[CONTAINER] CrashPlan & CrashPlan-Desktop
I have stopped the Crashplan docker until this get fixed. It's generating a lot of stress and heat on the HDDs and CPU because it's constantly restarting a scan over the same files again and again . Does it has something to do with the Crashplan 4.8.0 release maybe? My Crashplan docker's log is plagued with the same error repeating constantly: ./run: line 20: 6452 Killed $JAVACOMMON $SRV_JAVA_OPTS -classpath "$TARGETDIR/lib/com.backup42.desktop.jar:$TARGETDIR/lang" com.backup42.service.CPService > /config/log/engine_output.log 2> /config/log/engine_error.log /opt/startapp.sh: line 22: 6572 Killed ${JAVACOMMON} ${GUI_JAVA_OPTS} -classpath "./lib/com.backup42.desktop.jar:./lang:./skin" com.backup42.desktop.CPDesktop > /config/log/desktop_output.log 2> /config/log/desktop_error.log ERROR: openbox-xdg-autostart requires PyXDG to be installed

[Support] Linuxserver.io - Transmission
Hi, I used previously Transmission docker by gfjardim and as now is deprecated I moved to Linuxserver one, trying to keep the settings (the ones behind the Wrench icon), but they are not saved anymore . Even if I delete settings.json, and the docker create them again, every time I restart the docker, all is restored to the default settings again . What am I doing wrong? I just kept the old settings just to keep the old torrents I previously downloaded, but even if I delete the whole "transmission" folder within appdata folder, so your plugin recreates it from scratch, settings are not saved . Here're my settings: Container Path: /config /mnt/disk3/appdata/transmission/ Container Path: /downloads /mnt/user/MEDIA/ Container Variable: PUID 99 Container Variable: PGID 100 By the way: what are these PUID and PGID settings for?

The problem is when they're bundled together it's more points of failure within the container and updating these becomes a nightmare. Regardless whether the nextcloud/mariadb interface is within the container or on the host it's the same process, so I disagree with your assessment of it increasing the points of failure. Have you looked at the Nextcloud thread and specifically the install guide I've written for it? OK! As I told, I'm not a programmer, so I thought there would be less points of failure for us the users About the guide, yes, I took a look at the guide here: https://www.linuxserver.io/index.php/2016/07/28/installing-nextcloud-on-unraid/ I decided to stop reading at "Setting Up An Apache Reverse Proxy" . Just too much to what I'm looking for . Anyway, again, thank you very much for your answers! Setting up the reverse proxy is an optional step. I didn't know. Then I could maybe give it a try . Thank you again!

We have a Nextcloud container, but we never really formally released owncloud, although we did have a version in our beta repo. Hi Linuxserver.io team! Does it means Owncloud docker will be deprecated and you'll keep updating only Nextcloud? I'm looking for a centralized cloud without worrying about space (I'm tired of Dropbox/iCloud/Google Drive EULAs and prices). I see that the simplest to install and use would be Owncloud, as it includes the DB and everything needed to deploy it, but after this comment I'm not sure if I should install it if I want long term reliability. Thanks for all your dockers! You guys are making unRAID even more awesome! I can't see the point in continuing with two essentially identical applications and I guess we'll stick with nextcloud. Regardless we are certainly moving away from bundling applications together, so at this point I would advise not using the Owncloud container with bundled DB... Thanks for your fast answer! Sad to read you'll not bundle them together . Nextcloud/Owncloud could be more popular if it were easier to install . To me, more independent dockers just mean more points of failure . I've tried Owncloud in the past installed in a hosting provider, and it was difficult to keep it running smoothly (I'm not a programmer or web developer). So I think I'll keep looking for other solution.

Check your network settings. Dns and gateway. I doubt if anything on the server can communicate with the outside world Sent from my LG-D852 using Tapatalk Thanks for your answer! I think I found something weird inside unRAID . I'm using static IP address and I have also to add manual DNS. I used my router's IP (192.168.1.1) but the moment I mount the shares it changes to a different DNS server (169.254.238.60, maybe provided by my ISP, but it's different from the one my Mac is using, being in the same network). Also, if I manually set 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as the DNS servers, it keeps using just 169.254.238.60. I don't know what's going on here . It has been working without problems since 2 years ago . Some dockers are failing too now . Not sure. I recall seeing something like this in the last month or so and it had something to do with the bonding setup. Only suggestion I can come up with initially is to delete config/network.cfg from the flash drive and reboot and try it all again (may have to connect back to the gui via the ip address which you'll be able to get from the router as unRaid'll be set back to dhcp) IMO the best way to set up static IPs is to leave the IP address in unRaid as dhcp, and set up the static via the router (that way if you ever replace the router and it hands out addresses on a different subnet everything in your network will still work). You may still have to assign DNS addresses however PROBLEM FIXED: Thanks for your suggestion! After many different things, deleting the network.cfg file, even deactivating the ISP router and using a different one, I found some network cable should be doing some weird thing, because after just removing and plugging back all of them to the switch I have, everything is back to normal, also with the ISP router. In my opinion, network issues are the worse ones, because they can cause the weirdest problems one can imagine . My "unRAID AppStore" is installed again and working great! By the way: Thank you very much for it! It has changed how I enjoy unRAID since it got installed into my server

