Solutions

  1. Ccheese4's post in Multiple drives missing after MB/CPU hardware upgrade (related to LSI 9211-8i HBA??) was marked as the answer   
    for posterity, I solved my own problem shortly after posting about it. I just forgot to put the SATA power adapters back in line for those three drives. They are all Ultrastar HC520 drives that require a couple of the pins to be covered with tape (or for these adapters that ServerPartDeals included).
