  1. ok...had ProFTPd Plugin installed and then I removed it. When that happened, the built in FTP Server showed back up and the FTP Settings button worked. Is it best to keep ProFTPd and keep it disabled when not in use?
  2. The link posted within the plugin works for me under 6.3 -rc1, and 6.2.1 (and was originally tested with 6.1.9 and 6.2 b/rc) All it does is takes you to Settings / FTP Settings The reason for the warning is that (unless the behaviour has been changed) is that if FTP was disabled, it will automatically get re-enabled after you reboot the system. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=48975.0 I also have version 6.2.1. Is the UnRAID built-in FTP server a Plugin. I may have already deleted it (can't remember) and the FTP Settings button may be trying to access a page of a Plugin that is no longer installed.
  3. I have multiple cache - xxxxxxx, socket - xxxxxxxx, and tmp - xxxxxxx folders in my user share. What is the story with these and can they be deleted?
  4. I show no Errors using the Fix Common Problems Plugin but, a Warning indicates that I still have users defined for the built in FTP server that I have disabled. When I click on the "FTP Settings" button, I get a blank screen.
  5. With Ransomware Protection version: 2016.10.09, I am getting the following: Time Of Attack:Sun, 09 Oct 2016 17:43:19 -0400 Samba version 4.4.5 PID Username Group Machine Protocol Version Encryption Signing ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Service pid Machine Connected at Encryption Signing --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No locked files
  6. I have a Windows VM so, no help there. Since the DD-WRT router stays on all the time, seems like the obvious choice. Now, if can only get my UnRAID monitor to wake up with the server, I'd be set!
  7. Its a great day when you can answer your own questions. Turns out my DD-WRT router has a WOL signal feature. Yipee!!!
  8. I have the Z97 Extreme6, from looking at the Software Setup Guide, it does not appear to have that feature. Are there any routers that can provide the WOL signal?
  9. Can the UnRAID server wake itself after S3 Sleep state or does it always have to be via WOL from another source?
  10. Getting my UnRAID server to S3 Sleep is no problem. Waking the damn thing up is a different story. Do I need to hit the power button every time? What are the other ways to wake it up? Can I wake it up in a similar fashion to when the disks spin down, by just trying to access the user share? It would be nice if the Plugin woke it up at a scheduled time just like the schedule to make it sleep.
  11. I was able to reduce my filesize by gzip. Dan, would be nice to add an automatic gzip to the backup file. Since my VM img is 100GB, the backup is also. After gzip, it reduced to 17GB......quite a difference.
  12. This script did not seem to shutdown the VM for me. I had no problem shutting down the VM manually, after which, the script ran fine. Also, I expected the log window to echo the comments as it stepped through the script but, it waited until after my 100GB VM img file was copied and the rest of the script fully executed before showing the echoed comments.
  13. I haven't had any luck making a directory with spaces in the name.
  14. I've been an UnRAID member for almost a year now. I started with using 3 sets of RAID1 1.5TB harddrives that were in my PC so, the drives were used. I just had my Disk 1 (sdd) die. The damn thing has always coughed out sector errors from day one. I ignored them because the data was always rewritten somewhere else and UnRAID kept chugging along. I know that harddrives will fail sooner if they run all the time. And, I know that UnRAID tries to spin them down when not in use. My question is what is the average lifespan for a harddrive these days in an UnRAID server with casual use? Also, since I now need a replacement.........what is the harddrive everyone is using in UnRAID these days that has the best reliability? Lastly, do most UnRAID members keep a spare harddrive or just order them when one fails? Oh yeah, I will probably order at least two drives and convert to two parity drives.
  15. I disabled Hyper-V but, why does VNC need to be disabled? Not sure how to reboot the VM from within without the VNC.
  16. Makes sense now. As pointed out in another thread, UnRAID recognizes it as a discrete PCIe device even though it doesn't know what the device is. As pointed out by saarg, I installed the GT 710 drivers in the W10 VM and now the Device Manager recognizes both my GT 610 and GT 710. Unfortunately, I am still getting the Code 43 on both. At least, I've made some progress today.
  17. So, even though UnRAID recognizes my GT 610 but not my GT 710, that is okay? I have installed the drivers in my W10 VM but, I still get the Code 43. I tried to look a little deeper into the error and it seems that the driver that I got from the NVidia website may not be compatible with W10. I will try the driver CD that came in the box and see how that goes.
  18. With so much great info, its hard for me to remember all the details about a thread or subject. I see many have the gift of remembering every old thread that was ever written on this website. I use the Search tool often but, for every issue I have or topic that I want to know, there is always way more info than I want and typically I am able to find a post (usually by jonp, Squid, bonienl, aptalca, and several others) that icaptures the meat of the issue or topic. Is there a way I can flag a thread and then be able to have a list of my Favorite threads that I can browse through to help me remember? Otherwise, I end up asking the same questions again.
  19. For W10, what is the proper way to shut down the VM? Should I use Plugin's Stop, Force Stop, or use the Power/Shut down in the W10 VM?
  20. Yes...that was it. Thanks guys! As a caveat...I still had trouble with RDP into the VM. I was getting the error message " The remote computer requires Network Level Authentication, which your computer does not support....". I solved this going to my W10 VM's System Properties/Remote Desktop and unchecking the box that says "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication (recommended)"
  21. It appears that UnRAID 6.1.9 does not recognize my second NVidia GT 710 graphics card. 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF119 [GeForce GT 610] (rev a1) 01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GF119 HDMI Audio Controller (rev a1) 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 128b (rev a1) 02:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GK208 HDMI/DP Audio Controller (rev a1) 04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 11) Do I need to update a driver somewheres?
  22. This is awesome...I get to reply to my own question. Just as soon as I posted, my NVidia GT 610 now shows up in my W10 VM. It seems I selected the GT 610 as my second graphics card in my VM setup instead of the GT 710. Perhaps I'll edit it one more time to see if the GT 710 shows up.
  23. Another passthrough question but, in this case, I bought another NVidia graphics card since I got tired of reading all the threads about how to use just the one card with my non-GPU processor. My UnRAID server uses a Z97 Extreme 6 MB and a Xeon E3-1231 v3 @ 3.4GHz. So, I had an NVidia GT 610 graphics card in my PCIe slot 2 that I ran with my UnRAID. I then bought another NVidia GT 710 that I put into PCIe slot 4. However, both cards seem to show up as Basic Display Adapter in the W10 VM. I added the second graphics card in the VM setup (VNC and the NVidia GT 710). Is there something I need to do with the XML?
  24. For some reason I cannot RD into my VM. It comes up with an IP of 192.168.122.225 after an ipconfig command which is a bit weird since my last VM had an IP of 192.168.1.136. What else am I missing?
  25. If you upgraded from 6.1.9 directly to 6.2beta21, then copy the files within the previous folder on the flash drive to the root of the flash and then reboot. If you've gone through more than 1 version of the betas, then download 6.1.9 from LT's website, extract bzimage and bzroot from them and overwrite those two files on the flash drive and then reboot. All this works if you've only got a single parity drive set up. Not sure what happens if you have 2 set up. Is there a clever way of copying the files from the "previous" folder to the "root" folder? I am having no luck using Dolphin or Krusader.