[Plug-In] Community Applications
Hi! I wanted to install an "app" today, and I found it was impossible to CA to update or download the apps list. Then I came here and I read the last stable update should be from 9.5.2016, but the one I had installed inside my unRAID was from 8.28 I think. It was impossible for my unRAID server to find a newer release, so I took a risky way: I deleted Community App plugin and I'm trying now to reinstall it and it fails constantly . So now I've missed my whole beloved "unRAID AppStore" . Is it just me or is it happening to anybody else? Here's the error: plugin: installing: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg plugin: downloading https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg plugin: downloading: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg ... failed (Network failure) plugin: wget: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg download failure (Network failure)

[support] gfjardim's Docker Repository
Ooook! Thanks for your answer Squid! . Would it be possible to "migrate" from one docker to the other without missing settings and queue? Is it true? I cannot find any information about that inside the forum Here's gfjardim's comment, but I'd say that if you are having no problems, then there is no reason to switch No idea on what's happening. It's being an era since I updated this container, and I'm considering deprecating it. I do recommend you to migrate to Linuxserver's one. Best regards.

Dynamix File Integrity plugin
Hi, This plugin seems to be great, but I have many questions about this before installing it, and I think many of us also have them. I would love to find a place in this plugin first post with FAQ like: - Does this replace the necessity of the monthly parity check? - Does it needs to be periodically checked too? If yes, how often is it recommended? - How long it takes compared to parity? - Aren't too many integrity/parity checks dangerous to the drives themselves? - Does this plugin affects the server performance when reading/writing many small files? I have several uses for my unRAID server: one is to store media, and while movies and series are easily replaceable, music would be worse, and I also store important files and work folders, so being able to just focus in the "Protect these folders" selection would be fantastic to me.

It's not warmfull, just complaining about the absence of a IPv6 interface. It shows even if I disable the IPv6 interface, so i gave up. OK! Then I'll say you again: Thank you, thank you and thank you for mixing The Desktop with the main docker!

[CONTAINER] CrashPlan & CrashPlan-Desktop
Thank you, thank you, and thank you for this very welcome update!!! Fantastic idea to merge a desktop inside the docker!! It's awesome!! Just one thing: when I opened my unRAID setup page, I found there was an update of the docker available, and I just updated it. In the last step of the update I got an error, something like removing something after the update. It seems to work fine, but I get a few errors on the log: Warning: could not find self.pem No installed websockify, attempting to clone websockify... _XSERVTransSocketOpenCOTSServer: Unable to open socket for inet6 _XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for inet6/GALEON:1 _XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for inet6 _XSERVTransmkdir: ERROR: euid != 0,directory /tmp/.X11-unix will not be created. Is this dangerous? Is there any way to fix it? Maybe reinstalling the docker without deleting the user preferences?

[CONTAINER] CrashPlan & CrashPlan-Desktop
Hi, While Crashplan docker works flawlessly to me, Crashplan Desktop docker fails many times. I know it's just because both main and desktop Crashplan dockers must match, they need to have exactly the same release. If not, the client is not allowed to connect to the server. And because the maintenance of the CP Desktop docker seems to be slower (Don't get me wrong, I'm really grateful for both ones! ), I'm thinking about a simple idea which could help a lot and simplify the maintenance: as the Crashplan Desktop container is working inside a virtual linux release, which has internet access, why don't let it auto upgrade to the last Crashplan software version? I'm just trying to help both users and developer of the dockers to simplify both lives at once

I don't use transmission, but there's probably a folder setting within it that specifies where the temporary download folder is stored. Change it to be a mapped new mapped volume Thank you Squid! I found the issue! It was a mistake with upper and lower case (the mapped folder was all upper case, and the shared folder was only the first). So I think that folder was created inside the img, or waiting in RAM, or something weird. I corrected it, and now the usage is back to 50% and the files are correctly being downloaded . Thanks for your tips!

(SOLVED) Transmission docker and temp files. I get "Docker high image disk utilization" error. UPDATE: solved here. My mistake : http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39227.msg415107#msg415107 Hi! I'm using Transmission docker, and each time I use it, unRAID sends me warnings about "Docker high image disk utilization", and when download is finished, I regain free space again, so I guess the temp files while downloading are stored inside the docker img file. What can I do to have them out of the docker? Is it an expected behavior? Today I can't even download, it seems it's stuck with the files inside the img and they can't be bring out to the Downloads folder Thanks in advance!

