  1. does unraid offer a memtest program or do i need to run memtest86
  2. oh ok so far cant get it up and running... i tried different slots to boot wont boot.. i copied the usb to my windows computer and currently downloading the OS again and see if it will boot before i copy back.. so checksum errors are memory? does the logs say anything else i know i should have downloaded logs before teh reboot ... but currently waiting for the unraid to download to usb and go from there would the checksum errors be why i had slowness too?
  3. i figure it was the cache drive? so i pulled it and stuck on a new cable and i rebooted the server.. and its hanging at "SYSLINUX 6.03 EDD" whatever that means no i cant get back up and running gonna pull everything
  4. hi i been experiencing lot of slowness freezing of my windows when accessing my unraid there was soo much warnings i rebooted unraid forgot to save but when i rebooted i got other errors im guessing there is a hard drive error but i dont know which one it doesnt tell me specificlly maybe you can tell me if any of the warnings are normal and which warnings are not normal May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: Warning: PCIe ACS overrides enabled; This may allow non-IOMMU protected peer-to-peer DMA May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: tsc: Fast TSC calibration failed May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: ACPI: Early table checksum verification disabled May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 9: failed to assign [mem size 0x00400000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 7: failed to assign [mem size 0x00040000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:02:02.0: BAR 14: failed to assign [mem size 0x00600000] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 6: failed to assign [mem size 0x00080000 pref] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 3: failed to assign [mem size 0x00040000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 9: failed to assign [mem size 0x00400000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 1: failed to assign [mem size 0x00004000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 7: failed to assign [mem size 0x00040000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:01:00.0: BAR 14: failed to assign [mem size 0x00b00000] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:02:02.0: BAR 14: failed to assign [mem size 0x00600000] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:02:05.0: BAR 14: failed to assign [mem size 0x00100000] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:02:08.0: BAR 14: failed to assign [mem size 0x00200000] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:02:09.0: BAR 14: failed to assign [mem size 0x00100000] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:02:0a.0: BAR 14: failed to assign [mem size 0x00100000] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 3: failed to assign [mem size 0x00040000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 9: failed to assign [mem size 0x00400000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 1: failed to assign [mem size 0x00004000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:03:00.0: BAR 7: failed to assign [mem size 0x00040000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:04:00.0: BAR 4: failed to assign [mem size 0x00004000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:04:00.0: BAR 2: failed to assign [mem size 0x00001000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:05:00.1: BAR 0: failed to assign [mem size 0x00100000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:05:00.3: BAR 0: failed to assign [mem size 0x00100000 64bit] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:06:00.0: BAR 5: failed to assign [mem size 0x00000800] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: pci 0000:07:00.0: BAR 5: failed to assign [mem size 0x00000800] May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: floppy0: no floppy controllers found May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: random: 7 urandom warning(s) missed due to ratelimiting May 30 09:42:42 Tower kernel: ccp 0000:0a:00.1: psp initialization failed May 30 09:42:44 Tower rpc.statd[1913]: Failed to read /var/lib/nfs/state: Success May 30 09:42:56 Tower kernel: ACPI Warning: SystemIO range 0x0000000000000295-0x0000000000000296 conflicts with OpRegion 0x0000000000000290-0x0000000000000299 (\AMW0.SHWM) (20180810/utaddress-204) May 30 09:42:57 Tower root: Interface "tunl0" added. 5. hi i didnt notice the one reply and i been a way and really havent done much but i was fiddling with your code but i cant get it to work right.. i modified it as my home videos and such have spaces i googled as i get -iname error so i changed it to -name but here is my current code as i trying to search for everything and then after remux everything and log any errors i getting multiple errors my first error is "aa: line 7: cd: too many arguments /mnt/user/Home Videos/test/" and it doesnt like the find search pattern about using the -iname and the directory needs to be prior to the filename... so what si wrong in this code i modified from ya.. #!/bin/bash startpath="/mnt/user/Home Videos/test/" ### main place where to look for searchpattern="*.*" ### what type of files to look for extradelpattern=".idx2" ### extra delete type - sample, avidemux file cd $startpath echo $startpath #find . -mindepth 2 -name $searchpattern|sed "s|^\./||"|while read fname; do find . -name $searchpattern|sed "s"|while read fname; do echo "$fname" sourcefile=$(basename '$fname') extrafile='$sourcefile$extradelpattern' filepath=$(dirname '$fname') echo "hello" cd '$startpath/$filepath' echo $startpath echo $filepath if ! [ -n "$(lsof "$sourcefile")" ]; then if ! [ -f "$extrafile" ]; then docker exec Avidemux /usr/bin/avidemux3_cli --load '$fname' --save '/output/'$fname'.mkv'--q> echo "$sourcefile Converting To MKV..." else echo "$extrafile already there..." fi else echo "$sourcefile in use ..." fi echo"done" done
  6. hi I posted a question in general question but I guess I need to post in here for script batch file help so I don't know how to delete my message in general discussion but this is what I wrote " hi i know the avidemux isnt the forum to ask for a script and i not sure if this is the right subfolder for script but i looking for help how to read all videos it be like avi moi flv mp4 even mkv i have more then 200k of videos id like a batch program to read all of them and remux them into mkv and delete all metatags then if there is any errors the script file would log it if any videos are out of sync id also want it to recreate it in a different folder with the same subdiectories... i have tried mkvtoolnix but thats going to take me forever... but 500 at a time anyone have a script or point me to the right directions as i dont know how to write any of it"
  7. hi i know the avidemux isnt the forum to ask for a script and i not sure if this is the right subfolder for script but i looking for help how to read all videos it be like avi moi flv mp4 even mkv i have more then 200k of videos id like a batch program to read all of them and remux them into mkv and delete all metatags then if there is any errors the script file would log it if any videos are out of sync id also want it to recreate it in a different folder with the same subdiectories... i have tried mkvtoolnix but thats going to take me forever... but 500 at a time anyone have a script or point me to the right directions as i dont know how to write any of it
  8. @spl147 thanks ill check it out 🙂
  9. how do you get this app to update? i installed MkVtoolNix sas version 8.7.0 and latest is 46.0.0 but updating download button doesnt work how do i get it to update to 46
  10. how do you guys get Delete to work in Krusader.. for the past year or so i been using Krusader and deleting in it.. it just hangs there saying its moving to trash never really does as i click something else and its running background but it can sit there for hours.. and i checking my cache appdata and my one unraid is 670 and other its 560 gb of data in Appdata bin-krusader.. so going into it i find trash folder in there.. why is it moving files to the cache drive and why isnt it deleting files why is moving files to the .recyclin bin works but hitting delete doesnt work and how do you tell krusader dont move deleted files to the cache drive
  11. ok thank you guys.. i appreciate it 🙂 and the work around link just brings me back to this one lol
  12. is there one that works when the internet isnt working i find i cant connect to plex if my internet is down... is any of them able to ... or do you need plexpass and what does the green thumb mean the recommended version to use?
