  1. Greetings everyone. After being on the forum for a little while now, I think an improvement could be made in the different subforums. Lots of people ask about hardware builds across many of the different subgroups, ie UCD, Hardware, Motherboards, etc. Could we have something like this? Maybe have hardware be its own subsection? Completed Hardware Builds (UCD says its for completed builds but tons of posts in there ask about builds) Build advice forum - all build advice (obviously) goes in here
  2. Hello all - I am getting the following system from MrRackables - 2U 12 Bay SAS2 Expander 9DRI-LN4F Rev 1.20 motherboard Server 2x E5-2660 48GB RAM (12x 4GB) LSI 9210-8i HBA 2x 2.5" to 3.5" Caddy adpaters 10x 3.5" Caddies Dual PS Rail kit I am looking for a video card to run in a VM that I will be using Gamestream to stream to my Nvidia Shield TV. I will just need 1080p I think, I have a Vizio M65-E0, but I don't think I need to run 4k on it. I have been out of the loop regarding video cards so I have no idea where to start. The only requirement is that I will need an Nvidia card so I can run Gamestreaming.
  3. I was using this link: https://www.linuxserver.io/2016/07/28/installing-nextcloud-on-unraid/ And I didn't see it, unless I am blind. Regardless thanks for your help.
  4. Yes, I did try to mirror those instructions to work on my pydio container but I couldn't get it to work, hence my question. The nextcloud guide does not have any documentation on creating your own database as you instructed above.
  5. That worked. Could this information be put in the OP or under the docker page? My confusion stems from other containers such as Nextcloud, etc not needing to do this step, they just seem to create their own database. Thanks for the help.
  6. I have no clue what that is, so I don't think so.
  7. I tried that, but when I enter in the MariaDB info into the Pydio wizard, it says "unknown database 'pydio;" I just set up a test nextcloud container and it worked fine. Which database option do I use in the pydio wizard?
  8. Can someone help me out with how to create a database in MariaDB for pydio? I am struggling.
  9. Woop - that worked. I disabled my router OpenVPN server and its connecting fine.
  10. I am setting up my friend's Unraid server for him, and he doesn't have a router that supports VPN.
  11. Yeah I did that, I created the user using the GUI as well. Do I create the user in the CLI and then again in the GUI and set the password at the same time?
  12. Woops! I blame the coffee. I used the GUI to create my VPN user, so I am not sure what I am missing. Yeah, I am totally at a loss. Do I need to disable the OpenVPN server on my asus router to make this work?
  13. But in one of the replies above it says to use the GUI. I will try again with using the commandline.
  14. Sorry if this is too general a question but my google-fu is weak today. I followed Spaceinvader's youtube video along with the recent posts. I tried a clean install with the following steps: 1. Changed admin password using putty 2. Switched authentication to Local from PAM 3. Changed the server name to my duckdns url. 4. Forwarded port 1194 UDP on my router to my server IP 5. Created my VPN user in the Gui, and set my password. 6. Installed the OpenVPN gui app on my Windows machine. I then downloaded my .ovpn and am trying to login but I keep getting this error: Mon Jun 12 10:35:45 2017 TLS Error: cannot locate HMAC in incoming packet from [AF_INET]MYIP:1194 MYIP is my WAN IP, and that is correct. I am running OpenVPN on my router but I am testing this to set up my friend's Unraid server for him. I attached my docker settings. Bonding is disabled in my unRaid server.
  15. Anyone got the unraid webui to work in this? I assume not since it sounds like a security thing but just checking.
  16. Does Plex even support GPU transcoding apart from the nvidia shield?
  17. How is the noise on this unit? I am considering one that will be near my main desk.
  18. Hello everyone! I am setting up an unraid server for my friend. He will be using it remotely. In the past he has manually connected to my FTP server (after connecting to my server via OpenVPN) on my unraid and copied data from it. Is there a more elegant solution? I do not want to sync my entire media folder, only certain folders he or I specify. I look at the Davos docker and it kind of looks like what I would like, but I don't know if there is anything else more elegant.
  19. I was looking at this build, the price is pretty insane but it's some good inspiration. https://blog.brianmoses.net/2017/03/diy-nas-2017-edition.html
  20. Yeah I won't be using video, thanks for the links. I already have a PCI 8 port (I think) sata card. I will start putting these together thanks!
