HK-Steve
Hi Everyone, I have built a new 80Tb Tower3, copied everything off my old 2x 40Tb Towers 1 and 2. Now I would like to delete all the data on one of the old Tower2 so I can use the old Tower2 for other storage. The Tower1 will be discontinued as the Drives are to old. What is the best way to do this? Is there a way to delete everything at once? I ask because after Starting the old Tower2 with a new motherboard, CPU and Ram, it shows missing or incorrect hard drives. Appreciate your valued advice. Cheers Steve Link to comment
trurl
Stop array. Go to the settings page of each disk. Change its filesystem. Start array to format the disks. Repeat if needed to get back to the filesystem you want. Parity will remain valid since all format does is write an empty filesystem to the disk, and all writes to disks in the array maintain parity. JorgeB
Quickest way is to change the filesystem on all disks, format, if needed you can change back again to the initial fs and format again. Link to comment
