  1. TLDR: I think 6.12 is not properly handling OOM errors, causing hard locks I've had zero luck with 6.12. It always would just hang up and require a hard reboot. Then I'd downgrade back to 6.11.5 and wait for the next 6.12.x and try again, same result. The longest I'd make it is maybe an hour or two before it would lock up. I also have been having issues with OOM errors on 6.11.5 that I could never fix. I finally figured out it was the Unassigned Devices plugin causing that. I removed and reinstalled that and the OOM went away in 6.11.5. After a day of no OOM errors (I always got them within 30 minutes of a reboot and then occasionally after that) I decided to try 6.12.4 again. I've been up and running with no issues or lockups on 6.12.4 for a few days now. Before that the longest I got on 6.12 with no lockups was maybe 2 hours. So the only thing I changed was fixing the cause of the OOM error and now 6.12 runs fine it seems. It looks like 6.12 is not handeling things like OOM issues correctly (killing the offending process) and instead is letting the system go until it totally locks up. It's possible there are similar issues other people are having that are causing their lockups and system freezes. Issues that 6.11 would handle before crashing, 6.12 does not
  2. I didn't get the swap file set up, I was reading other people that set up a swap file & the OOM just filled that up too. But your post sent me down a rabbit hole that I think FINALLY fixed my OOM errors. It looks like the "Unassigned Devices" plugin was causing avahi-daemon to eat up all my RAM until it was killed. I reinstalled it had it's been OK since. Now I'm wondering of your experience of .12 locking up from issues like that instead of showing an OOM errors in the log is what I was seeing. I might tempt 6.12 again to see if it works now.
  3. I've actually had OOM issues on 6.11 with no apparent fix. Mine is "avahi-daemon" causing it. I hadn't found the swapfile solution or any help at all for my OOM. I'll give that a shot. If that stops the OOM in 6.11, maybe I can get 6.12 to run longer than a few hours. Thanks! I'll give that a shot
  4. Try downgrading to 6.11.5. It's the last version that runs fine for many people
  5. You'd think if you had to do all that just to install an update, there'd be a flashing sign, warnings, message you have to acknowledge, or maybe something to guide you through the process instead of a simple "Click to update" and then have your server crash constantly. Especially when the release notes for 6.12.4 say most of these things are no longer an issue
  6. I'm assuming you're on 6.12, correct? If so, try 6.11.5. Lots of people, myself included can't go a day on 6.12 without it doing this exact sort of thing. Have to do a hard reboot, then it works for a little while again. I've tried each version of 6.12 and always end up back on 6.11.5 where I have no issues.
  7. I can't figure out what's using avahi-daemon but it just eats up all RAM until the process is killed. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm on 6.11.5 since 6.12 just locks up my system and is unuseable CPU: 0 PID: 10324 Comm: avahi-daemon Tainted: P O 5.19.17-Unraid #2 Call Trace: kernel: out_of_memory+0x3e8/0x41a kernel: Out of memory: Killed process 10324 (avahi-daemon) total-vm:62465396kB, anon-rss:62460352kB, file-rss:4kB, shmem-rss:2868kB, UID:61 pgtables:122280kB oom_score_adj:0
  8. I got it working somehow. I changed it to include the playlist tag, then changed it back to this and it works now. Thanks
  9. I have it set for %(title)s.%(ext)s I assumed that would work since I don't have %(id)s in there, but it still adds the ID
  10. I set up MeTube and it's working fine. I just have issues with file naming. Is there a way to have it just use the name of the video without the long ID# at the end? Currently if I save a video I end up with this: "LIVE | Congress holds UFO hearing [SpzJnrwob1A].mp4" I'd like it to just save things like this: "LIVE | Congress holds UFO hearing.mp4" Thanks
  11. With plugins enabled I get this. avahi-daemon invoked oom-killer: gfp_mask=0x140dca(GFP_HIGHUSER_MOVABLE|__GFP_COMP|__GFP_ZERO), order=0, oom_score_adj=0 CPU: 12 PID: 10357 Comm: avahi-daemon Tainted: P O 5.19.17-Unraid #2 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x44/0x5c Jul 13 08:57:28 dump_header+0x4a/0x1ff Jul 13 08:57:28 oom_kill_process+0x80/0x111 out_of_memory+0x3e8/0x41a oom-kill:constraint=CONSTRAINT_NONE,nodemask=(null),cpuset=/,mems_allowed=0-1,global_oom,task_memcg=/,task=avahi-daemon,pid=10357,uid=61 Out of memory: Killed process 10357 (avahi-daemon) total-vm:62433044kB, anon-rss:62427840kB, file-rss:4kB, shmem-rss:2972kB, UID:61 pgtables:122208kB oom_score_adj:0 oom_reaper: reaped process 10357 (avahi-daemon), now anon-rss:0kB, file-rss:0kB, shmem-rss:0kB avahi-dnsconfd[10366]: read(): EOF
