I am seeing this same behavior.  Did you solve this?

No I haven't.. I had it facing the internet but have since just been using it locally now anyways. I cannot get the config to not show.

  • My apologies I am not too familiar with unraid using a custom network. unraid cannot use port mappings when the network type is not bridge because you have manually setup a different network to attach

  • @coupas looks like that might be related to issue #311 with this potential workaround to fix it? Either way this definitely an issue with whoogle rather than the unraid template so you'll get more hel

  • @coupas does this new release address your issue? https://github.com/benbusby/whoogle-search/releases/tag/v0.5.0

At some point I got it working and not sure what I exactly did.  But simply WHOOGLE_CONFIG_DISABLE set to 1 disables it.  I have nuked the container and tried multiple times and it works.  I know without a doubt I tried this before but dunno

thanks @jmztaylor for confiming what those types of values should be. I added that info to the main post.

Ever since the latest docker update, when I follow a link from the search and then click Back in the browser to go back to the results I get the following:

image.png.2ceefee12a6badb11eb6c7edbf089cfc.png

It used to just go back to the search results. While Firefox is my main browser, the same thing happens in Chrome, Edge, and Brave. Any ideas on how to fix?

Sorry for the newb question, but whoogle-search doesn't appear to be in my appdata directory. How do I find where it is installed?

Ignore... I ended up uninstalling completely and reinstalling. Apparently, the original docker was more limited.

For the last few weeks, Whoogle is showing the version as not available. Is anyone else seeing this?

I’m seeing it again. It’s a pain to have to keep reinstalling it.

Reinstalling it fixed the issue for me as well.

Spoke to soon. After deleting and re-installing Whoogle yesterday, it showed up-to-date. Today, it show not available again.

My searches are suddenly super slow. Nothing in the logs, except the tor warning. Reinstalling and purging appdata doesn't fix it

Is appdata / docker image on the array or in a cache pool?

Hi there,

Does anyone from Europe face issues with the GDPR consent since today in Whoogle? No matter what Query I get the consent and none of the buttons work for me.

It is already reported here to the Whoogle project:

https://github.com/benbusby/whoogle-search/issues/1053

But I don't know how to set that cookie or a VPN to outside the EU as workaround if I just installed

it on unraid using this package?

Any help is appreciated.

EDIT: I was able to just "Console into" Whoogle and change ~/app/request.py using vi and it works for the moment, however as soon as I upgrade, that file will get overwritten, as it is not on a volume but part of the docker image provided. But maybe this helps other users with the same issue who have Whoogle set as default search on their systems like me.

Found a workaround.

Hi All, I’ve been using whoogle through reverse proxy for a while now. Over the last several months, it randomly freezes, and I have to restart the docker. Has anyone else had this issue? There are no errors in the logs. I wonder if a reinstall would help.

HI All,

As of today, I just started getting an error that says my instance has been rate limited. The logs say it's a 503 CAPTCHA Error. F'ing Google. There doesn't seem to be a fix. I've read that this will eventually happen to self-hosted instances. Any ideas from the group?

Thanks Squid! Fixed it right up. No idea why I keep forgetting with Linux it's usually a permissions thing. LOL

I appreciate ya brother!

Could you please tell me where I would type that command for the container?  Thanks very much.

EDIT: Just read on the Github page about the ability to search without JavaScript. Guess the fight is over, we lost (

Does anyone have the same error message? I tried reinstalling but it didn't help. It worked fine before. Did Google kill the interface?
