I grew up with DOS "back in the day", so the command line isn't foreign, just different here in unRaid/linux land. So-Very-True!!! I would agree that both you have identified the problem. However, I did fix it (using the "documents" as a share name) by creating a new share (identical config) using Documents2, then verified it worked, then deleted the documents share, then renamed Documents2 to Documents. And everything is working. Given I agree with your assessments on the 'default' names, why would it now work? Seems like as soon as I renamed Documents2 to Documents, the conflict should show-up again... Thoughts?

Soooo, its gets really weird. I went through a bunch of gyrations and ended up recreating the share. Same share config, everything identical except the share is now "documents2" vs "documents". And the backup is working from within Goodsync from my win10 to unRaid via this new share NO PROBLEM?!? What in the world could be causing that one share to not work? Identical config?!? So strange...

Sorry, just found your reply. Your idea prompted me to try some things. Now it gets interesting. I did the following with the indicated results. 1. Goodsync backup to Documents share fails - error 5 (access denied) 2. Goodsync backup to Movies share WORKS! So this has to be a problem with the Documents share. The ONLY difference between the share definitions, other than the share name, are the disks assigned. http://my.jetscreenshot.com/12412/20161214-bbu1-241kb.jpg[/img] Both shares use disks 1-5. Documents uses 9, Movies uses 6 and 7 uniquely. Ran syncs using Disk 9, 6 and 7 independently and even tried Disk 5. All worked bidirectionally (copy to/from both win/unraid) with no errors. So this whole issue has something to do with this specific share. Any thoughts on how to diagnose this issue? What could be causing that ONE share to have access issues?

I tried to install it command-line from the console, but the slackware base for unraid is missing /etc/init.d that Goodsync wants in order to install. As I've been told, Slackware uses sysvinit with BSD style scripting. It uses two staging scripts, rc.S and rc.M, to load all necessary services as well as rc.local to load any extra daemons and services that may or may not use init scripts. rc.S loads the single user mode one-shot services and core system daemons, then it loads rc.M to start multi-user mode and load all other system services and post-boot scripts to configure the rest of the system. Goodsync support states that /etc/init.d must be present - and sure enough when I configure GsServer service as a daemon, I got a 'can't install service error'. Just posted a feature request that may be of interest to your very cool app. The challenge is tracking which drive is on which controller (I have 3 different sets of ports on my system, motherboard, AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 and a Syba 2 port SSD PCIe Controller). So it can be challenging to identify which drive is on which controller. The data is clearly defined (if you dig) in the Isscsi.txt and Ispci.txt files pulled from the system diagnostics.zip generated from the Tools menu. It took a bit, but once I color coded the files, it became clear that the data is there. Just thought you'd be interested in perhaps using this data to further enhance your already useful tool...CRITICAL when it comes to documenting your system if something fails and you need to get things back in the right spot... Here's the feature request: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=53728.msg515132#msg515132 EDIT: LOL, so I just went through this exercise, then went back to my own server layout to add which controller a drive was on ( using the new knowledged I learned) and lo and behold, you have the PATH already there! So perhaps you could expand the path to include information about the controller name? Or other distinguishing information to help decipher what the PATH is telling us... I can also see that the /sys/bus/scsi/devices/1:0:1:0 is where you pull the path from. So a simple link or mouse over on the Path could display the controller name pulled from the ISPCI.TXT file... And one other confusing point that you could easily clear up would be identifying which are motherboard based and which are PCIe based. i.e. 1:0:X:X in my case is the AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 PCIe Raid card, but the motherboard has a different path for each of the motherboard ports - i.e. 2:0:0:0 is a 3GB/s SATA port, 3:0:0:0 is another one, and 6:0:0:0 is a 6GB/s port. The other three ports are unused at the moment, so they don't show up in the file. unRaid 6.2.4. Installed Nerdpack a couple days ago and it worked great. Using SCREEN. Had to reboot today and now its not working, even though its installed. I've turned on SMB3 in Windows 10. Supposedly unRaid 6.2.x uses SMB3 now... Transferring files using Windows File Explorer works fine, its the app that has problems. According to them, its an SMB communication problem between their app and the unraid share. In order to run the Linux version, I have to create a Docker. Not done that before, I'm not a Linux Admin and I don't play one on TV, so not chuffed about that option... Thoughts?

