  1. I updated UD to 2023.08.17a, I see the same faded "Reboot" symbol even after stopping unraid & full re-boot. My scenario is a little different as the share is still accessible via SMB. I like the ability to move, delete, rename files in this UD share from the Unraid UI. How do I get that feature back?
  2. My array won't stop. Looking at the syslog I see this over and over. Disk 4 is completely empty, is excluded from all my shares, docker service is stopped, and VM Service is stopped. What can I do? Jul 25 11:02:24 MediaTower emhttpd: Retry unmounting disk share(s)... Jul 25 11:02:29 MediaTower emhttpd: Unmounting disks... Jul 25 11:02:29 MediaTower emhttpd: shcmd (21716): umount /mnt/disk4 Jul 25 11:02:29 MediaTower root: umount: /mnt/disk4: target is busy. Jul 25 11:02:29 MediaTower emhttpd: shcmd (21716): exit status: 32 After 45 minutes the array finally stopped. False Alarm.
  3. Same issue here, running "unraid-api restart" does not fix the problem for me.
  4. I too would like to hear about plug-in vs baked-in functionality. I am amazed that something like Unassigned Devices is not Native Functionality. Also, any plans to add guardrails for long-time users like me? I have been a user since 2009 starting with 1 TB drives. I started with ReiserFS and never paid attention. I've done numerous hardware and drive upgrades over the years with no issues. Recently I picked up an 18TB drive. I had no idea that ReiserFS was being deprecated. Pre-Cleared the Drive and all is good. Replaced an aging 8TB data drive with the 18TB Drive. Started having issue shortly after the re-build was complete. I ended up putting the 8 TB Drive back in using the "New Config" Method. Formatted the 18TB Drive as XFS then followed the guide to migrate my data off of each drive using unBalance. I've already learned my lesson and suffered the pain of converting my data drives from Reiser to XFS. I didn't lose any data but there was no warning or error message when trying to add an 18TB data drive to the array with an invalid FS. What made it worse was the fact that I had already been running with an 18TB drive(in the Parity Slot) for months with no issues at all. In my mind I had no cause for concern when it came time to replace 8TB with 18TB.
  5. After days of clearing data from Reiser Drives to XFS Drives i am finally finished. All of my drives are formatted as XFS. Sigh of relief that I didn't lose any data. There were a few things that confused me. In summary 1. Pre-cleared an 18TB drive. 2. I stopped the array and replaced the 10TB drive with the 18TB drive. 3. Started the array to re-build the 18TB from parity. i started getting errors shortly after the re-build completed. Soon after that the drive was marked as umountable. 4. Stopped the array, pulled the failed 18TB Drive. 5. New config--> Preserve All. 6. Put the 10TB drive back where the failed 18TB was located. 7. Mark parity as valid and start the array. At this point I am back to original state. I took the failed(by failed I mean drive was making all kinds of clicking sounds that were not normal) 18TB drive back to Best Buy for an Exchange. New 18TB drive into the server for Pre-Clear. Formatted Drive XFS. Followed the process in the "Upgrade Fliesystem" document - emptied each Reiser drive, format, then fill with data. i am a little suprised that i never got a warning when i attempted to re-build in steps 3 above. i don't remember the format procedure the first time, i don't remember being asked for a File Syste Type.
  6. Got it, thank you for clarification!
  7. I am working my way thru upgrading my server from ReiserFS to XFS, following the steps in the "File System Conversion" Document. I have 3 data drives(14/12/10) and a new 18TB drive formatted as XFS. So far I have 1. Emptied the 14TB Drive using UnBalance 2. Stopped the Array 3. New Config to Preserve 4. Changed positions of the swap drive and the Reiser data drive I emptied. 5. Start Array with the "Parity is Valid" option. Now I am ready to start emptying the 12TB Data Drive to the 14TB Swap Drive. At this point I need to format the Empty 14TB Drive as XFS. How do I do this while it's already in the array?
  8. Yes I am also working now thank you for all of your assistance! Can I turn down the Debug Level in UD Settings?
  9. I have never turned on SMB Security. Those users were created in an earlier version of unRaid. I did uDev and Hotplug and toggled the share. mediatower-diagnostics-20230220-1017.zip
  10. I toggled the share option on/off while it is mounted. No change in results. SMB Security, where is that located? I don't think I have ever seen that option screen.
