Upgrading Supermicro - X9SCM-IIF with SASLP-MV8

Hi guys,

was trying to upgrade my system :

Case: Lian Li PC d-8000

M/B: Supermicro - X9SCM-IIF

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30Ghz

Supermicro SASLP-MV8  REV: 1.00 controller

BIOS ver: 4.0.0.1800

With two extra cards AOC - SASLP-MV8 REV:1.01

I though they were Plug n Play so I simply installed in the PCI-E but firstly the did not worked and, after a reboot, even the original one (that always worked fine) is now giving me problems (is not working anymore)...

Any idea??

Thnx

I am reading around about a lot of issues related to this cards...

Yes there are, both the SASLP and SAS2LP are not recommended for v6+.

You can get any LSI with a SAS2008/2308/3008 chipset in IT mode, e.g., 9201-8i, 9211-8i, 9207-8i, 9300-8i, etc and clones.

They are Pnp?

9211-8i might need a flash to IT mode, but it's easy, like a bios update, the others I mentioned are all IT mode only and plug'n play.

Any compatibility issue with Supermicro M/B?

Not that I know of, I use several myself on the X9SCM-F, X9SCM-iiF, X9SCL-F and X11SSM-F
