November 28, 201015 yr Tom desperately needs someone to handle his communications. He's too busy working to be bothered answering here all the time. Most small companies delegate such responsibilities so that they can stay focused on what's really important - the product. But if end users don't get constant feedback and that warm-and-fuzzy feeling that they are being heard, they get irritated, start looking for pitchforks and torches, and begin rioting and looting...
November 28, 201015 yr But if end users don't get constant feedback and that warm-and-fuzzy feeling that they are being heard, they get irritated, start looking for pitchforks and torches, and begin rioting and looting... Even large companies get that ... but then again with the Drive Extender being removed from WHS (Windows Home Server), MS deserves all the pitchforks and torches and rioting and looting the consumers can muster.
July 11, 201510 yr Can we get support for more controllers on the upcoming release? Specifically, I would like to be able to use my LSI MegaRaid controllers under JBOD mode. As things sit right now, without megaraid_sas kernel module support, drives attached to these controllers will not be presented to the underlying OS. Specific Model Number of my controllers: LSI Megaraid 84016E I have 4 servers housing 15 drives a piece under these controllers and would like to migrate away from Nexenta following the fall-out created by Oracle's purchase of Sun. I understand that I *could* always go to Hardware RAID as the controllers support it, however I would much rather have a solution such as yours where I can recover data from a single drive in the event of failure. I've also got a couple 84015e's, that I'm trying to get unRAID to recognize. Did this ever get resolved?
July 13, 201510 yr This is a really old thread, about a really old beta, and a LOT has happened since then. Please don't use it. Please ask about support for your controller in one of the Hardware boards, probably the disk controller board. I'm going to lock this topic.
