Message pops up generally when you move the docker.img.  You can recreate it no problems.  Simply stop the docker service (Settings - Docker), then delete the image, then restart the service

Followed by Apps, Previous Apps, check off whatever you had installed and it'll be the same as before

I had moved my docker.img away from my cache (Replaced it for a bigger cache drive) and after moving it all back I have no warnings anymore! :-)

One thing that worries me, I mistakenly did run a "New Permissions" and included the appdata folder 😞

After a reboot it seems that all dockers are running okay - should I be worried? and what can I do about it? (Appdata permission is not the same)

  2. Hi Everyone

Unraid is great and I am like many others using my Unraid server for Plex (And of course other things)

So I would really like to collect all the tweaks and "Hack" done by others to increase performance of large Media servers doing transcoding

First just to get the "normal" recommendation listed:

    • Appdata on cache drive (Fast as possible - SSD/M2)
    • HW encoding using Unraid Nvidia plugin + GPU
    • Structure of media in each folder/optimize files for transcoding?

    Specific Unraid tweaks:

    • Moving transcoding to RAM (Update better guide for doing this)

What other things or tips do you have to speed things up?

Speed up the UI?  have anyone tried to move the DB to RAM? and did it help?

Looking forward to getting some input from the power users! 👍 and updating this post with new things!

Thanks for a really great forum with so many help-full people

(I placed this post here because it should not be about the dockers but things around it and Unraid, please move it if you find a better place for it!)

  3. So it seem to be working now! 😊

One questions... The unpackerr creates a new folder side by side with the existing folder like this:

    Directory A

    Directory A_unpackerred/Directory A/file A

Is this how it should be?

After Radarr/Sonarr/Lidarr moves the file will it then be deleted? (If the file is something they accept! not iso etc.)

Again thanks for creating this! - Really love to disable the other built in-unpackers

Firstly, thank you for the app.  It's really the last step I need for a perfect setup.  However, I can't seem to get it to work either.  Can you please explain how to find the log, I can't make any sense of your post below.

I have the paths set to the completed monitored location for both Sonarr and Radarr, but files are just sitting and not getting unpacked.

You have to run the command in the CLI its the command prompt that opens a new window here:

From the containers perspective...if your download client puts the downloads in the volume /downloads and radarr sees them in /downloads, then unpackerr needs to have the path set to /downloads and the volume should also be mounted in /downloads, whatever you did to get it working with radarr, the same applies to unpackerr. The variable ....0_PATH just tells unpacker, "go look in this folder". I also like to suggest to read whats written on your screen, the fact that you are adding a red arrow to the UN_LIDARR_0_PATH suggests you didn't read the orange text....

Yes I actually did - have spend allot of my time to get this to work.... and currently could mean that at some point it will be used so doesn't hurt to fill it in right!

Currently not used, Lidarr API gives the path.

I can't know for sure what paths you use or prefer using...so it's a bad idea to include them in the template. I think your last solution is going to work....

Sorry I just need to know if the mappings in the docker is going to be subst for the "mount" like:

    /downloads/tv/ --> ( /downloads/ = /mnt/user/downloads/) --> /downloads/tv

Or should they be "spelled out in full path" in the docker UI so they have the full path: /mnt/user/downloads/tv?

    These 3 fields:

    image.png.252a64a1f3f9dd2f387ffbbd47aae9f3.png

Sorry for the many question if you have an example on how you have configured it then please share :-)

  7. This is exactly what I have been struggling with "Temp & Share on cache? vs UA-drive? vs Array?"

I have tried many different things, if you need to seed and store data then cache is quickly not big enough...

    I came to this conclusion:

    1) Seeding for a long time needing lots of storage! = UAD --> set movie/tv shows folder on array cache: yes

    2) Temp download to cache? (torrent to move) completed download to --> UAD? --> Movie folder (cache: Yes) move to --> Array (much moving files around?)

    3) All on cache drive --> Array? (Not enough space and needed time for seeding!)

    4) All on array - so many drives spinning up 24/7

Cache 2TB M.2 usage: Appdata (Plex is huge!)/VM/System - and cache setting to (Yes on important shares)

I went with option 1 - Eager to hear what others are doing?