Here's an opportunity for someone to make a few bucks. I'm looking for some real assistance in setting up a docker for a linux version of a windows 10 app I've come to depend on (Goodsync). While I can futz with linux command lines, I am far from a Linux admin. So the thought of spending a week to learn how to build a Docker is more than my time can handle at the moment. So hoping someone out there who knows how to build dockers (I know, its probably easy once you know...) would be willing to either build one, or closely mentor me through the process to do so... I had a problem earlier this summer with a Windows 10 app accessing an unRaid 6.1.9 SMB share (access denied). It was suggested that the problem resided with Windows implementation of SMB protocols being SMB3 and unRaid at SMB2 - and that 6.2 would solve that problem. So I've waited for 6.2 to mature and just upgraded to 6.2.4. I'm still getting the same error from the App. 180225 Delete File '//HUNTERNAS/documents/Dropbox/Camera Uploads/2015-12-17 18.36.30.jpg' - ERROR: Cannot move destination file to history folder: //HUNTERNAS/documents/_gsdata_/_saved_/Dropbox/Camera Uploads/2015-12-17 18.36.30.jpg: Access is denied. (error 5); Elevated MoveFile: server said: The specified server cannot perform the requested operation. (error 58) I'm running latest version of windows 10 Pro. Latest version of the App (Goodsync Pro 10.1.8.5 (x64)). I've attached my diagnostics log. I've looked through the syslog, but don't see any errors appearing when the App gets the errors. I can copy files with no problem to/from the PC to the same share that I'm accessing from Goodsync. Do I need to do something to turn on SMB3? Is there a way to setup backups to a share as opposed to a single disk? I've run into space issues on the original target disk. FYI, I installed Linuxserver.io MySQL and SQL Workbench connected to MySQL first time!! So its obviously a piece of code written by oracle (heh, heh) that says... If DB Target=MariaDB, Crash System!

But then I wouldn't be "Cool"... All joking aside, from what i've read, it appears that MariaDB is much more forward looking that MySQL at this point... ?!? Opinions?

Successful installation of MariaDB on unRaid 6.1.9. I'm able to access the container and execute commands. FS running and I can see the default installation file structure. All is well. http://my.jetscreenshot.com/12412/20160724-02gk-147kb.jpg[/img] Then I try to connect to the MariaDB using SQLWorkbench (latest version) so I can setup some databases, etc. But it won't connect. I've verified the root password from within the MariaDB Docker... When I try to connect I use Standard TCP/IP (all defaults) using the server IP name (I can access all the server resources from my Windows 10 64 bit machine). Just started using this very useful tool and looking for documentation on the various bits. Noob on dockers, starting to use and understand how they work. Cool stuff. For cAdvisor there are many bits of information that I can't track. 1. For instance, in the screenshot below, there are a number of FS indicators (some file system interface I assume?). I know what CPU and Memory mean, but I don't know how to connect FS#1 (or 2,3,4,5...) to something that means anything to me. i.e. FS#2 is at 79%, is that bad? Has anyone heard anything new about Samba/unRaid's support for SMB v3? My backup software (www.goodsync.com) is having intermittent problems accessing the SMB shares. I've run the registry patch which helped until recently when I'm getting errors stating the "server can't execute the command" errors (indicative of SMB communication failures). I'm still able to access the shares from Windows 10 without any issues. But applications (like GoodSync) appear to have intermittent problems. Any wisdom Sages?

Love the concept of the file integrity plugin from Dynamix. I installed it and its running, but there is a whole section called "disk verification tasks" with rows and columns of check boxes, but no instructions on what should be done, how to use it or how to define a 'task'? Is there documentation or a sub-forum somewhere?

Does anyone have a strategy to combat Bit Rot? Especially for libraries that hang around forever...i.e. Movies, Pictures, etc. Or is it something that's not worth worrying about?
