  1. no, it's plugged into USB 2 port, but is on motherboard.
  2. I just passed the printer as the USB device shown in the VM "edit" the OS is windows 10.
  3. So why not just use btrfs?? other than file size, as btrfs is raid 10, what benefit does unraid raid provide that btrfs won't? I always thought file back-up should be stored in unraid array, but will the way Linus set-up be secure enough? If so, I wanna start moving away from xfs due to the performance...
  4. I was watching new video created by Linus, and I realized he's using unraid array to set up WS to back up day to day PCs.And he's using the btrfs cache to back up "the vault"(I'm assuming another file server). Is this even safe? I thought the idea of the cache drive is that it was for a quick usage, not designed to be a one and only copy file storage.
  5. I have a laser printer that is attached to the usb on the motherboard, but for some reason no matter what I do, my samsung driver software cannot detect the printer. Is there anything I can do to find out what is preventing it from deletecting the usb? in the VM edit window, I do have the device selected.
  6. that's exactly what I thought, but then I couldn't find any 1150 motherboard (with 2~3 PCIE8x) with IPMI feature. Anyone have a reco??
  7. I did, and it clearly states Single socket H3 (LGA 1150) supports Intel® Xeon® E3-1200 v3/v4, 4th gen.Core i3, Pentium, Celeron processors. But my question is how could it support i3, but not i5 or i7? here is an example of motherboard I was interested in: http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C220/X10SLH-F.cfm I would guess it was a typo. As long as the sockets match I can't see why a motherboard would support i3, but not i5/i7. It doesn't make sense. that's exactly what I thought as well, but then based on further research alot of LGA1150 mobo are using C200s chipset and most of the mobo especially supermicro's mobo do not have i5 and i7 as supported CPU. I even looked at intel's 1150 mobo, and sure enough there's bunch of i3s in the list of compatible CPUs, but no i5 or i7... I didn't want risk purchasing it... Other than the socket, is there anything else preventing non-supported CPUs to be used on this board? http://ark.intel.com/products/71384/Intel-Server-Board-S1200V3RPL

  9. I've been thinking about getting a new mobo next year I wanted to explore IPMI, but keeping the same CPU (i5 4590s), and I also want 1 pcie 16x and 2 pcie 8x for SAS controllers. I've been looking around newegg and other sites and many of mobo have c200 chipsets with support of Intel® Xeon® E3-1200 v3/v4, 4th gen and Core i3. None of them say i5/i7. Is there any reason for this? how could a mobo support i3, but not i5/i7?
  10. I think I found the issue my mobo sysfan, although they have 4pins,I don't think they support the PWMs. is there anything I can do? I don't want to use CPUFANS as I didn't want the fans to be associated to CPU use. Is there some sort of usb pwm adapter I could use to adjust my fan speed?
  11. I just couldn't get any PWM controller to load. I have MSI Z87-G45 motherboard which should be capable of adjusting system fans and Norctua pwm fans connected to a splitter http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812311002&_ga=1.268058315.411726453.1451509940.
  12. I installed Fan Auto Control, but for some reason PWM controller shows None. I know my motherboard can adjust fan speed, is there anything I have to do to enable the option?
  13. Thanks, I've been trying to use it, but I couldn't get it to work, and wasn't sure if that's what it was supposed to do. I'll give it another try!
  14. my hard drives are reporting 40~45 celsius temperature, and although I am not too concerned of the temperature, I am concerned that my pwm capable system fans are not increasing the fan speed (system temperature isn't increasing, so I'm assuming bios thinks it's fine...). Is there any plugin that allows me to control system fans based on Hard Drive temperature? Would love to investigate...
  15. Discovered System AutoFan while I was looking for a solution to adjust my pwm fans depending on the hard drive temperature. Would System AutoFan do what I'm looking for? I see that it's still in WIP, is it fine to install on prod environment??
  16. I was trying to use sabnzbdvpn, but then realized 8118 was used for delugevpn, and also 8080 for some reason was being assigned as one of the port. Could I change both of them? isn't port 8080 http? Not sure if it's supposed to be unchanged....
  17. The webui is not available until the VPN connection is fully established. If you have an error in your VPN configuration, it won't come up. Set VPN_ENABLED to no and see if it starts, if so, then there is something wrong with your VPN settings. sorry for the noob question but how can I set up openvpn if I can't log into webui? could I just drop my PIA OVPN file in the \delugevpn\openvpn\ folder? The webui is only for managing deluge, setting up the vpn is all done on the docker setup page. I don't see any option for vpn in the edit page though, I just see an option to change the config location. am I looking at the right location? Sorry forgot to click on "advance", I see all the option now!

  20. gothca, so, it's probably something I shouldn't have... I'll look for more of consumer grade router...
  21. I just installed delugevpn through docker and for some reason I cannot open it in webui, anyone else having the same/similar issue or know how to solve the issue?
  22. Ice never heard of Mikrotik until now. Are they goo compared to router like linksys A.C. Router?? Do they have a router with A.C.wifi?
  23. Thanks for the great suggestions!! I wasn't sure how to do VPN considering the server has openVPN client. but if I put VPN to the router it should solve the issue!!
  24. When I want to log into my unraid remotely, I usually manage unraid by accessing VM via TeamViewer and opening browser. Today, I was at my in-law's house, and I decided to add a hard drive that was unmapped to unraid (cuz, you know, there's nothing better to do when you're at in-law's:)). So, I do the usual, logging into my TeamViewer, accessing VM, opening browser, accessing unraid, "oh I have to stop array... ok!", check the check-box, click "stop", then right after I realize what this may do, my VM starts shutting down... then there it goes... no more plex, no more VM, no more.... thankfully, my in-law's house was a quick drive away from my house, so I drove back to the house and restarted the array. I also started my gaming rig so that I dont' have to rely on my VM. then I thought "there's gotta be a better way!". I'm assuming there's a plenty users here that manage their servers remotely. How do you guys do it? How do companies which own tons of servers manage them, I bet they often have to manage them remotely, or do they have people on-site to manage cases like this??
