive I will be testing it out. Just to be sure I should choose CLEAR from the drop down correct? Any other settings I need to know about? Thanks again
December 3, 201510 yr Author So I installed my new drive and when I click on the plugin it says script not present, I installed the script in my root folder. Any idea?
December 3, 201510 yr Community Expert So I installed my new drive and when I click on the plugin it says script not present, I installed the script in my root folder. Any idea? if you read the installation instruction for the pre-clear plugin it gives the location where the script should be installed (which is the plugins folder on the flash drive).
December 3, 201510 yr Author It say this You should place the file called preclear_bjp.sh to the root of your flash drive. If you are running a 64 bit version of unRAID, copy the "readvz" from the x64 directory of the zip file to the root of your flash drive. So if I need to copy this to the plugins folder do I need to put them in a folder?

December 3, 201510 yr Author I thought I was supposed to use this http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=32564.0
December 3, 201510 yr Community Expert I thought I was supposed to use this http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=32564.0 That's the (faster) script the plugin uses, not the plugin. You can use that script without the plugin if you want.
December 3, 201510 yr Author OK, I have the plugin installed but when I click on it it says script not present. So what and where do I put everything. Sorry, I'm getting confused

December 3, 201510 yr Author Got it, thanks. I know it shouldn't have been that hard. Thanks for the help guys
December 4, 201510 yr Author One other question, where do I find the results when the percale is done?
December 4, 201510 yr When it completes the results are written to your syslog. To see the output while it's in progress click the eye icon for that drive in the plug-in's page of the webGUI.