  8. Sorry I think I am getting to used to having all needed fields provided to me in the Docker Unraid UI 🙂

I thinking was that filling out all available fields would be enough

So you are saying that I need to mount the drives and that the Sonarr/Radarr path with the API does not provide this kind of access right?

    This would then solve it?

    image.png.fa477f7fc473c1fe810c62e9320bce3f.png

And then change the path in the docker to:

    /downloads/tv/

    /downloads/movies/

    /downloads/music/

    docker logs unpackerr

on the CLI to view the log

    Thanks!

For some reason it doesn't unpack folders...

I am running a synch folder with files

TDB (status: Waiting, pre-Queue, elapsed: 14h14m0s)
    2020/02/20 10:20:08.648757 helpers.go:65: [Unpackerr] Queue: [210 waiting] [0 queued] [0 extracting] [0 extracted] [0 imported] [0 failed] [0 deleted], Totals: [0 restarts] [0 finished]

The only thing I can think off is the download path?

Which points to my Unraid Unassigned drive - top level download folder same as

    image.thumb.png.58c571f9b3b4c510a18b5b69e41437f8.png

    And my Radarr settings:

    image.thumb.png.95a1b5cd05a969dfd3becfc45ba383e2.png

I have also tried writing the full path but still dosent work...

    /mnt/user/downloads/tv/

    /mnt/user/downloads/movies/

    /mnt/user/downloads/music/

Is it scanning the folders even if Radarr & Sonarr haven't registered a download?

Would be nice if some RSS feed also was unpacked 🙂

looking at something similar, multiple isp, multiple instances of the same docker on the same machine utilizing multiple isp connections.

I did ask a while ago about having mutiple isp traffic down a single cat6 run. Think the answer was yes provided VLANS are used.

Trying to get pfsense setup this week and play with it this weekend. Still trying to isolate my 4 port sfp+ NIC card from unraid.

Yes that did also take me a very long time and afterwards getting pfsense to see them...

    2 things i missed.

    1) If you use other boot configuration then remember to disable the NIC in all of them!

    2) The "machine model" must match the one in the video from space invader the new Q35-XX breaks the 4 NIC has to be 2.11

Looking forward to hear about how you are going to set this up.... 🙂

Apps tab, show previous apps, check off the ones you want and select install all. No reconfiguration necessary. Only takes a couple clicks and you are done, automated download and set up exactly as they were.

My dockers run perfectly but just noticed this message today:

    image.thumb.png.a5815e9c99bebce10ba220e705af4631.png

I have all the dockers in Appdata except Plex and Emby where I have meta data on unassigned devices SSD?

Would this not destroy both Emby and Plex? or would it recreate them with the file paths to the SSD's?

The meta data have been generated over years and I would hate to see it go

Also when recreating the image file is it important to keep the same size as the orig file?

(could I just do a backup of the image file and restore it if things go bad?

Sorry if this i stupid Q's I have read this post but this is not clear to me

    Thanks!

  12. Hi All

I need some help on how to do this in the best way possible

I have followed this guide to create a VM running pfSense with 4 Intel NIC added (Not virtual NIC's)

I would like to set this connection up to another ISP2....

In my new setup I have two ISP's so one for the household on Unifi (ISP1) and now this (ISP2) on pfsense for the Unraid server

Everything runs on the Unraid server and that is where I need my ISP2 to connect to

The Unraid server have 2 physical NIC's

    image.png.3d759b64d9e5bebd3b94519570a30ab4.png

The VMpfsense have 4 physical NIC's

The Unifi network controls everything else and WLAN using 192.168.0.1/24 and I need to be able to reach the Unraid server from this LAN.

    Options?

    1) Split the two NIC's on Unraid into 2 different networks and connect the new LAN to one of the free NIC's on the pfsense as a NIC switch?

    2) Some virtual connection between the pfsense router and Unraid - the internal dockers/VM's ?

    3) Some VLAN setup in pfsense?

    4) Other solutions?

Hope this make sense (Didn't have time to create a drawing 🙂 )

Sorry this is new territory to me and normally I have managed with only having one LAN and one ISP but I like the idea of dividing access and speed on two ISP's

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks!

