[SOLVED] How to make linux guest enable MSI function on the GPU audio device?

I'm usually pretty good at navigating google.com, but this time I must admit it has been rather difficult. I'm not all a linux guru so that's not helping either.

 

So I'm having HDMI audio issues and was going to try this MSI fix. It's no problem finding the fix for windows on google, but linux is another story.. My GPU is MSI capable and is enabled by the VM. The GPU Audio device on the other hand is MSI capable, but are NOT enabled by the VM. So how do I get the linux (mint) guest to enable it? Has anybody at all tried this?

If you're using a Linux guest and find devices that aren't using MSI, use modinfo on the kernel module to see if it has an option to turn it on.

 

But i don't know where to start, even with that..

describe the audio problems. are you certain they are no caused by cpu pinning/assignment?

Yes!! Thank you! Seems to work now! This should be put in the wiki with the windows fix