  13. i had to fix my sisters unraid it went complety down had to fix her hard drive issue etc now i was reinstalling apps and Plex but which plex media server you supposed to use i noticed the Orginal Plex Media Server is gone now even on mine "PlexMediaServer" by plexinc but there is likew a few different servers it seems.. one with a Green Thumbs up but what are the differences? i figured there only be 1 server app for unraid.. is there a way you guys can tell me what one to use.. and whats the difference between them all? as then i should uninstall the one i have PlexMediaServer for a newer one
  14. how come the pressing "a" to do Auto Yes doesnt really work.. it works for a while then stops is there not Auto Yes that doesnt stop till the hard drive has completely finished
  15. btrfs restore -v /dev/sdk1 /mnt/user/restore i tried that and it seems to be copying so will see if it works... it didnt ask me the issues i had with a cache drive.. where i had to keep pressing Y for Yes or A for all i forget
  16. so i went and got her hard drive i shoved it into my unraid and its "sdk" so do i type btrfs restore -v /dev/sdk /mnt/user/restore
  17. and the only issue I found is Asus X570 boards the temperature sensors no longer work and it must be a X570 issue SATA SSDS are slower then they supposed to be so if you had a Intel CPU and had a WD Sata SSD getting 560/530mbs you will now get speeds of 460/430mbs and if you got a MSI Gaming Plus x570 board its even slower it runs in the 300mbs with that same SSD and even when you buy a brand new blank SSD slow speeds.. so you may not notice it but it seems to be a defect maybe in X570s as NVME work close to the same speed.. and hard drives well they work as they only getting 250mbs anyways speeds
  18. I ended up using 32Gig AData XPG Ram Asus TUF X570 Gaming Plus Board Ryzen 3600 and an old video card just so I have access to the bios when it boots up as I don't need transcoding as I watch everything on the local network seems ok still kinda slow.. I dunno if a Gen3x4 candy bar SSD be faster for plex etc then my Sata WD SSD.. as you gotta wait for Hard drive spin up... and I never know if unraid is fast to do multiple streams of watching as so far I only one watching from the plex server.. as I read stripping better then just single disk.. or never spin down drives I never know but that is my current setup seems to be working ok so far
  19. i have 14TB free on my unraid.. now her drive isnt part of a Parity raid setup just single disk if i get her hard drive can i shove that drive in my computer and run btrfs restore -v /dev/sdX1 /mnt/disk2/restore" example and i not sure what the hard drive would look like like the SDX or is that a different type of drive and all hard drives are DISK but that was my idea if i get her drive can i put in mine and retreve it
  20. ah ok what does the check --repair actually do as it said if your in an array to do the --repair and s btrfs really a good file system or should i be running xfs hmmm guess i gotta try to find where i can get a 12tb drive with everything shut down cant buy crap
  21. draw backs of a 12tb drive, you need 12tb free... hmm well that blows lol and would you kn ow about the --repair i posted if that would work the check says i have 13 hours more to go anyways so i got time for input
  22. is there a way to run the btrfs partially since my sister has 2 external 6tb drives can btrfs restore like 5TBs to 1 External hd... then pause when its full and then plug the next drive in and continue it or you need a fully blank 12 14tb drive to restore the 12tb drive thats having issues as there is only 1.3TB free i think on the array cant tell now as its still checking
  23. i cant find what /dev/mdx be for that hard drive but i now have option under the drive is it ok to change readonly to repair ? is that what you would type in.. i not hitting enter or nothing as its still doing its check should be done maybe midnight tonight its at 37 percent complete
  24. so would it be the cables the issue? or the backplain? i looked at the smart and nothing in yellow to show errors with the hard drive as its also a new motherboard in there i just never replaced the backplain or cables i repaired an old NAS so using this command? "btrfs restore -v /dev/sdX1 /mnt/disk2/restore" as i know it cant restore when i dont have 12TB diskspace free though... would this one be better ? "btrfs check --repair /dev/md5" from that list so a TransID what is that? and is BTRFS a good file system i picked it because what i read was good.. but how do i protect myself for no failures like that.. i do have them backed up on my own server. this server is 2 hours drive away at my sisters house so i remote accessing to try to fix it at the moment and what does "completely flushed to disk" what does that mean? like fully copied to the drive? actually i cant remember if i replaced the sata cables or not.. they in a tight fit case and cant move
  25. sorry never though as i remember you guys like the diagnostic before a reboot mitchflix-diagnostics-20200511-0759.zip
