  1. Dockers should not be affected by the changes from 6.0 to 6.1, only some plugins. Just updated from 6.0.1 to 6.1.2... forced me into an update of crashplan 4.3 from 4.2. Great work here! Thanks. I have the advanced extra paramater in both crashplan and desktop dockers... is this correct? It appears to be working. The extra parameter "--volumes-from CrashPlan" is only needed in the CrashPlan Desktop Docker.
  2. You are almost there….! The folder you are looking for is unRaid. That folder is mapped to your folder Q located in the share called Other. So just browse for the unRaid folder in the MakeMKV file dialogue.
  3. yes, if I can watch the splash screen not progress, then I have logged in. Yes version 4.3.0. Yes that splash screen just sits there indefinately. I don't see the "can't connect to engine" message. I am running out of ideas… You could check the available space for the Docker.img so that you not are running out of space (Settings, Dockers) just to be on the safe side. Have you tried to uninstall the CrashPlan Desktop Docker (including its image) and reinstall it again?
  4. Not that much that could/should go wrong with the CrashPlan Desktop Docker. Assume you able to connect with Remote Desktop and login with the username ubuntu. After that you should see the CrashPlan splash screen. It should display version 4.3.0 in the lower left corner. Is this where you get stuck? Also check your CrashPlan Desktop Docker settings. Should be as the pic on page 5 in the tutorial located in my signature.
  5. Haven’t done this move myself but here are some thoughts… Regarding permission I believe that it should be Owner ID 99 and Group ID 100 however I believe that this is taken care of when you install this Docker (at least for me). Also suggest checking you Docker mapping so that Plex can see your folders and the Plex is setup to match that.
  6. It does. Look in advance settings and set the Variable Name PLEXPASS to 1 in the section Environment Variables. Edit: See update in post below.
  7. You can try with Settings, Display settings, Show banner: Yes and at Custom banner select your banner. Doesn’t work for me on 6.1-rc6 but you can always go to the folder /boot/config/plugins/dynamix and put your banner there.
  8. If the CrashPlan Desktop Docker is unable to connect something must have happened with the CrashPlan Docker. I assume it is running, can something changed your config folder, where is the config folder stored, if it is on the cache drive can it have been moved/changed? You might have a look on the Guide in my signature to see if that can help. The CrashPlan Docker was running. I didn't change anything in my config folder. The config is stored on the cache drive. Nothing was moved/changed. Is it recommended to stop the Dockers before stopping the array? That is the only thing I can think of that may have corrupted something. I just removed both CrashPlan dockers, disabled Docker in my settings, deleted the docker.img file from my cache disk, re-enabled Docker in settings, Re-added both CrashPlan Docker containers. Now the CrashPlan GUI is working again through Remote Desktop. Thanks! Strange! Usually I try to stop my Dockers when re-booting but normally I forget to do that and haven’t had any problems so far and I think I have used it for about 6 months. However CrashPlan do a lot of logging in the config/log folder but I would be surprised if the app wasn’t able to manage that in case of an unexpected shutdown.

  10. I don't have another pc, but I just installed the Microsoft remote desktop app on my Android phone and tried it from there. Same results. Thanks, Mark Two more things before I give up on this… You could try to install the Libre-Mate Docker just to see if you can connect to that one. It’s basically the same Ubuntu desktop that has been used for CrashPlan Desktop. If you have the Community Applications plugin search for it there and add it. Set the mappings to something like this: /home/ubuntu/.config -> /mnt/cache/Apps/Ubuntu/Config/ and /home/ubuntu/unraid -> /mnt/user/ Make sure CrashPlan Desktop is stopped and that nothing else running is using port 3389. If you can connect to this with Remote Desktop then there is something wrong with the CrashPlan Desktop. If not you might try using another Remote Desktop app on your PC, (mRemoteNG works for me).
  11. Ok, thanks for that, this makes sense now, but that brings me back to the problem that I'm no longer able to connect to Crashplan Desktop. It was working fine, but then stopped. I didn't change anything, but I did reboot the server. I don't have it set to auto-start, so I started it manually. Here is all that shows up in the log: The log looks about the same on my system so that is probably ok. Did a reboot on my system and have no problem starting the CrashPlan Desktop Docker again and login with remote desktop. Is your Desktop Docker running so it’s only the remote desktop login that fails? Running out of ideas right now… Yes, that's correct, remote desktop doesn't connect. I've tried restarting the desktop docker, but of course that's not helping. One thing that was happening before it stopped connecting is that it would usually take a couple of login attempts before it would work. I'd usually get an error message with the first, and sometimes the second attempt. Sorry I didn't note what the error message was (it wasn't that the password was incorrect though), but anyway now I'm not even getting the login screen. I should also mention that, although this problem started before upgrading, I did just upgrade to Windows 10. I'm really confused here. The upside is that from logging in to the Crashplan website, it appears that it is still making progress with the backup, so I guess that's good, but I wish I could still get to the desktop gui. Don't know what I'll do if I need to change anything or add new directories to be backed up. Appreciate your efforts anyway. Thanks, Mark I normally use Windows 8.1 but just tested from a Windows 10 home PC and I am able to connect from both. Do you have another PC you could try with? Maybe the problems isn’t really related to the Desktop Docker itself, more like something with your PC or network?

  13. I haven’t used the config where you backup a PC to unRAID trough CrashPlan so I am just guessing but here are a few things. Check where the backups from your PCs stored on unRAID, make sure it’s a share on the disk array so they don’t get stored somewhere on the Docker.img (or cache drive if you use that). You can check the how much free space you have on the Docker.img if you go to tab Settings and Docker. Do you have the CrashPlan Desktop running all the time? You don’t need to have it running once you have configured your backup. Keep it stopped to see if it makes any difference. Edit: A few more things, check the logs to see if there is something there that looks suspicious. How much memory do you have? CrashPlan recommend 1 GB per 1 TB data but have 1 GB as default unless you change it. However I don’t believe this should crash your Docker completely as you describe it.
