Run the "Check for Updates" once more.  The older version of unmenu_install is unable to deal with the sub-directories that bjp999's myMain now uses for its graphics.  You just used unmenu_install to install a new version of itself.  (It was near the end of the listing you posted)  Yes, a lot of updates were available.

The new version of unmenu_install will be able to download the images to subdirectories.

You'll also need to re-start unMENU to see the new features.

Thanks. Rerunning it a second time worked just fine. Appreciate the updates.

With the update, I see a lot of these messages:

Any idea what this is?

It is also constantly saying 'unRAID SMU' requires a username and password? It isn't my root password it seems to be looking for? I can login via ssh with my root/password just not whatever unmenu is looking for?

This is probably the same issue reported earlier.

Can you try first logging into the normal stock supplied web-management page with your browser, using your id/password, and then trying the unMENU myMain page?

Using and logging into the normal stock web page works, but I had unMenu set as my default webpage so I can take a quick peek at my server before browsing or going wherever I need to.

I've changed my homepage for now.

What response was I expected to write?  I know you changed your home page. I have no immediate solution for that.  We're working on a solution for everyone.

Sorry, my bad, your response came after mine so I wasn't sure if you were trying to tell me to do something specific and my poor quoting skills somehow ate the response.

I also have been getting stuck in the installation process:

root@Tower:/boot/unmenu# unmenu_install -i -d /boot/unmenu

Unable to download release list from http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/release_list

I've been reading through the net, and I know this usually has to do with the gateway/DNS server issue or an old version of unRAID, but I've got both working/up to date, I've successfully pinged several websites, and even performed the "wget" command successfully.

So what's left to try?

What do you get when you type:

net lookup google.com

If that works what happens when you type:

wget -O /tmp/unmenu_release_list  http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/release_list

Never mind...

I just tried from here and got this:

wget -O /tmp/unmenu_release_list  http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/release_list

--2010-12-10 23:21:37--  http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/release_list

So... looks like the problem is at google.code.  Nothing you or I can do until it is corrected.

Joe L.

Oh, sweet!  I was wondering if that was all.  Thanks for the fast reply!

accessing google.code seems to work for me now.  Try again.

Tried updating my unraid a few minutes ago and I'm getting the same error:

root@Tower:/boot/unmenu# unmenu_install -u

Unable to download release list from http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/release_list

As I said in the prior post... try again.  (hint when you can click on the link in this post an see a list of checksums and files it should work from unmenu too.  Apparently googlecode.com  is having some issues.  Who knows, they may be being attacked with a denial of service flood.)

All I know is last night I was getting errors that said "Bad Gateway" and now I am not.

Hi Guys,

I just updated to the newest version of unMENU using the unmenu_install -u command. I'm running unRAID 4.4.2, and everything seemed to have installed properly. When I access the MyMain page the images seem to be broken.

Any ideas?

You need to be on a more recent version of unRAID for the images to be served.   We are working on a version that will work with older releases but for now, unless you upgrade your version of unRAID, you just have to deal with the lack of images.  You need at least unRAID 4.5-beta2 until I finish/test/publish the changes that will work with older versions of unRAID too.

Joe L.

Thanks for the quick reply Joe. That's no problem, my next step was upgrading to the newest unRAID version. I will upgrade now and posts results. I just wanted to make sure everything was OK with unMENU before upgrading.

Thanks!

Edit: Running 4.6, all images working!

I am having the same problem as CrashnBrn but i have been on the 4.6 final already when i tried the update. when i try to access the "MyMain" page the page prompts for my username/password for every image, if i try and put the root user/password it will not show any of the images. if i cancel all the images then right click on one of them and choose show image it will ask for the username/pass and when entered it will not show the image until you right click and show image again but this time it works for all missing images. i also tried rebooting the unraid server with no luck.

thanks

James

A fix for password protected root will be available soon.

What command are you using to initially start unmenu?  (it will give me a clue how to best fix the issue)

in any case, you can run the unmenu_install on the command line too.

log in via telnet as "root"

then type:

cd /boot/unmenu

./unmenu_install -c -d /boot/unmenu

./unmenu_install -u -d /boot/unmenu

./unmenu_install -u -d /boot/unmenu

The -c option will check for updates.

The -u option will perform the update.  (You'll probably need to run it twice, the first time will install a new version of unmenu_install that can be used the second time to download into sub-directories)

That last one is my fault.  I've uploaded the newer version of the syslog_match.conf file, but not the checksum in the release list.  (The release_list has the checksum of the prior syslog_match.conf file.)

You can put the newer syslog_match.conf file into place by typing:

cp /tmp/unmenu_tmp/syslog_match.conf  /boot/unmenu/

I'll be updating the release list today and get things back into sync.  You just caught me in the middle.
