w5lee
I followed the directions to shutdown the array Disconnect the drive I wanted to replace Connect the replacement drive then refresh gui assign new drive to cache pool start array format the drive Problem is now I have an empty cache pool all of my data is gone! I backed up my data so I was able to recreate my VM's and everything but I would like to know what I did wrong so if I do get a failed cache drive I can replace it without loosing my data. morti
To clarify, post the number of cache drives you used before, and the count you are using now. I do not want to misinterpret this, but the way you posted this it could as well be that you had a single cache drive, disconnected it, and replaced it with another drive - where "it" being empty would not be much of a surprise. trurl
Format is never the right thing to do if you intend to keep data. Quote Link to comment

The process is covered here in the online documentation accessible via the ‘Manual’ link at the bottom of the GUI or the DOCS link at the top of each forum page. Quote Link to comment
