russlock
Hi all. I woke up this morning and had a quick look at the mainpage to see a red X next to one of the drive. Does this now mean it is dead or is there something i can do with it? i have attached the diagnostics as i have not re-booted or anything. thanks in advance. server-diagnostics-20181105-0739.zip Link to comment
JorgeB
Disk dropped offline, so there's no SMART, reboot or power cycle to see if it comes back online and post new diagnostics. Link to comment

It's not the same since disk2 is now back online, though it will still appear as disable since Unraid won't rebuild a disk automatically. Sisk is showing some SMART warnings, so I would recommend replace an rebuild, but if you want to give it another chance rebuild using the old disk. Link to comment

hernandito
IMHO If a drive shows SMART issues, I would replace. Link to comment

Setup Notifications to alert you by email or other agent. People who don't know immediately when they get a problem are the people who finally realize too late that they have multiple problems and can't recover. Link to comment

When i download the diagnostics and look at the smart report, what exactly am i looking for to determine that there are issues ? Thanks. Link to comment
hernandito
Go to the GUI, main screen, click on the hard drive in question. Halfway down you’ll see SMART reports. If anything look odd, google it and see how bad it is. not a super expert here. Link to comment
