May 24, 20206 yr Hi is there anyone having issue with unraid USB FLASH CREATER? I'm creating a backup flashdrive for my current unraid server but the usb flash creater just doesn't seems to see it. Please help.. Sandisk ultra fit USB3.1 16GB
May 24, 20206 yr You're apparently not alone. But in this situation it's easier to simply make it manually. Format the new flash as FAT32, name it UNRAID and copy all the files from one to the other. Then run make_bootable as administrator.

Actually all you really need is a copy of the config folder from flash so you can put it on a new install. You can download a zipped backup of your flash drive from Main - Boot Device - Flash - Flash Backup. Or you can schedule an automatic backup of flash with the CA Backup plugin. However you make the backup, you should get a new backup any time you make any configuration change you don't want to lose. It is especially important to use a backup with the correct disk assignments. Have you tried the usb flash creator with a USB2 port? USB2 ports are more reliable and especially recommended for booting Unraid.
May 25, 20206 yr Author Have you tried the usb flash creator with a USB2 port? - yeah i fact i tried all the usb ports. no luck. i guess it's like i saw at another forum, UNRAID is just not supporting newer flashdrive. thanks for all the info.
