Cant Select Disks when creating a new share (time Machine share creation)

Hi Everyone,

So firstly i did have a search for the answers but i could not find this happening, so i am not sure if i am being stupid.

And mainly this is the fault of the UNRAID software, it just works and i have had rarely touch it, so i am out of practice. I had an uptime of over a year until i had some warnings of drive failure (Parity drive) and then i had to add a new larger parity drive)

Ahh first world problems, any way to my problem.....

So i am trying to create a Time Machine share for the wife's mac

I  have done a lot of surfing and the info on this is a bit all over the place.

(well at least o could not find a decent and V6 version of this)

so as best i understand it:

create a share with the following attributes:

name as "TimeMachine"

comment: time machine share

allocation method: fillup

min free: 0KB

Split Level: Manual

Included disks: (pick one)

Excluded disks: (  ??? i assume leave this empty if you only pick one disk above

use cache: NO

enable copy on write: No (i assume as we are only using one disk and and no cache drive.

But it all falls apart at the included disk.

It seems that when i try to create the share and i get to the section of the share that deals with "included drives" (default is 'all'  you click on it, and pop up come up with what i know should be a list of drives), but there is nothing there.

Some thing happens on the excluded drives section.

Am i being dumb or is there something wrong here?

I have included a screen grab.

Again sorry if this is a stupid question, its unraids fault being to reliable and all  :P

Hi All,

sorry for the time delay, was on holidays-ISH!

So i checked and I don't have any add blocking software installed in Firefox. Just to be sure i fired up IE and i get the same result.

**edit: i also disabled antivirus etc to see if that was affecting it, no luck.**

Anyone got any other ideas?

(all my other shares are spread over all the drives, so i have not had need to try this before)

Ok, so i think i have figured it out.

This might be just me being dumb or not reading the instructions properly.

So user TURL asked what i had in global share settings. it was set to all included and none excluded.

well after a bit of playing around i figured out that you need to set these fields to disk 1, disk2 etc before you can set anything else to use a single disk.

thanks for trying to help the noob
