So, to measure without hdmi consumption I just repeat the process , disconnect hdmi, and see how power consumption goes down as normally does when c8 package is reached. So would be great, developers, who I guess control much more about this kind of forums and issues, could answer this question, providing a short intructions to achieve what you say: the more people are reporting the, the higher is the chance that this issue will be solved. So this plugins achieve to change it on the fly? can source code of drivers be modified from here and apply them directly for testing purposes? Great digging work. I think is fixable. I have read more than once that: Modification are isolated to the r8169 driver So maybe some of us could be lucky at the end. I've also seen this code at this patch: if (rtl_aspm_is_safe(tp)) substituting one if(enabled) , which give me hopes. But I don't even know if this patch arrived until release. So, at the end of the second link, someone comments about the issue, but is redirected to create a new bug. It's a pitty that N100DC-ITX increase its idle power by 25%, because from my point of view, this board is the best or one of the best prize-powerConsumption-transcodingCapabilities performance solutions. Have you found any solution for this? I installed Unraid for the first time 6.12.6. Disconnecting ethernet, I found out that the problem to go beyond C3 was it. Then I saw these completely right complaining post yours. There is no way to change the drivers in newer versions? We should avoid new versions forever and ever if we want to save those 2W?

I am testing 12V one for same board. Works for me too, but What's the counter part of this. I mean, when complete system board+cpu+gpu+disk are under stress, what can happen? Doesn't reach performance? Which proportion?

Install Ubuntu where? at usb or nvme disk? By now, without ethernet and with hdmi,I have reached C8 state. I don't know the difference between C8 and C10 and if I should get C8 . ASPM command output remains the same: with realtek ethernet Disabled. I've found this, same board. Probably same issue:

I am using n100dc-itx, crucial nvme 16 gb crucial ram 3200 cl22 sata controller asm 1166 without any disk connected to it using two different external powerbrick transformers. I've got two by the way19V and 12V (I've readed here 12V is valid, but I guess I won't be able to get normal speed performance) ssh connection (no keyboard, gui, or hdmi at this moment) My power measurer hasn't arrived yet, so no measures by the moment. After activating every power consumption measure at the bios (c-states,asp,)reproducing your steps: Ok,looks fine but: As yo can see I don't go beyond C3. ASPM: CPU freq: too much? So:, my doubts: No need to update asm 1166 firmware I guess. But ethernet controller is disabled. Maybe is not possible?