Dynamix - V6 Plugins
I agree with your comment. Of course, I appreciate the development done in UnRAID 6! I find it fantastic, and even Dockers are quite easy to use! And the analogy to check the car oil, I agree too, we must be able to do that, but you don't need a course to check the oil and liquids: there are "max" and "min" readings on the needle to make our life easier. We don't need to learn about engines manufacturing, to learn now much oil should we use. I hope you know what I mean. Of course, if I want to tune my car for races, I need to learn deeply about engines and cars. So for advanced unRAID use (like VM), I understand one needs console skills. But for a temp monitor, it should be easier. Again, I don't complain about your plugin AT ALL, please, don't misunderstand me! I really appreciate your help and your plugins! I just want to share my opinion, trying to be constructive and polite, about what unRAID COULD do to get more users. I love it, and I want more people using it!

I can tell you are almost certainly a long time Windows user! You've a lot to learn about Linux! First thing to learn is Linux is case-sensitive, and by convention prefers lower case, so you don't want to use all caps like you have been. You mentioned PACKAGES and Packages folders, and while you can create those, you absolutely don't want to, as the only one that unRAID uses is packages. You could create all 3 folders, and have them visible simultaneously, but anything you put in the other 2 won't be seen by unRAID. And I'm absolutely sure you did not see .TXZ files in that folder, they had to have been .txz files to be usable. Using all caps is going to create a lot of confusion for yourself. FAQ, unRAID Console section - old but still useful I strongly recommend you spend a little time on the info found in the FAQ, unRAID Console section. I think it will help answer some of your questions, such as the /boot folder. Even in Windows, paths can be different depending on how you map them. You can assign different drive letters and access the same file through a different path. If you were to name your unRAID server MyStuff, then assign a drive letter of U: to the flash drive, then you could access flash root files as \\MyStuff\flash\*.* or as U:\*.* . unRAID maps it as /boot, so you would access the same files on the console as /boot/* . As to the temp monitor, you can blame much of that on the manufacturers, as there hasn't been much call for standardization previously. Tools like SpeedFan on Windows have taken a long time and a lot of code and a built-in database of info in order to analyze and dig temps out of all the mobos out there. The Linux tools are catching up though, and sensors and sensors-detect and the lm-sensor project have been gathering up info to make it easier. The System Temp plugin is a fairly new tool to automate this, and except for a brief hiccup over Perl, has made it a lot smoother than it used to be. (It's almost too bad that you weren't here to see how much harder it used to be!) And I'm quite sure that it's going to be getting even smoother in the near future, great people behind it! Thank you for all your explanation, but not, I'm not a Windows user . I have used many OS out there. I began with DOS, Windows, then tried many Linux flavors (Mandrake, Mandriva, Fedora, Ubuntu, Linux Mint) and now I'm a Mac user. I know about upper and lowercase, I just wrote it with upper case to make it more visible. In my Linux experience, I never saw to call /boot/ the system folder. It was always / And thanks for your recommendations, but I don't want to learn about the command line. And I think a normal unRAID user shouldn't need it too. I've discussed with many Linux users about that for years. Many find the console very easy and powerful. I HATE IT, and I promise you, most of the people out there does too. You need time, and to learn a lot of commands to use it properly. One needs to remember all those commands, and it also needs a lot of trial & error time. But computers evolved, and GUIs came, and people love them because they make life easier for most of us. They are much more visual and human-friendly, and I love them, so the less I have to deal with the console, the better. My point is that, if unRAID want to go mainstream, console should be avoided from most normal situations . It's just my opinion

/boot/extra means this is the top level folder extra on your flash drive. If you have remote access to your flash drive from your Windows machine, you can just open windows explorer and create the folder extra. Then copy the just downloaded .txz file to that folder. No the folder packages is not used. Once on the temperature settings page turn on Help, which gives you more background information. Btw Help is now available for many pages and settings, make use of that! Basically do: Detect -> Save -> select sensors Thank you! I did it and it worked!

Hello, While I like how stable is unRAID, when I want to add a simple thing like a temp monitor, I don't like how complex it is, and how much time I need to research about how to do it, and to find the right post with the latests information . Sorry, it's not your fault, but I think unRAID needs to be much more easy in the future if they want to go mainstream . Can I ask where am I suppose to find the /BOOT/EXTRA/ folders? My flash drive has no /BOOT/ folder, and I'm not sure if I should create one and copy the Perl libraries there or I didn't understand it and the BOOT folder is somewhere else . I've read that another folder called "PACKAGES" can be used. I have a Packages folder, but from /, not inside BOOT, and that folder contains also other .TXZ files. Is that the place? Do I need to do also all the things explained on the WIKI article? https://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_CPU_and_board_temperature_sensing I understand there're tons of mobos out there, but this complexity just to check temps is incredible .
