  1. Does the NVMe disk have a heatsink? I have had issues in the past using a number of mini-PCs where the NVMe disks had very little cooling and would experience issues under heavy load - cheap aluminium heatsinks from Amazon resolved these issues. I always fit these now unless the motherboard or expansion card is supplied with a heatsink for NVMe disks.
  2. Main (Production) and test unRAID boxes successfully upgraded from 6.12.6 to 6.12.8 .
  3. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I will look for the enhanced notification for NVMe disks in the next version of unRAID. 👍
  4. Hello, I'm curious if other unRAID Users have been able to successfully "spin down" their NVMe based SSDs? I have HDDs, SATA SSDs and NVMe SSDs within my unRAID box. Both the HDDs and SATA SSDs all "spin down" after the configured amount of disk inactivity OR when I manually click on the 'spin down' icon within the MAIN tab. The (attached) screen shot shows one of my ZFS Pools that has both NVMe and SATA SSDs - the SATA SSDs "spin down" (enter low power mode) but none of the NVMe disks will spin down. I also have another Pool containing a pair of NVMe disks and this also fails to "spin down" any of the (NVMe) disks. When manually clicking on the 'spin down' button - the Server 'Log' shows an entry similar to the following for each NVMe disk: emhttpd: spinning down /dev/nvme0n1 emhttpd: sdspin /dev/nvme0n1 down: 25 I have also enabled the following BIOS options but these don't seem to change the behaviour for the NVMs 'spin down': PCI Express Native Control = Enabled PCIE ASPM Support = Enabled PCH PCIE ASPM Support = Enabled Not really a big issue as NVMe disks consume far less power than HDDs but it would be nice to have these consuming as little power as possible plus it would be nice to see them all "spun down" within the GUI. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks.
  5. Upgraded from 6.11.5 to 6.12.6 - smooth upgrade and I also managed to import both of my ZFS Pools (one with a 3-way mirrored special vdev) too. Great work from all the Team at Lime Technology. Eagerly awaiting version 6.13 for enhanced ZFS support and hopefully multi-Array support!
  6. Possibly - it was a USB stick that I had just sitting in a little pile of them... This is not a major issue and I will dig out another USB stick to continue my review of the 6.12.0 RC releases - although I'm pretty happy with the new features up to now with all my testing scenarios being successful. My focus has been on the new native ZFS support - I aim to move non-media files to ZFS but retain the existing "unRAID Arrary" for my media files. Thanks all for the comments and advice. I'll set this post to "solved".
  7. I've just re-read the above message - this is strange as I do not think I have requested ANY previous TRIAL license extensions? I've not previously clicked on any option/button to extend. Only thing I can think of is that it's automatically extended the TRIAL license period at some point? Yours confused...
  8. Tried rebooting - still no option/button to extend the TRIAL license period. 😞
  9. Unfortunately this just displays the following and no prompt to extend the trial license period:
  10. Hi All, I have been testing out the 6.12.0 RC (release candidate) builds using a USB stick within VMware Workstation. This has been working well and I have successfully tested a number of ZFS processes - importing ZFS pools created with the previous ZFS plugin, creating new ZFS pools and expanding ZFS pools (all within the unRAID 6.12.0 RC GUI). With the RC releases extending over a number of weeks, my TRIAL unRAID license has now expired but the prompt/button within "Tools -> Registration" does not appear (screen shot attached)? I can dig out another USB key but it would be nice to just extend the TRIAL license for another couple of weeks (the unRAID documentation says I can request up to 2 x 15 day extensions on top of the 30 day TRIAL license). Any advice welcome. Thanks. [Main unRAID Server running unRAID 6.11.5 PRO license, Intel i3-10100T, 64GB RAM, NVMe & SATA SSDs plus ~ 100TB SATA HDDs.]

  12. Yay! Beta7!!!! Les GOOOOO!!!!!!!
  13. Successfully updated from 6.11.4 to 6.11.5 .👍
  14. Upgraded from 6.10.3 to 6.11.0 - no issues for me (USB backup taken beforehand - just in case). Nice to see the VM Boot Order option added - I have a small number of autostart VMs and have now configured the boot order sequence on these. Lime Technology - keep up the great work!!!
  15. Unfortunately, the upgrade from 6.9.2 to 6.10.0 failed for me and I suspect it was due to the way I had DNS configured within UnRAID. I had the DNS Server settings within UnRAID configured to point to two Windows Server Virtual Machines (Windows Domain Controllers/DNS Servers) running within UnRAID - which are not available if the Array is down. I manually edited the NETWORK.CFG file on the USB stick to point to a public DNS Server (e.g. 8.8.8.8) and then restarted my UnRaid "Server" - bringing it back online. I also had a minor issue with one Docker Application which required deleting the "perms.txt" file within the AppData folder for the Application to reset the file system permissions. All other Docker Applications worked/started without issue. I also attempted to log on at the Console and remotely but both appeared to timeout after having entering the "root" username - the prompt for a password did not appear. I did leave it for a while but my main focus was restoring access to UnRAID. Diagnostics file attached. bigbox-diagnostics-20220518-0926.zip
