January 29, 20188 yr Hi All, I have dual 120Gb SSD drives as my cache pool. I'd like to replace them with 2 x 250GB SSD's. I've done a search, but can't find an article which describes how to do this.Found articles talking about how to replace single cache drives, but not when they are in a RAID-1 configuration as dual drives. I'm running version 6.3.5. I'm assuming I: 1. Shut down Unraid 2. Replace one of the drives 3. Start Unraid. Allow the Raid-1 sync? 4. Shut down Unraid 5. Replace the other drive 6. Restart Unraid. Wait for the RAID-1 sync Can you please confirm that's the most appropriate way to do the upgrade? Any gotcha's I need to be aware of? Thanks,
January 29, 20188 yr 1. Changes shares to array only 2. Run mover 3. New config change pool drives 4. Change shares back as required (prefer, use cache) 5. Run mover
January 29, 20188 yr Community Expert With v6.4.1-rc1 you can easily replace them one at a time using the GUI, for any prior release better to use the procedure below: https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/46802-faq-for-unraid-v6/?do=findComment&comment=511923
January 29, 20188 yr Author thanks for the help. I assumed (incorrectly by the sounds of it) that as it was dual cache drives that I might be able to swap out one at a time.
January 29, 20188 yr Community Expert You can, but pre v6.4.1 it would be more complicated than replacing the pool, but the procedure for doing it is in the FAQ if you want to do it.
