NeoDude
He folks, strange issue here. About an hour ago I started copying around 16GB of files from an UnRaid share to a USB stick mounted using the Unassigned Devices plugin. I'm copying using MC. Initially the copy zipped along nicely at 80MB/s and I had 7 of the 10 files completed within 10 minutes. I'm now sat at over an hour and the copy has slowed to 500 kB/s and my UnRaid server has virtually frozen, the UI takes around 5 minutes to load and all my dockers are unresponsive. Any ideas? NeoDude
Copy has now finished. Server is back to normal performance but USB drive is now missing from the unassigned devices list. Still accessible from within MC though. Quote Link to comment
NeoDude
Still getting this issue. Just tried to transfer a load of movie's via MC on to a USB stick mounted via Unassigned Devices. Started off quickly put eventually ended up at around 300kB/s. This issue is really beginning to annoy me, lol. There is some strange stuff in my log... NeoDude
Bump, Anybody any ideas? Am I missing something obvious? Quote Link to comment
NeoDude
Anybody? Or am I destined to never copy anything off my server? Quote Link to comment
trurl
I do this all the time with success though I haven't tried it with a "stick". Have you tried to copy to a different USB drive using Unassigned Devices? Quote Link to comment
Frank1940
Have tried copying across the network to that USB drive plugged into your desktop? This would begin to isolate the problem a bit. (Flash drives will go bad...) Here is an table from Tom's Hardware about write speeds to USB3 flash drives. Note that they are not all created equal! http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/usb-3.0-thumb-drives-2013/-02-CrystalDiskMark-3.0-x64,3241.html With UBS2 Flash Drives, the network will not be the limiting factor. NeoDude
Tried multiple sticks and over the network. Either way it just slows to a crawl. Quote Link to comment
NeoDude
Although, after having checked all my sticks none of them are USB3. Think maybe I'm just expecting too much, but even for USB2 I'd expect more than 500kB/s. Edited August 2, 2017 by NeoDude Quote Link to comment