  13. Hi All

Just found this post which looks allot like mine :-)

    https://forums.unraid.net/topic/71071-video-guide-a-comprehensive-guide-to-pfsense-both-unraid-vm-and-physical/?do=findComment&comment=822768

But I did go out and bought a Intel Pro 1000 VT Quad Port NIC (EXPI9404VTG1P20) so I wouldn't have any problems LOL

So now I wonder if its about the firmware of the card? (Worked perfectly in Unraid before stubbing it and adding it to my VM)

    Any suggestion?

  14. Hi

I really like the cache setup but I would like to have all Appdata + VM's + Plex metadata + temp downloads on it

Not having the array spin-up is a plus and speed is great

To do that I have to extend my cash size, I have two options

    1) Buy another M.2 SSD 1TB and setup as Raid 0 (Auto monthly backup to array?)

    2) Replace the M.2 SSD with a Intel-600p-Series-SSDPEKNW020T801-2TB (Cost would be around the same and speed would be 1/4 of the above solution)

Loading metadata from plex and scrolling through my media collection seem to be a bottleneck need all the speed I can get... :-)

Any drawbacks using Raid in cache setup? - I have read about Cash in Raid 0 it should be well tested now right?

I want a stable system so that would be a deciding factor going for 1 single M.2 SSD

As always I hope to learn from people who already have or have tried this

    Thanks

    Casperse

UPDATE: This answers my question pretty good (So I went with one M.2 and not 2 in raid 0

Does anyone else experience this after updating Radarr?

    https://github.com/Radarr/Radarr/issues/4067

Might only be related to this naming convention?

This is much larger error, just found that it randomly doesn't move all subtitles anymore?

Can someone tell me if I can rollback to a old version of Radarr? (This worked before)

I have Appdata backup back to 2019 but when I restore them I still get the latest Radarr version?

  16. Update: I tried so many things and honest don't know what caused this? But my VM's are running (The few that didnt was caused by some network DHCP problem and I mistakenly thought that was related to all my VM's not working)

Short version I have my VM back but I can only connect to them by Firefox (Like other reports above) - Chrome in VNC seem to be broken (New update?) also listing the VM page seem to take much longer time than on Firefox? Docker is still working fast and show all dockers quickly so only on VM page

  17. I Finally got the stub working and I can select the 4 NIC intel card in the VM - But for some reason I only see one interface during the install - I wanted to setup pfsense before I get my new fiber connection but I just get this one interface? And no other for LAN

the 4 Nics are visible and selected in the VM?

    image.png.36aca24788058c4614d63ad38cbe2691.png

    what am I missing?

    image.thumb.png.d34ac8a2cc522f7586a05dcc2326abd2.png

But I can't see the 4 NIC's during install only one and always link down

    image.thumb.png.75518490ac317dcab9c007dd53c2052e.png

I have tried to do this with both seabios and OVMF

Also stubbed them tried both with vfio-pci.ids and pci-stub.ids?

    image.png.f15e32eb248ad5ed98a783ed1a45a56a.png

    image.png.77f6a0cd8fe2f80f108bbe02cae70ee0.png

Can't think of anything new to try?

Ok went through every setting again and by chance changed the Machine type to Q35 but not any version went back to the old Q35-2.11 and not the Q35-4.2

    And got this... :-)

I need a RSS plugin does anyone have one working?

As always your support and knowledge sharing is highly appreciated Thanks!

To help others you can rename the plugin to match the 3.8 python and it will then show up in the deluge UI

BUT IT WILL NOT WORK... so I guess we have to wait for a new version to come out here:

I can see that others are using the other docker just to get the RSS feed :-)

  20. I am writing here because I think it's more of the same...

I accidentally deleted my libvirt luckily I had a backup and I copied it to the "/mnt/user/system/libvirt/libvirt.img"

But when I start the VM service I get this:

    Libvirt Service failed to start.

I deleted the file because of this error any thing I need to change?

I'm not sure the Emby official container will work with the Nvidia stuff, we made our container specifically with the Unraid Nvidia stuff in mind.

Both will work - Space invaders video was for the Emby docker not the linuxserver one and he used the Nvidia stuff

Anyway I will experiment and see how things work out
