isvein
Do you have an example of that kind of cards? Not many to choose from here in Norway, but its always ebay. Quote Link to comment

miniwalks
Controller Card: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/IBM-ServeRaid-M1015-46M0861-SAS-SATA-PCI-e-RAID-Controller-9220-8i-/192161125988?hash=item2cbdb21664:g:Zg0AAOSw5UZY9Jmk Try to not buy them from China, but thats mainly due to a lot of them being copies/clones Breakout Cables: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mini-SAS-4i-SFF-8087-36P-36-Pin-Male-to-4-SATA-7-Pin-Splitter-Adapter-Cable-OK-/261775936632?epid=927974302&hash=item3cf30fcc78:g:pr4AAOSwAL9UcuX9 Search Terms in eBay: Controller: IBM M1015, IBM M1115 Dell H200i, Dell H310 LSI 9201-8i, LSI 9211-8i Cables: SFF-8087 to SATA breakout -- Do not get reverse breakout cables Should be sub 100USD for the lot, here in AUS you can get them a lot from server tear downs. miniwalks
but as Jonnie said, it will work, but if you can afford the better card, it will give you more flexibility for other drives if you install more (SSD's or case-transplant) Just my opinion Quote Link to comment
isvein
Thanks again, seems I need to look into ebay, because I found some LSI cards new here in Norway, but they start on 350USD (3000-3500NOK) Quote Link to comment
miniwalks
Wow, I could mail one from Australia to you for less than thatSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
isvein
So I did some search and came accross the LSI SAS3041E card, an 4port card. Looks to be an PCI-e 1.0 card, but for mecanical drives, that is more than fast enought. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
That's an older controller, it doesn't support >2TB disks. Quote Link to comment
isvein
dang Out looking for an newer 4port then. Quote Link to comment
