Okay solved it by myself. On unRaid you have to set ipv6=no in the forked-daapd.conf because unRaid does not support ipv6. Maybe it would be a good idea to take that setting as default, because it is easier for most to enable it than to have a not working forked-daapd and have to search for that failure.

Hi i just tried to switch from Sparklyballs daapd to the ls.io dappd but i wont come up sayin it could not bind to Port 3689. These are the Log File entries which keep repeating. Any Idea? Hi there, i got a small problem here with the S3 Sleep Plugin. I am using unRaid 6.1.6 with the newest S3 Sleep Plugin. Since i added a new disk the server wont sleep anymore. When i turn on debug mode i see that the Script thinks that the disk is still busy: "Disk activity on going: sdi". The unRaid Webgui shows the disk as spun-down but the temperature is displayed. The disk is not connected to the Motherboards Sata Ports but a simple two Port ASM1061 controller card. I know that this could cause the problem, but why does the unRaid Webgui see the disk as spun down but the S3 Sleep script does not?

Only problem for me is that whether the Supermicro nor the Adaptec Card are easy to find in Germany. Adding shipping + German Customs make them expensive till they are here.

Is there any 4-Port Sata controller card to be recommended at the moment?

Could someone please try to compile a recent Version of Powertop for unRaid 6. I tried the standard Slackware 14.1 Package of it, but that is out of date and also debugfs seems not to be included. I just want to see if with powertop it is possible so save a bit more energy on my Server.

Hi there, i am trying to get my Ubuntu TVHeadend KVM to work with the S3 Sleep Plugin of Dynamix. The simple problem is that the TV Tuner will crash if the drivers are not unloaded before sleep. My initial idea was to unload everything via SSH before sleep. Another idea is to simply shutdown the TVHeadend KVM before sleep and restart it when waking up. Nevertheless to get it properly working i need to know what happens to a KVM Domain when unRaid enters S3. Does it get the pmsuspend command? Does nothing happen to it, is it just frozen? Maybe one of the devs could bring a bit light into this topic?

I have something like a preclear box system running. That is not a problem. My question was more directed to the topic if the preclear script is a suitable solution for what inwant to do or if there is a better solution out there in the linux world.

Hi there, two days ago i had the very first bad drive in my unRaid System, which was blocked because of 4 write failures to it. Unfortunately i had no replacement drive at hand so i had to go to a local store to buy one and to preclear it, before i could use it. Good thing that there was no additional drive failure in that time. Nevertheless, now i would like to test the drive i had removed from the system and i am asking myself how to do that on a spare linux system, which must not have unRaid installed. Can i use the preclear script for it, or is there (maybe a faster) alternative? How do you do something like this?

Yep i know. For most unRaid Users S3 is no topic afaik. They must have very big wallets or live in countries where energy costs are relatively low. For me here in Germany it is quite expensive having a server ideling around with approx. 40W, when it is not use half of the day. I think i will try the ssh way. From what i have found out it behaves just like local commands when the commands are directly appended to the ssh call. If it works i let you know.

To avoid using Media Build Kernels in unRaid, so i can easily upgrade it etc. i want to use an Ubuntu VM for my TVHeadend server. The VM is running, this was no issue with the help of the Forum. But my server should go to sleep when it is not needed. Because the S3 crashes my TV Tuner when the driver etc. is not unloaded before sleep i am searching for method to stop TVheadend and unload the drivers when my unRaid goes to sleep. I was thinking of using ssh for this, so my unRaid logs into the VM and starts a script before going to sleep. But this is more a shoot and forget method, because the unRaid does not see when the script is finished. Is there any correct way i could do this? Is the VM notified in anyway when unRaid goes to sleep so i could use this as a trigger? I really have no idea how to do this.

Hi there, i am experimenting a bit with KVM the last weeks. Now i installed Mac OS to my unRaid Box and i ask myself if it is possible to passthrough the iGPU of my Intel i5-4570T to Mac OS. I know that my Board and CPU are vt-d capeable although, but most i have found pointed to Nvidia or Radeon GPU's.

Sorry does not work for me. When i try this i cant start the VM. I simply get a message that it is not possible to read the Keymap file de-de.

No need to go for one and two TB drives noadays, only if you have them lying around. More drives also mean more vibrations which is not good for them.

My current Rig (specs in signature) uses 40W in Idle. Which means that the cache drive is spun up, while all the others are spun down. I am pretty happy with it. Especially because S3 ist working flawlessly it is only use approx. 8 hours per day. It also handles downloads etc, but because of the clever S3 setup it goes to sleep when finished.

No problem [emoji3] Do you mean basic copy paste or is there a specific clipboard function in caliber that I'm not aware of? If you're trying to copy and paste from your local computer or another browser window into calibre, I don't think that's going to work. I believe that's a limitation of most vnc or rdp systems. Although some have special workarounds or features that allow it. By default the local and remote clipboards are not shared. For instance the vnc/rdp server used in this case (guacamole) allows you to copy things within the app which you can access by bringing up the side menu (ctrl+alt+shift). But I never really used it myself. I tried to copy and paste between the clipboard of my host (Windows) and the Calibre docker using ctrl+v and the context menu. Also i tried thet guacamole menu you get when you use ctrl+shift+alt. Last thing i tried was using the Windows build in RDP client by forwarding port 3389, no luck. That docker is a great idea, but i have many books where there is no online data to be scraped. I have to copy and paste it from variouls ressources.

Just wanted to say thank you for the Calibre RDP Docker. Using Calibre over the network was always a pain. Just played a bit with it, could it be that the Clipboard function is missing?