  14. Sorry I wasn't more clear. My pc is backing up to Unraid, and Unraid is backed up to the cloud. I have the Crashplan & Crashplan Desktop Dockers installed, and the Windows app on my pc. Thanks, Mark So you have CrashPlan running on your PC and backing up the files from your PC to your unRAID server. If that is the case you have both the server and the client running on your PC to be able to do this. How is it configured to do this, is it setup do a backup to a folder or between computers (in the destination setting on your PC). If you are doing as described above you will not be able to use CrashPlan (client) on your PC to connect to the CrashPlan (server) Docker on your unRAID. If you have used my guide to change the settings on your PC as well as on unRAID these setting would not work if you are doing the above. The backup of your unRAID server to the “cloud” can still be done with the CrashPlan (server) Docker but you need to use the CrashPlan Desktop Docker to configure it. I haven’t done a configuration as the one you describe so I really have difficulties to give any details on how the configuration should look like.
  15. If I understand correctly you don’t backup anything to the CrashPlan cloud, the intention is firstly to do a backup of your PC to unRAID? I don’t really understand your configuration, have you installed the CrashPlan Docker on unRAID and the CrashPlan Windows app on your PC?
  16. I've been trying to figure out how to get Crashplan working for a while now. This is the first guide I've found that helped me get it up and running. I'm the type who has just enough tech savvy to break stuff, and not quite enough to fix it most of the time, so this is just what I needed. Thanks! Thanks, I appreciate your feedback!
  17. Only thing I'd say is to add the URL for the container to the doc.. This was the biggest missing piece from your doc as far as I was concerned.. Thanks for doing that for everyone! -Steve Thanks! Will do...
  18. This needs to be added to the OP and/or the WIKI please Not sure about the WIKI as it is today for this type of this type of documentation, it’s more focused on the unRAID system. Let’s see if gfjardim finds it usable. Would guess there are ways to improve the document once I get some feedback from the folks. At least I added a download link in my signature to start with…
  19. That doc is great, but the beginning leaves me a bit confused still.. In the actual CREATION of the container, my options are completely different than your screenshot, and I can't get it to create through the GUI.. If I click add a container, I get what you see in the attached screenshot (Capture.JPG).. Nowhere to specify what type of container I want to create, except for the pull-down, which only includes sync and Plex as options (templates.jpg). I assume now based on your screenshot that I should have this in my pull-down? I added "https://github.com/gfjardim/docker-containers/tree/master/crashplan" to my template repositories.. is that not correct? I believe that’s correct, just try it. I believe that I mentioned in the doc that you could install the Community Applications plugin, then you just select the Docker from the list of Dockers there and start the installation without the need to figure out where to download the Docker from…
  20. @extremeaudio, @172pilot -- I have put together a doc called "A tutorial on how to setup CrashPlan on unRAID6". It got a lot bigger than expected so you need to download it from my Dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/sl1hssa0anc2k0f/A%20tutorial%20on%20how%20to%20setup%20CrashPlan%20on%20unRAID6.pdf?dl=0 This doc is based on my experiences on how to get it working and with some luck it might help others as well. Feel free to comment!
  21. Understand your feeling… been there done that! Firstly are we talking about the CrashPlan Docker (this is the “server”) or is it the CrashPlan-Desktop Docker (this is only the “client” GUI)? I can do some screen dumps later for you if you like? I'm just talking about the crashplan server docker.. I haven't quite got my head around how the "desktop" side is supposed to work on a Linux machine without a GUI, so I'm trying to rely on my Windows machine for the GUI control of it before I open that can of worms.. Ok, will get back later...
  22. I will try to put something together during the evening, give me some time...
  23. That is most certainly a problem.. I haven't seen anything about a .identity file.. I will have to fix that and give it a shot - Probably not until late tonight unless I get a lull at work today.. One other related question, especially given "EXTREMEAUDIO"'s post above, is regarding HOW I was supposed to install the container in the first place (hopefully "container" is the right docker terminology??) - I can go to the docker tab in Unraid, and click "Add container" but I couldn't find any way to install the crashplan container this way, so I went and did it through SSH and the "docker run" command I detailed above, but then the container doesn't seem to want to let me view/edit the configuration from the web GUI.. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong here? I'm a long time UnRaid user, but painfully new at docker! Steve Understand your feeling… been there done that! Firstly are we talking about the CrashPlan Docker (this is the “server”) or is it the CrashPlan-Desktop Docker (this is only the “client” GUI)? I can do some screen dumps later for you if you like?
  24. Here is my setup and there are three things to do to get the CrashPlan app on the PC to talk to the server: Modify the "ui.properties" file on your client machine: #Fri Dec 09 09:50:22 CST 2005 serviceHost=192.168.1.101 <----- unRAID IP #servicePort=4243 Modify the "my.service.xml" file on your host machine: <serviceUIConfig> <serviceHost>0.0.0.0</serviceHost> <----- <servicePort>4243</servicePort> <----- <connectCheck>0</connectCheck> <showFullFilePath>true</showFullFilePath> [code]The .identity file on the server and the desktop PC needs to be the same Copy the .identity file from the CrashPlan folder /id foler on your server to your desktop PC to folder ProgramData/CrashPlan Note the .identity file is a hidden file
  25. Can be done in the GUI, at least on 6.1-rc2.