  12. I'd agree but it's that process every time. Several times a day. And I saw in the logs where that process was using about 57GB of RAM right before it was killed. I tried running with no dockers and still got it. Running in safe mode it doesn't happen. Trying to look into plugins now
  13. Thanks, trying that and still can't narrow it down. It seems random. It seems AVAHI-DAEMON Is a Linux version of Apple's Bonjour. I just don't know what's using it or if I can do anything about it. I do use Apple devices so it may be needed for something. But the out of. Memory errors are an issue
  14. Thanks, I'll look into that
  15. I can't figure out the cause but I stop the service, delete the image, reinstall my dockers and eventually the image gets corrupted and all of my dockers stop working. I've attached logs and would appreciate any help. Thanks! syslog.txt.zip
  16. I recently installed "Fix Common Problems" and noticed I'm getting errors. Looking at logs I see "kernel: Out of memory: Killed process avahi-daemon" So I don't know if this just started or if I'm just noticing now that I have the FCP plugin installed. Is this a known issue or does anyone know a fix?
  17. I just rand and download the drags. Not sure what to look for specifically
  18. I noticed I had a drive with errors and went to pull it out to replace it. I didn't notice a parity check was running. I pulled out the wrong drive and put it right back in but now the good drive I pulled out shows disabled. So now I'm in this situation: - Good drive disabled - Bad drive active in array - Parity check running. I've tried hitting cancel several times but it won't stop I"m trying to get the good drive working and the bad drive replaced before something bad happens. Any help or ideas would be appreciated
  19. For the life of me I can't get. SWAG and Cloudflare working again. I just set this up this morning and had it working. I had one subdomain, sonarr. And I was and to connect just fine. Then I added another subdomain sonarr, plex and I restarted the container & it fails to get a cert now. I believe when I got it working earlier I had to turn off SSL on Cloudflare. But that doesn't work now. Nothing works it seems. I get: "Certbot failed to authenticate some domains (authenticator: dns-cloudflare). The Certificate Authority reported these problems:" And: " Hint: The Certificate Authority failed to verify the DNS TXT records created by --dns-cloudflare. Ensure the above domains are hosted by this DNS provider, or try increasing --dns-cloudflare-propagation-seconds (currently 10 seconds). Some challenges have failed." Any ideas? I"m banging my head against a wall here because I feel like I'm missing something simple
  20. Awesome, thank you! I was clicking on the share name on the left side, not the View arrow on the right. Appreciate it!
  21. Like I said, that only seems to browse by disk. I don't save things to a "disk", I save to the shares. So I'll have to go through 11 disks looking for things. I'm looking for something that just goes by shares like a normal file explorer app would. Unless there's a way to do that in Dynamix that I can't find
  22. Is there no basic file explorer type app in Unraid? I'm used to things like File Station on a Synology. Are therye only things like Krusader & Dynamix File Manager? Krusader seems clunky & complicated, I don't know what most of the things I'm looking at are. Dynamix seems like you have to browse each drive. I'm looking for something totally dumbed down where I just browse shares in a simple to use interface.
  23. I've been using DelugeVPN for a while and things were fine. I just noticed though that torrents do not download. They just sit there doing nothing. If I look under the Peers tab, I don't see anything listed. - I know the torrents are fine, I can open on my pc in Transmission and they start downloading - DelugePVN is working, I can properly use it as a proxy for my browsers and it works. - I don't see any errors in the log. Connection to PIA and port forwarding are working. - I think this may have started when I updated the container to the latest version recently, not positive though. So it seems like everything is working but downloading torrents. I'm really not sure where to look to troubleshoot that. Any thoughts or ideas?
  24. Yea, it worked, lol. Probably would have taken longer to find the preferred method
  25. Thanks for the help. I finally fumbled my way through it by picking those disks as the parity disks, letting parity start, stopping it, doing a new config, then formatting the ones that shoed up as unsupported. There was probably an easier way, but I still got there & should be good now.
