  1. I think language translation is making this hard for me to understand. Are you saying it might be damage resulting from inserting the wrong orientation? Would that be damage to the CPU or motherboard? Would you try the 2nd CPU. I am hesitant because that CPU has never been installed or had any thermal grease on it and I may need to return/sell it if the other one is working fine.
  2. I'm not sure I understand. What is it you are saying?
  3. Do they work in conjunction with each other or does the motherboard only read one? Just wondering if swapping the CPU might make it work.
  4. Only issue I am seeing is that the temp reads 0.0 for CPU1. I see that reading both in BIOS and IPMI. Been running Prime95 on Max for over 30 minutes so far. MB temp has only topped at 53C. Is the CPU sensor on the CPU or the MB?
  5. I literally just figured that out. Not a Linux guy if you couldn't tell. Thanks!
  6. I just copied mprime to /mnt and tried to run it. It says Permission denied.
  7. I have tried /home and /proc with no luck. /home still tells me Permission denied. /proc gives the following: root@Tower2:/# cp /boot/prime95/mprime /proc/mprime cp: cannot create regular file '/proc/mprime': No such file or directory I don;t have any drives installed. I'm just trying to test the system before putting into my case with drives and such.
  8. Yes, I am am booted into Unraid. What location would be in RAM?
  9. Not sure what you mean. I have that CPU running right now if that's what you're asking.
  10. I finally figured out the issue. I purchased the CPU used and it's my first ever Ryzen system build. So I've never dealt with this type of socket before. It turns out the previous owner must have removed the CPU from the orange, plastic holder and when they reinstalled it put it in backwards. I never thought to check that and only figured it out today because I ordered a new 2950X and when I went to install it noticed the CPU orientation was different between the two. rotated the used one in the holder and it works. Two motherboards, an extra PSU and an extra CPU later the problem is identified. What a mess this turned out to be.
  11. I am building a new system and wanted to stress test it a bit before I put it into production. I downloaded the Linux64 version, extracted it and copied mprime to the flash drive. When I run mprime it says Permission denied. Do I need to do something different? I running on a fresh flash drive and didn't register for unraid Trial because I wanted to keep this flash to just test systems before I put them on my Pro registered flash. Could this be the issue?
  12. No fan movement at all. If by debug code you mean a display on the two digit Led thing on the board, than nothing. Nothing ever displayed on that on either board.
  13. I decided to rebuild my server and I am have serious issues. Here's my hardware: AMD Threadripper 2950X (used) Asrock Rack X399D8A-2T (new) 4 x 16GB Kingston KSM26ED8/16ME (new) listed on the QVL for the motherboard I received all my components a couple weeks ago and set about putting it together. Problem is the motherboard would not power on. I would get the standby power and BMC heartbeat lights but nothing beyond that. PSU fan wouldn't spin, CPU fans wouldn't spin, no beeps or any other indicators. I could login to the IPMI and it woudn;t power on that way either. I thought maybe the PSU so I picked up a new one. Same thing. Contacted Asrock tech support guy and he had me try the system out of the case to eliminate a short. Didn;t help. The he had me reset the CMOS and give him BIOS version. Reset didn't help and he said the board must be bad. So I RMA'd it and just received the replacement. It's doing the exact same thing. I've tried just the bare board; just the board and CPU; and board, CPU and RAM. Doesn't matter. Acts the same no matter what. My big fear is that the CPU (which I purchased used) is bad. Would that cause this? If not, what the heck could be going on here? Any ideas?
  14. This is awesome! Thanks for all the hard work guys. I will be rebuilding my server in a couple weeks so I am going to wait until I install the new hardware before I start messing with this. Can't wait to check it out.
  15. I was wanting to stay at 16 cores, but I may consider it. Still doing some research and price comparing. Just curious... what do you run with your system?
  16. This is now a sore spot for me. I screwed around and missed the Newegg Deal! I finally sat down to place my order yesterday and, of course, out of stock! Now they're $929. I am so ticked off at myself for waiting. Not sure what I'll do now. Good info anyhow. Thanks for reporting!
  17. Thanks for the RAM info. Also, thanks for the generous offer on the 1920X. That's a good deal. But I am going to get the 2950X.
  18. Thanks so much for the detailed response! Especially including the links to BMC and BIOS. What model of SuperMicro RAM is that you're using. I'd be curious to compare it's price to what Asrock lists on their QVL list.
  19. Looking for the same info. Did you ever get it? NewEgg has the 2950X on sale for $599 which has me about to pull the trigger. The only issue is that I want IPMI and this seem to be the only available board that has it. Just want to make sure there won't be any issue with Unraid.
  20. Thanks! Good to know it wasn't my mistake and it is easy enough to recreate but it does create confusion until you figure what the issue is.. I initially tried to copy my docker.img to the new cached drive but Unraid tols me I needed to rebuild it. Any reason why it didn;t like the old one copied back over?
  21. OK, this is odd. I haven't actually looked at the cache usage since right after copying everything back to it when it was showing 211Gb used. It is now showing 129GB used. I haven't yet tried JorgeB's suggestion so that isn't it. I guess all's well that ends well. So I guess my last question is why did my custom Docker network disappear. Is that expected behavior or did I do something wrong that caused that?
  22. Diagnostics attached. tower-diagnostics-20200903-1847.zip
  23. So do I copy the vdisk off the cache drive and then copy it back with that switch?
  24. Rebooting unraid fixed the issue with unassigned drives. But now I have issues on a couple Docker containers. Radarr is not the V3 I was running and Sonarr will not launch the WebUI. THis combined with all the extra cache drive space being used now and this has been anything but a smooth and painless transition. I'm just not sure what I did wrong.