  11. This how I have it setup, am I missing something? Disk: Share:
  12. Same issue here. Visible internally to Sab/Sonarr/Krusader but no longer visible from Windows 10 clients on my network. This happened within the last few days. mediatower-diagnostics-20230220-0812.zip
  13. I have a share(Download) that exists on an unassigned HGST 4TB Drive. I use it for all of my sabnzbd downloads. This has been working fne for over a year but now I can't access any of the files on the share after i mount. The share is not available on any of my windows clients. Sabnzbd can't find this share anymore. I can see the share in Krusader but it shows empty. I can browser this share from the Unraid Main Page and see folders and files. Am I missing something here? Checked Syslogs but I don't see anything eventful.
  14. My parity re-build completed this morning. I formatted the 18TB Drive as XFS and started the Pre-Clear with Pre and Post Read. This process is going to take a long time. I shrunk my array from 4 to 3 drives last year. It took forever to empty a 6TB Drive using UnBalance. Cant wait to see how long it will take this time.
  15. Thank you I will re-build. Long-term I need to get these drives away from Reiser. I was reading the LimeTech document about how to migrate away from Reiser. Why can't I just replace my drives 1 at a time with a new XFS formatted & Pre-Cleared Drive, then Re-Build from Parity? Does the data migration have to involve Rsync or the Unbalance Plugin?

  17. I stopped the Array, went to tools --> New Config. Choose "All" for Preserve Current Assignments. Clicked the "Yes i want to do this" checkbox and then clicked "Apply". Went back to the Main Tab and changed Disk 1 to the original 10TB Drive. I Started the array. The array came up but started a Parity Sync. I cancelled it immediately. I browsed my shares and it looks like I have everything except a couple movies/shows that I added in the last couple days. Now my array is online and everything is running. My Parity Drive says that Parity is Invalid. There is no "check parity" button. The only option I see is a "Sync" button which says "Sync will start Parity-Sync and/or Data-Rebuild. " I just want to be sure that clicking the "Sync" button will re-build the Parity Drive but not write anything to my data drives. I don't want to lose any data.
  18. Oh wow that is a big undertaking. I am so screwed. I picked up a new 18TB drive and rebuild from parity. See the screenshot below where Disk 1 is showing invalid size. I take it "EB" is short for Exobytes? My default FS in Disk settings is XFS but this drive was formatted as Reiser. On top of all of this my parity build just completed. My Movies share is empty even though it still shows as 4.7TB computed space. I have never done the New Config Option before, can someone walk me through it?

  20. Long-time Unraid user here first time I've ever had an issue with a drive. My server spent the last 5 days preclearing and building a brand new 18TB WD Drive from parity to replace a 10TB Drive. Preclear and Parity build completed yesterday with no errors. I got up this morning and see that the same 18TB Drive is now unmountable. Where do I go from here? I have the original 10TB Drive, it's still in the server but unmounted. In looking thru SysLog I see this: Feb 13 11:21:56 MediaTower kernel: REISERFS warning (device md1): journal-1207 journal_read_transaction: REPLAY FAILURE fsck required! Block to replay is outside of filesystem Feb 13 11:21:56 MediaTower kernel: REISERFS warning (device md1): reiserfs-2006 journal_init: Replay Failure, unable to mount Feb 13 11:21:56 MediaTower root: mount: /mnt/disk1: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/md1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error. 21. I just completed a Parity Rebuild, replaced a 10TB drive with an 18TB drive for additional storage. Process completed with no errors. I have a share(Tunes) that holds my music collection. I tried to add an album to this share from a windows client and got the error below. I also tried it from Krusader and got a "could not create folder" error. Everything else(VMs, Dockers, etc) seem to be working otherwise. mediatower-diagnostics-20230213-0657.zip
  22. This Windows 10 VM was working fine before the OS Upgrade 20 6.10.1 but now VM never shows up on the network after I start it. Works fine if I turn off PassThru and use VNC instead. I am using a 750TI. Any ideas?
