Remove disk from cache pool to replace it by a new DATA disk
As simple as that! Thanks 🙂

Remove disk from cache pool to replace it by a new DATA disk
Thanks for your quick reply! No, the new disk will join the data disks, and this pool (Plex_Transcode) must be deleted.

Remove disk from cache pool to replace it by a new DATA disk
Hello, I had a 2nd pool made up of an SSD disk intended for Plex transcode. This disk had SMART errors and I would like to remove it from the configuration and replace it with a DATA disk. The new DATA disk is being pre-cleared. I stopped the array, assigned the “Plex_Transcode” disk as no-device and then physically disconnected this disk. It now appears as “Not Installed”. I have a basic license and I'm afraid that the new data disk can't be added as long as the “Plex_Transcode” disk is still displayed as “Not Installed”. What's the best way to do this? Do I need to go to Tools -> “New config” and re-arrange my drives? Thanks for your help

After a full power cycle and verifying all connectivity, I have acces to SMART log and a full SMART test is successfull but the disk is still in error state. How can I recover this disk in a proper state?

Parity disk in error state (disk dsbl)
Dumb question : What do you mean by "Full Power Cycle"? Does the GUI Shutdown button perform a Full Power Cycle? If I need to change the SATA cables, I'm planning to shut down the server anyway.

Parity disk in error state (disk dsbl)
Hello I woke up this morning with an email from the unraid tower : Event: Unraid Parity disk error Subject: Alert [FORTRESS] - Parity disk in error state (disk dsbl) Description: WDC_WD60EFAX-68JH4N1_WD-WX42D51N5925 (sdg) Importance: alert Parity disk - WDC_WD60EFAX-68JH4N1_WD-WX42D51N5925 (sdg) (errors 2048) The SMART report of this disk is light : smartctl 7.4 2023-08-01 r5530 [x86_64-linux-6.1.79-Unraid] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-23, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org Smartctl open device: /dev/sdg failed: No such device And I can not show the SMART error log as there is nothing to show: I can't start a SMART extended self-test. I haven't tested the sata connections yet, but I'll do that tonight. If you have any tips, I'd love to hear from you. [Plugin] Appdata.Backup
Thanks for your answer Where does the original archive come from? Does appdatabackup generate the “xxx-flash-backup-xxx.tar” file and then copy it, or does it take it from somewhere? I attached the debug log in my previous post

[Plugin] Appdata.Backup
Hello, I use Appdata.backup to schedule my backups, especially the one of the USB flash drive. All the backups go well except when I have to copy the backup from the flash drive to the destination. It worked a while ago and I can't explain why it doesn't work anymore. The archive is corrupted at the destination, which is a cloud share mounted using rClone. Appdata.backup manages to copy a large 10Gb Plex archive to the destination. [Plugin] Appdata.Backup
Never saw this one before. Tar is telling, it could only write x blocks from y. How is the destination connected to Unraid? Is it a network path or an internal drive? It is a network Path. I've just tried it locally, it works perfectly. It could be that it's coming from the network path then. Is the tar done locally and then sent, or is it done directly on the target? Thanks

Strange behavior of the "Main" tab in the GUI
Hello everyone, I'm turning to you because I have a really strange issue on my unRaid. As you can see in the video below, I'm getting some weird behavior on the "Main" tab. Disks appear and disappear without me explaining it or doing anything about it. I get the same behavior regardless of the browser (Brave / Firefox or Chrome) and sometimes I even lose control of the GUI. I don't log on to the GUI every day, so I don't know how long I've had this problem. I have no other worries, everything works fine (Plex Docker / Tautulli etc). It's only with the "appdata backup" plugin that I also have a problem, but I don't know if it's related. I'm getting incomplete write errors: [14.01.2024 14:31:10][❌][jDownloader2] tar creation failed! tar said: zstd: error 70 : Write error : cannot write block : Input/output error; tar: /mnt/disks/Backups_Plex/BackupPlex/ab_20240114_143016/jDownloader2.tar.zst: Wrote only 2048 of 10240 bytes; tar: Child returned status 70; tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now I'm going to open another topic on the support thread for this plugin. Have you ever seen a similar problem? Before restarting the machine, I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks for your help Main.webm fortress-diagnostics-20240114-1624.zip

[Plugin] unbalanced
Hi there ! I've seen a few exchanges on this thread about support for "unassigned devices" disks. I'm a new unraid user, and I have about 8 TB of data to copy to my newly installed Unraid! I used Unbalance to move data from a "POC" disk to my unraid cluster, and this tool convinced me not to use the rsync scripts I had prepared... My question is simple, does Unbalance now support unassigned disks? When I connect my disk and go into unbalance, I unfortunately don't have the option of selecting it. If anyone would like, I can also share my copy scripts. Thanks !
