  1. I just downgraded my x99 64gb 2600v3 10 core because I hardly ever used the full capacity of it. I'm now waiting to build my 1800x and asus prime with 32gb gskill. TBH it's not that much of a downgrade since I'll be saving some watts by not using the Xeon...
  2. Please do report back, I am considering this board as my next UNRAID build. I stripped down my Intel 2660v3 build since I was not using its full potential, got myself a 1800x, gskill 2x32GB - just deciding on a board and cooler now.
  3. Id like to know that too, im really undecided on what is the best board to get at the mo. Torn between asus crosshair, asrock taichi or msi titanium
  4. Yeah, future proofing should be the way to go, decisions, decisions...
  5. Thats good news. I will probably get the asrock x370 gaming pro without built in gfx since the ryzen does not support it.
  6. If anyone manages to get 2 x GPUs passed through to seperate VMs let me know. I plan to get an MSI x370 titanium and 1800x with 32GB g.skill. IOMMU grouping issues is putting me off at the moment.
  7. Great work but when will nvme temperatures in the main gui work as it did in 6.2.9?
  8. Try clicking the Check for upgrades button again. nope - still shows 6.3.0 stable
  9. 6.3.0 stable appears as the only upgrade option when updating the plugins?? Shouldn't 6.3.1 be there? Whats the best quickest way to manually upgrade 6.3 RCx to 6.3.1 ?
  10. This is the same issue for me, fixed by using the patched clover. Mind you, this only happens when on 6.3rc6.
  11. downgrade to 6.2.4 And that solves what exactly? 6.3 uses 6.2 ovmf as far as I know.
  12. I upgraded to 6.3RC6 and now my sierra VM is running at half the speed that it was before, very strange! I did not change a thing, same UEFI clover boot loader. VM boots fine, OSX is usable but very slow. I have another install using UEFI and enoch boot loader and this is fine, full speed. any ideas?
  13. Hi I am using an NTFS formatted nvme drive in unassigned devices so that I can passthrough the partition in a windows 10 VM. I do this by using /dev/disk/by-id method. This works well but the UNRAID console keeps outputting a blockdev error.... blockdev: cannot open /dev/nvme1n1p: No such file or directory. This error appears when I rescan or refresh the unassigned devices list in the main webUI. The nvme1n1p device does not exist in /dev/ so I am not sure how to exclude it or where it has manifested from. Any ideas?
  14. Hi Anyone come across this error in the log before? I am passing through my samsung nvme 950 pro drive to a windows 10 VM. It starts up fine on the first boot. However, when I restart windows or power off/on the VM i get the following error in UNRAID and unable to boot from the nvme drive again until i restart the unraid host. I tried a different slot for the nvme drive and also the vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1 in sysinux but it doesnt make a difference. The nvme drive is in its own IOMMU group. Dec 17 10:33:55 MOUNRAID01 kernel: vfio-pci 0000:4f:00.0: Failed to return from FLR Dec 17 10:33:59 MOUNRAID01 kernel: vfio_bar_restore: 0000:4f:00.0 reset recovery - restoring bars Dec 17 10:33:59 MOUNRAID01 kernel: vfio_bar_restore: 0000:4f:00.0 reset recovery - restoring bars ... EDIT:Could be the same issue as experienced in this thread.. https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=36768.msg516497#msg516497 I am using 6.3RC6.
  15. Well thank you for everyones help especially JB. Migration went smoothly.
  16. ok does 'move now' move the docker and domains img? If so, I don't think it worked since there is only 70MB used on the cache disk yet the array disk had 22GB used (mainly the IMG files).
  17. when using 'new config' do i 'retain current configuration' or not? I dont want to lose any vm xmls', share config etc....
  18. I would like to sync my photos to dropbox that currently reside on an SMB share called 'Media'. Is it possible to sync just that folder using dropbox? Or do I need to install the dropbox docker and move the media folder and all pictures into the dropbox folder in appdata for it to sync?
  19. So, if I got this right, I do it like this.... 1.) Assign new nvme drive to cache pool 2.) Check use cache disk is set to 'prefer' 3.) Disable Docker/VM in webui settings Please explain the following tasks in more detail and how I do it... 4.) Run the mover utility 5.) New config (how) 6.) Rest Shares (how) 7.) remove old nvme drive thanks
  20. Yes, for some reason UNRAID or should i say KVM/QEMU does not handle resource management well with c-states enabled on some processors?
  21. I'm not using parity it's just a single nvme drive listed in the array. I thought I could simply mount the new smaller SSD , copy the contents to it and then assign it to the array. I then remove the old drive and that's that.
  22. Hi people I'm currently using an nvme drive as an array device called 'disk 1' it contains the ISO, DOMAINS, APPDATA, SYSTEM directories for UNRAID. I want to replace this drive with another smaller SSD/nvme drive. Do i just copy the contents of the current drive to the new one? Please advise on the correct procedure for migrating to a new drive. thanks
  23. Thanks. I implemented all of your suggestions and I still get slight pops/static during audio whenever there is significant disk access from ATTO benchmark. In real world use, there is hardly any noticeable audio static during gaming and general media/web stuff. It wasn't until I thought of stress testing the virtio scsi capability that I came to the conclusion it was that affecting the audio stream in my VM. I think i will go down the route of a dedicated nvme drive for the vm and pass it through. That should fix it. Out of curiosity, please try ATTO bench as per my original post/instructions and see what happens with your audio stream (assuming you have a VM as a disk image that you can test against).
  24. cpu 0 / 10 cpu 1 / 11 cpu 2 / 12 cpu 3 / 13 cpu 4 / 14 cpu 5 / 15 cpu 6 / 16 cpu 7 / 17 cpu 8 / 18 cpu 9 / 19
  25. Thanks for the very thorough response dude. However, the dashboard in Unraid says my pairs are 1,11 2,12 etc. This goes against your suggestions for CPU pinning?
