March 27, 201610 yr I've been trying unsuccessfully to get a 5TB external USB hard drive to mount with unRAID, and I'd really love some help. I tried following this tutorial, but when I try and make the directory, It returns "mkdir: cannot create directory /mnt/usr/data/usb: no such file or directory. I believe I was able to successfully install the NTFS-3G plugin (though it's not showing in my plugins tab), and I've also installed SNAP and Unassigned Devices, both of which seem to be no help. Can anyone either help me or point me in the direction of a tutorial that shows exactly what I need to do so that when I plug in an external hard drive, it mounts as a separate share I can access? I've attached my syslog, in case that will help anything. Thank you. neverlandunraid-syslog-20160326-2043.zip

SNAP definitely won't work, and there are 2 different Unassigned Devices (1 deprecated and the other not) You should be using this one: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=45807.0
March 27, 201610 yr Author SNAP definitely won't work, and there are 2 different Unassigned Devices (1 deprecated and the other not) You should be using this one: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=45807.0 I believe that is the one I installed. It shows my one unassigned sata drive on my "main" screen, but not my USB drive. At the end of my log there are a few strings: Mar 26 20:37:02 NeverlandUNRAID udevd[16273]: '/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/unassigned.devices/scripts/rc.unassigned reload >/dev/null 2>&1 & disown' [16385] terminated by signal 7 (Bus error) Mar 26 20:37:02 NeverlandUNRAID udevd[16271]: '/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/unassigned.devices/scripts/rc.unassigned reload >/dev/null 2>&1 & disown' [16387] terminated by signal 7 (Bus error) Mar 26 20:37:02 NeverlandUNRAID udevd[16270]: '/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/unassigned.devices/scripts/rc.unassigned reload >/dev/null 2>&1 & disown' [16386] terminated by signal 7 (Bus error) Mar 26 20:37:02 NeverlandUNRAID udevd[16272]: '/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/unassigned.devices/scripts/rc.unassigned reload >/dev/null 2>&1 & disown' [16388] terminated by signal 7 (Bus error) Might these have to do with it?
March 27, 201610 yr The correct version of Unassigned Devices works well and will do exactly what you want to achieve, but in your experimenting you've probably installed an old and conflicting version of something.

Yep, it seems when I removed the other plugins that it is now working. Thank you both!

As an aside, if you had installed the plugins through CA, this wouldn't have happened as it would only display what's compatible for your system

I do use CA to install all my plugins usually, and was wondering why I couldn't find NTFS-3G, which is irrelevant because it's built into the unassigned devices plugin. Now I know it only displays compatible ones, which is great.
