  1. I think you should make a new poll with two options 1. Put 3t in 5 now 2 wait till 5.1 This just narrows it down to what you want
  2. I want a stable system with AFP support as as soon as possible, I don't care about 3T support at this time. I have plenty of room to expand. What is the point of a road map if it is not followed. I don't think anyone on this forum is going to switch to another platform. Also if a new user is only worried about 3t support than unraid is not for them. I looked at all of them when I started and unraid offer more flexibility than all of them.
  3. 5.0 than add the extras like 3tb support. I want a stable os before anything.
  4. So do we have any idea yet when 5 might be officially released?
  5. OK, so its nothing to worry about but when did this start? I just noticed it
  6. well the little icon under permissions in osx shows two people so I guess it is a group but I have never seen this before?
  7. I also just noticed when I connect to my server from my Mac that under Permissions some files have root with read/write and some have myself with read/write access. The ones with root I can't change but the ones with myself I can. They all should have root and myself since I have it set up that way with user shares. Any idea?
  8. So I was coping some of my DVDs to my server and when I went to GET INFO on my Mac on the file I noticed a USER who has "read only" is on there. I never added anyone else, any idea what this is about, someone trying to hack into my system? They are on multiple files.
  9. I use a Mac mini to connected to my tv and it works great, it's on 24/7. My atv2 is connected to my tv upstairs and it works great with plex but I don't think you can install PMS on it
  10. http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/03/23/inside_mac_os_x_10_7_lion_server_apple_replaces_samba_for_windows_networking_services.html The upcoming release of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Server will remove the formerly bundled open source Samba software and replace it with Apple's own tools for Windows file sharing and network directory services. Apple began bundling Samba with Mac OS X 10.2, enabling Mac users to connect to Microsoft's Windows file and network directory services based on SMB (Server Message Block, a protocol also known as Windows File Sharing). In both Mac OS X Server and client editions, Samba enables Macs to share files with Windows clients on the network and access Windows file servers. It has also later allowed Mac OS X Server to work as an NT Domain Controller to manage network accounts and make roaming profiles and home directories available to Windows PC users. However, the Samba team has moved active development of the project to the more strict GPLv3 license, which prevents Apple from using the software commercially. Developers report that Apple has internally officially announced that it will pull Samba from Mac OS X Lion and Lion Server, and replace it with Windows networking software developed by Apple. Apple's Windows file sharing software in Lion will continue to allow Macs to both provide and access Windows-style file shares, but reportedly will not support the NT Domain Controller features of Samba, which relate to Microsoft's 1990's, NT-era directory service supported prior to Active Directory, which was released alongside Windows 2000. Despite its age, some networks still use NT Domain Controller configurations because of its relative simplicity compared to Microsoft's more modern Active Directory. Apple is now said to be recommending Active Directory to users who are still dependent upon the older NT Domain Controller network directory services. On the other hand, the version of Samba Apple had been using prevented Macs from seamlessly working with modern PCs running Windows 7, which include security changes in how encryptions protocols work. Apple's own software won't be constrained by the design limitation of Samba. End users could conceivably obtain Samba on their own and integrate it into their Mac OS X environment themselves, but Samba does not currently provide ready to use binaries for Mac OS X, and a pure port of Samba would lack Apple's easy to use user interface and tight integration with other Apple software, including Open Directory, the company's own directory services solution.
  11. LOL, well they said they made the other case also and its obvious a NORCO case, I hate when companies lie. I also found out the case is made by DYNAPOWERUSA http://dynapowerusa.com/dyna/ASP/RM_4U_EJ-4U519.asp
  12. Well, they just wrote back to me and they said they make the case, I find that hard to believe. They also sell a RM4030 that looks identical to a NORCO case and I just asked them who made that one. If they say they do than I know they are full of it.
  13. I did but incase they don't tell me I thought I would ask
  14. Anyone know who makes this case? http://www.rackmountmart.com/rm4u/rm4010.htm
  15. Don't wanna hijack the thread but I have two EARS drives both with jumpers and they both show up unaligned, is this correct? I formatted these under 4.5 with the old pre clear script about two months ago.
  16. And even then, you will likely need an AHCI mobo, and AHCI enabled in the BIOS. What does that mean?
  17. Got it, I just modified my script. Thanks for all your help, it's much faster
  18. well I just rebooted and they didn't mount in finder, any idea?
  19. Thank you, it's working now. Now one more question, how do I modify this so everything connects on startup? I can change the other once I know what to do. tell application "Finder" mount volume "smb://Tower/Documents" end tell
  20. Still nothing, any chance you can post some screenshots of what you have in unraid, disk utility and command - K?
  21. I type in this under disk utility and it verifies but I can't seem to get anything to show up under finder
